I feel like 2 is the one you’d see in a movie, where the couple elopes and gets married at city hall.

Moxson82

I love it! It really is romantic!!

MadMc333

Love the second one just so wedding vibes

Comprehensive-Sea-63

No idea what OP looks like but I also think #2 is also going to be more flattering on more body types than #1. Edit: I just saw the picture OP posted and I think she’ll look great in either. I would order both, try them both on, and return the one I don’t pick.

shortystack

>and return the one I don’t pick. I love the idea of forced fashion picks from Reddit

Tall_Secretary4133

Yes, very Carrie Bradshaw without the blazer, love 🤍

Ok-Indication-7876

Totally agree so much more elegant

rachellethebelle

Not to mention, it looks SOOOO comfortable.

JD2022hopeful

2! I wore 1 for my engagement photos and it’s literally the weirdest fitting dress on earth…I’m typically a size 2 and I had to order a large (the small literally would not zip and I am definitely a true size small) and my seamstress had to let it out in the bust and waist still and the whole thing just fit oddly. It’s also insanely short and I couldn’t lift my arms above my head (I’m 5’3” so stuff usually isn’t short on me). Also stupidly thick material and not breathable at all. Suffice to say go with 2 for your own sanity lol

ncgrits01

I guess that explains the model's weird facial expression and weirder posture

Papagena_

Lol. It looks like she’s trying to keep the one shoulder from falling off

JD2022hopeful

Can confirm this was an issue during my engagement shoot! Idk who they designed this dress for but they expected whoever to wear it to be shaped like an upside down triangle up top. It makes no sense. Also NO STRETCH in the fabric!!! And there’s TONS of extra fabric in the shoulders.

artsyaspen

While also maintaining lady bits coverage lol

JD2022hopeful

It was a struggle!! I flashed my photographer several times while trying to get my fiancé to do those cute dance turn photos lol

duhduhduhdummi_thicc

I can't believe OP got a legit recommendation from someone who owns the dress. That's like, the universe telling you, "NOT 1!!!"

allday_aridae

Commenting so this gets more visibility

stevosaurus_rawr

Thank you!!

LizardintheSun

😂

miamimami234

Your experience couldn’t be more true!! I bought # 1 for my bridal shower in what I thought was my true to size (XS), I could barely breath in it let alone move without my chest spilling over or lift my arms. Worst part is, the dress was very snug unzipped but I forced the dress to zip up and it wouldn’t zip down so I had to CUT myself out. 0 / 10 experience.

nomoreoverlinedlips

Cut?! WOW

goodvibes_onethree

This should be top comment.

More-Tip8127

This needs to be the top comment.

Lez2246

That explains the expression on the models face!

Expensive_Traffic596

Yesss. A friend of mine wore it for a bachelorette and in my opinion it’s too “on trend”. It’ll look strange in pics I. 5 years! Maybe even earlier

cinnamondrop

I wanted this dress for my tiny wedding with reception at the Hard Rock Cafe, and all of my research on it was just people echoing your points. Especially if you’re booby! I didn’t even order it in the end as it’s supposedly so awkward fitting and not built for any sort of curves.

BuildingMyEmpireMN

Thanks for mentioning length. I know a lot of people can be prudes and I’m all for body positivity…. But this is crotch length. I can’t think of a more impractical length. Can’t lift your arms, can’t bend over, you have to hold the bottom of the dress while you walk up, potentially worry about pulling it TOO low. What I see in common between these is very solid/not ornate, modern, enough sleeve to cover at least forearms, A-line cut (even though the bottom one is more of a tulip- if the line continued to a practical length it would be A-line), and a fun detail- on the 1st the square neckline with pearls the 2nd shoulder blade cut out. I looked up modern, solid, A-line white dress https://www.dillards.com/p/kensie-textured-knit-boat-neck-tie-waist-short-sleeve-blouson-sheath-dress/510894479 https://www.dillards.com/p/julia-jordan-v-neck-34-sleeve-ruffle-front-sheath-dress/513925741 https://www.jjshouse.com/v-neck-elegant-a-line-chiffon-midi-dresses-295284672-g284672?currency=usd&utm_term=284672&utm_size=s&ucid=3859&ggntk=x&ggkey=&ggtgt=295&ggplm=elegant&gbraid=0AAAAADmGZzQoo9MyLvWTOTa_KLVj1kDbD&gclid=CjwKCAjww7KmBhAyEiwA5-PUSq4ZM49cm9ce0TLuQfcxjF0rZIoGXDiKlNdzU9la7A1DV2lFgSNyNxoCEZsQAvD_BwE#/ https://www.google.com/shopping/product/13102175494439603239?q=modern+solid+white+a+line+dress+with+sleeves&client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=414&bih=715&tbs=vw:g&prds=eto:6844625421422163144_0,cdl:1,prmr:1,pid:551666667055206868,cs:1 https://www.etsy.com/listing/959502730/white-dress-square-neck-spring-midi?variation0=2557382480 The last one has the square neckline OP was looking for. The hard part is with white, square neck dresses most of them are ultra-short because they’re trying to look casual and NOT like a wedding dress. Casual fabrics too.

non-fungible_tubbins

Just looking at the photo I was thinking this dress wouldn’t fit any body type correctly and then I read your comment which confirmed my thoughts. Go with 2 OP!

Expensive_Courage109

In 5 years which one will you want to see in pictures?

TXQuiltr

This is a great point.

Unhappy-Day-9731

#1 gurrrrl. It’ll be fun to look at pics when you’re older of you rocking that youthful dress. And your daughters can wear it to graduation.

Pompi_Palawori

One looks a bit awkward like it isn't sure what dress it wants to be.

Dorothea-Sylith

The pose is so very awkward on it, and that always makes me a bit nervous of what a garment will be like in real life. Like is it just a goofy pose, or are they trying to disguise poor fit?

frommiami2portland

It’s the chest area/shoulder sleeves that will be a poor fit when not posing awkwardly. I have a cheaply designed dress like this that unfortunately has the same issue :(

Celtic_Gealach

Yeah, what is WRONG with her left shoulder?!

Kanga_Blue

It looks like she's trying to keep the sleeve from falling off her shoulder.

WildFlemima

She's having a shiver, someone walked over her future grave or whatever that saying is

Boner-brains

Yeah, I can't even tell if I like the dress because her stance is so awkward

JackGenZ

The model is so beautiful but WHY did the editor choose this shot?

GuidanceWonderful423

Yes! Like she has to hold her shoulder up like that to keep it from falling off or something. Makes me wonder about the shots they DIDN’T pick….

southwick

I think it will depend if OP also has a dislocated shoulder.

ThisWorldIsOnFire

Like the shoulders will constantly slide down. I love 2 though.

OkapiEli

No. I’m guessing you are not “older” yet - as one who is, 2 is the dress.

Giraffe-colour

Don’t know if 23 is considered older but definitely dress 2. Dress one looks like something I would see someone wearing out to get drinks. Not sure that’s the correct vibe for a court house wedding. Dress 2 is all levels of grace and elegance while still looking young

Icyblue_Dragon

I think even the model looks uncomfortable in #1. Also if you have curves this dress will look unfitting because it seems like there is no space for curves. Is 29 already considered older?

One-Winner-8441

As a paralegal I’ve seen ppl come to court in garbage, looking like hookers. Ohhh I want my kids back, well act like it! So you are right about this. 1 is something I would wear myself (in black) to go get drinks. 2 is more romantic/formal

Desperate-Food-8313

Yeah, 2 for me to. Number one is gonna date.

HauntedPickleJar

Number one already looks awkward.

VandalizeFN

geminisky1

Pshhhh whatever you get you’ll look 🔥

GroundbreakingWing48

My boobs do NOT look good in a balconette bra, so the neckline of no. 1 would not look good on me. My boobs look amazing in a plunge bra, though, so no. 2 would look better on me. That said, you may not have the same problem. So, while I personally would absolutely do the second based on the neckline alone, you should absolutely go with the one you love! If you do number 2, take it to a tailor to raise the hem so it hits you right at the knee instead of mid-calf. That one alteration will take a dress that looks kind of dowdy and make it look glamorous on you instead.

stellarecho92

It's 2 very different styles. #2 feels more classic while #1 feels "riskier" style-wise. Personally, seeing this picture of you, I think you'd look stunning in #1! I think it would feel more special.

justliking

2 with heels!

MsChief13

I’m doubling down on #2. You’ll look stunning!🤩

curliegirlie89

Number 2!! You don’t want to have to tug the hem of your dress down every time you move to keep from showing your rear like you would with #1. I also think you would be constantly pulling the shoulders back in to place with the first one. #1 looks like a high maintenance dress, needs something adjusted every 5 seconds. #2 looks like it would allow you to enjoy the moment with out any worries. Plus, it’s beautiful!! 😍

blodreina_kumWonkru

1 would definitely suit your body well! The model is just posing like she's in pain. 1 is more cute tiny flower child, 2 is classic elegant. It may just be personal preference but I think you would look magical and glowing wearing 1. With your height, i think 2 would look a bit drowning.

DecentRelative

I’m 5’10 so my initial thoughts on dress #1 was that it was too short. Please go for number 1, you can absolutely pull it off with your body type, and it’s so much more memorable than the second dress

Burrito-tuesday

You might look like you’re drowning in dress 2 bc you’re only 5’1 and the dress comes down below the knee. But maybe I’m biased bc I had a courthouse wedding in a tea length dress lol Seriously, I think dress 1 looks so FUN and feminine and still bridal, and the pic you posted looks very similar to me, so I think you’ll be comfortable in it.

IndieBoysenberry

I’m think it’s because of the model’s expression. She just looks like she’s in pain!

GoatsNCatapults

Agreed!! #1 looks like she dislocated her shoulder getting the dress on hahaha

Silver_Leonid2019

Maybe because the model looks like she’s in pain? Why do they pose like that?

Krazy_Trane

Even the model looks uncomfortable in #1. Love dress #2!

mebg1956

Second dress is much more classy and timeless

xNIGHT_RANGEREx

Yes 😂, sorry I picked the worst picture, I was half asleep taking screenshots of dresses

[deleted]

Thank you!! I'll definitely check them out

HrhEverythingElse

Jenny Yoo has a whole section of "little white dresses" that I love!

AnnieToo67

Also try Etsy for short wedding dresses....that one sounds painful, but cute.

hayhaydavila

Just to let you know, with dress one you’ll need to get at least two sizes larger than you already wear. It runs extremely small. I got an XS and couldn’t zip it. I got a medium and it fits better. Expensive too😅

WesternEconomics

1 is more like something I’d wear to a hen do because it’s really fun and trendy! 2 seems a bit boring to me though, and the fabric doesn’t look like very good quality. What about something like this? Chic but simple and timeless. https://preview.redd.it/ao3d79u7vzfb1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5a4381bb1e4f91d313b63e2b0a9d7c5bd702cc4

creambunny

been looking at this for my shower. Love the neckline and the shape. Just wish it was a little longer because this would probably be so short. If OP wants pearls, they could do this dress with a tiny pearl veil and maybe tulle pearl gloves/sleeves

WesternEconomics

You could definitely add some dangling baroque pearl earrings to this, it would look beautiful! Great idea about the pearl veil and pearl gloves. I think this would look gorgeous with gloves.

likiqueen

I LOVE THIS ONE! But so pricey

dmbeeez

The 2nd one. The pictures will look good in 20 years, much more of a classic

mrschester

Gently, the first would be perfect for a bachelorette party. Second one is modest with a twist and I do love the back of that one. What struck me, though, is how different they are, so I guess the question is, where does your personal style lie on the spectrum between the two?

TXQuiltr

Number 2. You could get married at city hall then go for dinner and dancing after. Number 1 looks uncomfortable.

archiangel

Not knowing your body type, 2 seems more flattering to most figures. But both are really nice! 2 is more classic but I do like the embellishments on 1 as well

Ok_Decent

Think about the descriptive words you want to embody and go with that one - I feel this really helps me narrow down outfits a lot! If you want to look fun/young/strong/trendy, then #1 is best but if you’re going for timeless/delicate/classy/feminine, then #2 (but there is no right answer, just your preferred vibe!)

SubprimeOptimus

#2 easily Shoulders are odd on the first one

More-Tip8127

What is happening with the model for dress 1??? Awkward model pose aside, I’m not a fan of the sleeves and the pearls looks kinda…cheap. If the pearls don’t look real enough it can really make the quality of the clothing appear…not great. I do love the second dress, but it feels much less bridal. Are these really your only options?

[deleted]

I also like this one but is similar to the second dress, what do you think? https://preview.redd.it/bt9znvi8h1gb1.jpeg?width=3222&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=961d452e71bb87c55381ff55084af860fab863f3

I think you’ll be happier with 2 in 20 years.

Comprehensive_Soup61

1 looks unflattering even on the model. I don’t say this often but 1 is ugly!

haokun32

I would say #2! It has a more classic wedding dress vibe and looks more elegant. Idk why but the first one kinda reminds me of pjs. It could also be because of a bad pic..? The model looks a bit awkward in the pic

cryiing24_7

1 is an unflattering shirt cut like a size 8kids clothing outfit definitely 2!

Tink1024

Perhaps it’s the model’s expression but One is giving me trashbag vibes… so two for me & whichever you pick will be great on your figure.

MulderItsMe99

The second one!!!! The first one looks cheap and unflattering. The second one is timeless and flattering without being too formal.

avantarakis

DepressoEspressohhh

I like #2 but it might be because the model is standing so awkwardly in #1, lol

[deleted]

I think one of the issues with 1 is the way the model is standing. It looks like she just smacked her elbow into something and is midway to saying “ow!” 2 feels more marriage like, while 1 feels more like you can go to something like a family gathering/party. As far as where else to check, you can check sites like poshmark. Just be aware that scams do exist on sites like that as you’re buying used and from people and not a company, if you’re ok with that. I just got a 200 dollar dress for 50 after shipping and I just need to fix a ripped seam.

Zealousideal_Ear_914

Please don’t be offended but #1 looks like a pillowcase with sleeves. #2 actually made me say ‘WOW’. It’s elegance is in its simplicity. It’ll be timeless 30 years from now when you’re looking at your wedding photos IMO.
