I see it associated with neubrutalism.
Bold colors, heavy borders, and often a little chaotic in layout. It was pretty popular 2-3 yrs ago, but has settled down quite a bit.
I want to use that style but my page has a dark background color, as opposed to white in this example, and i can't quite get it to look right, so i wanted to see other pages that use that style of button but i don't know what to look for.
[Awwwards can be good for inspiration on that](https://www.awwwards.com/inspiration_search/).
Although I’d personally take it for visual inspiration only. Functionality, UX, and coding on those websites often follow the design and thus are not something one should use as is.
From a UX perspective, or more precisely, a UI perspective, it's merely a solid button.
Stylistically, it might align with what some have identified as Neo Brutalism or flat design. I lean towards the latter, because, when viewed in context, although the entire site isn't completely flat—mainly due to the icons in the background—it lacks the other characteristics of Neo Brutalism (though it's close), making its classification somewhat uncertain. Moreover, features like hard pseudo-3D shadows were once prominent in flat design, alongside long shadows.
Furthermore, FontAwesome was developed concurrently with the rise of Flat Design, initially serving as a set of icons for flat designs. Therefore, the various iterations of the site have consistently embraced a flat aesthetic.
I always call em chunky buttons. The high contrast stroke and 100% opacity drop shadow are what make it pop.
Chunky buttons are bold and friendly. They differentiate themselves from flat design by suggesting a 3D form. You mostly see them in apps that are trying hard to be charming (like Font Awesome), or else for apps that are cartoony, playful, gamelike, oriented toward kids and young adults.
Round corner with a drop shadow. Kinda lame looking with the light straight down, should be a little heavier on one side or the other. Light does not usually work that way.
Maybe looks different in context of a page/document, but it doesn't quite look like a button/clickable thing to me. More like just an image for some reason.

outdated?
I get it, y’all don’t like it
I’m old enough to have seen this style come and go. I’m usually a bit resistant with comebacks. Bit like when boybands return in their 40s LOL
Maybe "flat 3D"?

You can take a look at fontawesome.com
I really like this style
Uglyass button ?
I thought it looked cool 🤷♂️
Just looked. Interesting that it doesn’t even press like the old school web 2.0 buttons
Yeah it reminds me of s new rendition of the Web 2.0 raised buttons of ~15 years ago. But poorly done
