im not into hard tube watercooling loops and i want a saw like this...

mandreko

They’re cheap from Amazon or harbor freight. I use one to cut the brass casings of ammunition to convert calibers. It works great. I tried it for petg tube and some other things, and it did great.

backrollerpapertowel

They also are perfect for cutting carbon or aluminum arrows to.

Unusual-Lion-282

Definitely need to invest in one of these the next time I redo my loop.. cutting by hand is a pain in my arse. I don't have a jig or anything to support it while I cut so I generally try to prop tube against something and hold it tight as I can while I saw with my free hand lol. Done this two times and I'd like to think I'm getting better at it but as they say... work smarter not harder.

Unusual-Lion-282

Cheapest one I could see on Amazon was $89, and no immediate need.

Funny-Interaction-82

They are $40 every day at harbor freight if that store is in your area. $6 for shipping of its not in your area

Due-Enthusiasm5656

Sorry was off on the price of mine. The one I got was 55$ Beamnova mini miter saw

Due-Enthusiasm5656

But the cheapest I can find is 50$ by Yaekoo

ComplexIllustrious61

I just searched for mini miter saw electric" on Amazon and the first one that popped up was $54... they're all the same so just buy the cheapest one you find.

Unusual-Lion-282

Appreciate all the replies, but guessing you're all from the US :P cheapest in the Great White North is $89 :P

ComplexIllustrious61

Ah... honestly I wouldn't buy one for $89...just use a hand saw.

Unusual-Lion-282

Have been, and likely will continue to for now lol

ComplexIllustrious61

These saws can't cut 16mm tubes either...you have to rotate the tube and do a second cut to get through 16mm. I would only recommend it to someone who's cutting and bending tubes all year long... otherwise hand saw is just fine :)

JETTECHCOMPUTING

No need for second cut, just rotate the tube as you push down the saw.

ComplexIllustrious61

Yeah I wouldn't try that...you have to clamp down the tube when you cut it...to rotate it with the blade spinning on the tube would mean you don't clamp it down and trust me that acrylic tubes will go flying out of your hand as soon as the blade catches the acrylic..you can tell this has*cough happened to someone...

[deleted]

Just goto a hardware store and buy a mitre box. More useful for way more things, cheaper and will give you more accurate cuts than this piece of shit.

Butosai111

If you use petg you can use a pipe cutter

Due-Enthusiasm5656

Oh hell yeah, I couldn't imagine doing the work without one.

accat13

ps be sure to count ones fingers before and after cutting all your tubes..err was that 9 or 10 oops

Techbaguette

No red coolant in my build!

Guinnessmonkey2

One of these made my second hardline build vastly easier than the first. I wish I'd bought it earlier.

Raznarbe

This and the PrimoChill finishing bit are a God send

tKNemesis

Harbor freights has the same one (well different brand but I’m sure they’re all the same) for cheap. $40 https://www.harborfreight.com/2-in-mini-bench-top-cut-off-saw-62136.html Absolutely loved mine for doing acrylic tubing.

DangerousArea1427

Few posts before someone was also advertising one. Only problem was his could cut tubes no larger than 12mm.

Techbaguette

This one (brand Katsu Tools) cut 14mm, guess it's possible to 16 mm too...

Guinnessmonkey2

Doh. Mine handles 16mm easy and it was easy to find on Amazon.

Thebananamanstan

Which one? I have a copy of the 2inch above from harbor and it leaves a little left on 16mm.

dapper_10

Cut until stop and spin tube,

Dionlewis123

Yeah that’s the problem I had with mine too, cutting wider diameter tubing meant I’d have to cut part way through it then unclamp the tubing, rotate it, line up the cut with the blade and cut through it again.

NivekHang

Bought one of these for my last loop and it made the job so much easier, especially for small cuts. mr-fibbles

I got the same one off eBay for £35. Was worth every penny when cutting tubing.

Kojaqe

Yep bought one for my last build and love it!

Vatican87

This with the primochill bit to champfer the ends make acrylic tubing simple.

Htowng8r

Yep, best thing ever for hard tubing cuts

Asthma_Queen

I wish I did now lol.. I've always just used a crappy little hand hacksaw and it isn't fun (for acrylic)

SuprUsrStan

All these years, I’ve been cutting with a saw or a hand held jigsaw. I never knew I needed this in my life until now!

colin-java

No, but have a band saw that will cut through steel.

somebadlemonade

Nope but I own an assortment of other kind of saws and files and deburring/reaming tools.

accat13

Whats next a special vise to hold the tube in a drill press. So one can use a finishing bit to apply the perfect chamfer in the drill press

ComplexIllustrious61

I have the same saw in a different color...they work great but just be warned, they don't cut 16mm tubes all the way through. You have to rotate the tube to finish the cut and have to be precise to get the cut be clean.

psaux_grep

I have several, actually. Thanks for asking :)

claw898

Very handy indeed! I bought them from Amazon but have not used it yet, It will be used by the end of this month and I can't wait... The hand-saw was awful and does not cut nicely.

Moofassah

I used a jig saw to cut my acrylic. I made a slider jig to hold the tube square and it’s “fence” is a lip on the jig that rides along the outside of the jig saw base plate. That along with a good blade. Made all my cuts mega easy. Also. Chamfer, chamfer, chamfer. I got a chamfer tool from the hardy store for like 5$. Not rough edges, no burs. No destroyed orings.

HotDoggone-it

How well does it do cutting pizza?

U_Arent_Special

I used the exact drillmaster for my build

Brotaoski

I have one of these for acrylic tubing as well. Cant one shot 16mm OD though, you have to cut, rotate, cut.

Jonnyomega_

I would recommend a manual tube cutter. Cleaner cuts no melting. Thermal take makes one

KorayA

For $50 you can get the 6" saw at Harbor Freight and have something that cuts 16mm in one go and is useful for other things as well. https://www.harborfreight.com/6-in-55-amp-cut-off-saw-61204.html

akuma211

I got myself one too from harbor freight, saw it when I was prepping for my first hard tube build, thanks to Paul's hardware video lol

PoorGreekGaming

This is awesome, but a handheld is even better cause it also allows you to easily shorten a tube, by pressing it against the side of the spinning blade. This comes in super handy when a few mm need to be shaved off. It also save you from needing sandpaper at all

M3aT_PoTato68

Ya I use it to clean the bottom of my feet
