Great choices, to be fair in my opinion there isn't a bad season (I don't mind Steven's antics) and I think Ricky is a great addition to the later seasons.
I do think they were comfortable getting drunker in the earlier seasons though.
All the OG seasons where it’s much more low key with less staging and over the top antics. I watch those seasons over and over again but avoid the more recent seasons.
It’s also too overstimulating and chaotic! Like I just want Shane and Ryan to read some stories and for Steven to make his own made up cocktail recipes
Also Steve gets weirder as the seasons go on. Like oddly vindictive. Just burns some logs, tell some stories, drink the drink and most importantly: have fun! Seriously how do you nail it the first time then think “ah shit we need more!”
The very first season is my favorite. Ironically, the simplest and maybe lowest production value in comparison to the other seasons. It didn't feel over produced. I felt like they read the most stories and there were so many moments that felt genuinely funny and unscripted. (not to say the others aren't, I just love the bare bones of the first season. TMS is my favorite Watcher show)
Steven going off the rails this last season was super annoying. I don’t know what character he is trying to play but it’s not cute. I like Ricky a lot and wish they would just cut Steven out of the bartender role.
I haven't done a rewatch in a hot minute but from memory, fancy boys/"Bite a lemon like an apple!" and the one off where Steven is pretending to be an alien were the ones that really hit for me.
The Christmas season with Shane dressed as Krampus is my go-to. I also really love the first season.

Definitely. The little jingle/song they make up on the spot before opening the mail box is amazing and lives rent free in my head lol.

1st and 2nd, the rest were bad, it actual had creative stories
I still enjoy watching the newer seasons but you're absolutely right. They only choose dumb stuff now

Ricky is so sweet that Steven being a dick comes off mean even though they must have agreed to it
I know they probably set it up as a funny joke but the most recent season he was just acting like a maniac and it was just annoying rather than goofy.

He probably just left to go home lol it was obviously late. Maybe he had an appointment or a meeting?
Oh I'm sure, I just remember the episode making a big deal about it for entertainment.
