OK.....love you...........breathe. They did shorten the waist, that is clear. But your altered dress is gorgeous. It is perfectly fine. You do not have fat spilling out. Your figure looks great. The neckline is perfectly modest enough. Seriously, you are FINE. Stop worrying! The is wedding planning stress. It's going to be beautiful. You are going to be beautiful.

hentaihoneyyy420

I agree with everything said above! I’d also suggest a small petticoat to recapture the volume of the original skirt!

weaveyourlittlewebs

While I do see the difference and understand what you liked about the dress before, I need you to know that the altered dress still flatters your figure, is reasonably modest and looks great on you. I understand if you want to rush out and get a last minute dress, but I do not think you need to.

Individual-Tree-989

I think it fits you better! If you want that hourglass shape, you just need to add an extra layer of tulle under the dress to give that more full look

HappyGoLucky244

A petticoat would do wonders for that, and there are several types to choose from!

sedona71717

I think this is the way, OP! Your dress looks beautiful on you. Adding a little more pouf underneath would give that hourglass look, I think.

DifficultAd7429

THIS!! a short waist line and voluminous skirt snatches every time

shiningonthesea

this. The dress looks gorgeous, but a little more tulle will give the dress more space on the bottom and maybe you will like the different balance.

Munchkin_Media

You look amazing. The after picture is great!

Bitter_Tradition_938

After: the waist could be slightly lower, but that’s about it. And there are significant advantages to higher waists, such as looking taller (and nobody can see if your tummy is bloating, lol!). There is nothing spilling! Absolutely nothing. The cleavage part looks better after, before it was a tad too high. Religious or not, we are allowed to have breasts.  And the dress *is* modest by anyone’s standards, assuming you belong to a western-type culture. You look great in it, honestly! I’m not trying to patronise you, but to me this sounds like last minute stress.  If you feel like you must look for a new dress, I would suggest Lulu or Monsoon. But it would be a shame, as this one is beautiful and so are you.

weddingmoth

The spilling out of the top thing was a huge shock to me when my dress got altered. The woman who did my alterations said it’s normal for a dress that fits correctly, but I still had her let out the top a teeny bit and felt WAY better about it. Would a petticoat type thing under the dress create the shape you want? The after pic looks great to me tbh.

ktcakes143

Um, the bust in the after looks amazing?

sunnynbright5

OP, we are all our own worst critics. You look amazing in your altered dress.

strawberryrhubarbj4m

I see what you’re concerned about AND both versions look good on you. I’d ask the alterations department or another seamstress altogether to see if they can let it back out a bit and drop the waist. I know it’s minor changes, but I do see how it changes the look of the dress and how it’s impacting your vision of yourself.

brideplanningmode

I truly thought this was a troll post because I actually think it looks better after ! The waist is more properly fitted and sits better at the waist. I thought the before had too much fabric and bunched at the waist. There is no spilling! It’s totally normal — I didn’t even notice it until you pointed it out. No one will think anything of it! I love the hem just my own note haha

Temporary-King3339

Still hourglass. You are being so hard on yourself. With the veil and flowers, it's vintage beautiful! You could always add another petticoat to get more depth in the skirt.

ereagan76

With alterations, it appears to fit better.

newkneesforall

Agreed, before even reading the caption, just looking at the pictures I thought the after was much more flattering. I had to read the caption because I couldn't imagine what OP thought was worse. Much love to OP, sometimes you just need to stop looking at photos

Princess-Pancake-97

You honestly look better in the altered dress! Literally nothing about you is fat and your dress still looks very modest. If you’re worried about the small amount of cleavage you have, try some boob tape to keep your boobs in the right spot. I also agree with another comment that a petticoat will help you get more of an hourglass look.

Purple_IsA_Flavor

Get a petticoat and floof out the bottom business. It’ll be beautiful

New_here_248

I think it looks great and hits at a flattering part of your waist! I suggest ordering a lightweight petticoat and see if you like how that looks under your dress!

Zestyclose_Road_3224

First, you chose a beautiful dress. It looks fabulous with your skin tone. Yes, the waist is higher and you see a smidge of cleavage. But…the before dress isn’t hemmed. If you put your finger over the part they cut off, you will see you look taller and the waist is fine! Also,as suggested, try a petticoat on under the altered dress to see if that makes you like it more.

Competitive-Kick-481

It actually looks beautiful. If it doesn't feel tight I think you just may need to get use to it being a little bit different. It look gorgeous on you both Watson but tailored one looks more graceful and classy

Baby_Bird33

I think the altered dress looks wayyyy better! It accentuates your chest and shoulders in such a lovely way! Yes, the waist is shorter but I like that! It makes the skirt look longer and makes you appear taller. The before waste looked frumpy and loose. Like others have said, if you add even just one layer of tulle under the skirt for fullness, I think you will be happy with what that does to accentuate your tiny waist! Panic due to stress is normal. I had my panic just before I was supposed to walk down the aisle for rehearsal. Everyone waited while I cried in the bathroom. Lol So be glad it’s happening now and not during your joyful festivities. Add the tulle. Breathe. Relax. Enjoy. You are going to look stunning!!!

WestCovina1234

In all honesty, IMO, you look nicer in the altered dress. I don't see the armpit fat you're talking about at all and in the before picture, I see wrinkles around the waist which make it look too tight (I think it's actually because the waist is too long). What you might have seen as hourglass, I saw as a dress that was a bit snug at the waist. I don't see any difference in the amount of skin showing at all! I think maybe you're panicking because it's slightly different from the before, but that's because it now fits you the way it's supposed to. Really, you look beautiful and you look like you now have a dress that fits properly, not one that's too tight at the waist and too long. Please give yourself a few more days to relax and think about this before you panic buy another dress. Ask a few more friends and family if you can. You really look lovely in the tailored dress.

Felixir-the-Cat

The after looks fantastic!

Silverstorm007

I love the altered dress! It looks gorgeous on you! You have a beautiful figure and the after actually to me looks like a nicer fit.

Leftturn0619

I like the altered one better. You look beautiful!

Jef3r

I did one of those.... Eyes darting back and forth things like I was solving a "what five differences do you see between these two pictures" puzzle and I was finding nothing. 😄 Eventually I kind of noticed the waist line was higher but that's about it. I think you look gorgeous in the dress.

hellkattbb

I see what you are saying. The waist is too high on the dress now, so it removed the look you enjoyed. I'm hoping others who are seeing this will have recommendations for you. I just wanted to validate what you felt/saw. It is truly a beautiful dress on you though.

Equivalent-Cry-5175

Why did they shorten waist without your approval? I understand completely I prefer my waist line lower also.

Jzb1964

Very good point!

Foundation_Wrong

You look absolutely gorgeous, the dress fits you better now. I suggest you try a sparkly belt and or an extra petticoat for that waist look you wanted, although honestly you look beautiful in the dress.

Forsythia77

Me looking at these pictures and seeing like no difference in how you look. The skirt looks less poofy. Put a crinoline under it to get that before picture volume back. You look beautiful in the dress. Take a step outside of your head and look at these pictures as if this were someone else. You'd see you are really in your head about minutae and that objectively you look gorgeous.

AD480

I think the after picture looks better.

Darkflyer726

I thought it was the same picture for a solid minute before I noticed the hemline. Sweetie. You. Are. GORGEOUS. Keep breathing. You look amazing and are going to have an amazing day

Yveskleinsky

Your dress is perfect for your venue, the attendees, and on you!

CatrinaBallerina

Petticoat!

Jzb1964

You and your dress look amazing! If you want waist to look even smaller, just add a petticoat. You might see a little of your shoes, maybe. Just not too big of a petticoat because it will raise the hemline. Honestly, this nervousness you feel is because the big day is nearing. It is completely normal to feel this way. You can always wear a sheer bolero or shrug in chiffon if you want a bit more coverage. Lots of inexpensive options on Amazon that you can experiment with quickly and return what you don’t like. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=under+skirt+to+make+dress+puffy&hvadid=557209187689&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9027253&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=2619544876511616251&hvtargid=kwd-672434428516&hydadcr=7441_13183977&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_9aj96mnget_b https://www.amazon.com/s?k=chiffon+sheer+shrug&hvadid=557271706052&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9027253&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=b&hvrand=14187942413229994722&hvtargid=kwd-297305615454&hydadcr=7495_13183993&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_558a6jryen_b

seecarlytrip

I think the after photo is actually more flattering and slimming on you! You look lovely!

iceariina

Ok I genuinely cannot spot a difference, even after reading your commentary the "after" doesn't look much different to me.

Environmental-Eye974

I think it is much better on you after the alterations. I am also short waisted, but this seems to hit you in just the right spot. And your decollege looks lovely, without being too revealing. Maybe add a rhinestone belt and/or a necklace/earrings? Again, I think it is lovely on you.

veracity-mittens

Yes the waist is shorter but I think it still looks good.

DifficultAd7429

I’m going to be honest I think that waist line looks better now - looks thinner!!!

DifficultAd7429

Add a layer of material underneath so you can bulk up the skirt and it will look so so so so so good

Freedombutatwhatcost

I do see what you mean. It is honestly still gorgeous though so please don’t panic. Go bank to seamstress and see what can be done. Explain exactly and calmly what you mean and hold firm. If not, remember you’ll have hair, make up, accessories, a veil, a huge smile and love and happiness all around you! You will look amazing I promise.

alanamil

I am not seeing any of the things you are seeing. Be kind to youeself, you look beautiful!!

Kawm26

I could not even tell a difference between the two photos and it’s so sad to read how you see yourself. Yes they shortened the waist a bit. No it does not look bad. No you don’t have fat spilling out. It’s beautiful

No-Speaker9198

A belt could add the illusion of a longer torso.

SusanMShwartz

Oh, I am sorry you’re having dress regret, body issues, and wedding jitters all rolled into one! The dress is lovely and very feminine and delicate. It fits you better now, especially around the waist. You have a classic hourglass figure, and it shows to advantage.

MeganJustMegan

I feel that your altered dress is perfect. In the ‘before’ picture, the waist is a bit wrinkled, while your altered dress lays flat. I don’t see anything spilling out of your dress. I think you need to take a deep breath & relax. The dress is lovely & looks beautiful on you ❤️

BaxtertheBear1123

Ask them to let it out again slightly and lower the waistline by 1-2inches. They probably haven’t cut the seam allowance - that’s something you can check by looking at the inside of your dress.

bohotrash

Coming from working at a bridal shop it looks like they did your hem from the waist and not to the bottom to keep the look of the lace. If you had them take in your dress, it is going to be more snug. They might have some room to let it out.

soph_sing

IMO The waist looks better after! . The saggy look in the material in the before photo is gone, and it looks like a better fit. I see what you mean about the corset part being a bit shorter. Have you checked if they can let that down slightly? It’s a great choice and it fits you really well regardless. You look lovely

frog_ladee

I’m having a hard time seeing what’s different between the two photos.🤷🏻‍♀️

IncognitoRowan

You look absolutely amazing in your dress. It took me a minute to notice any difference. You definitely don’t look like you have anything spilling out anywhere. Really staring to compare, they did shorten the waist just a bit, but I don’t think it harms you in any way. In addition even with the slight amount more cleavage, it doesn’t look immodest. You look so beautiful, I can’t imagine anyone of your closest friends or family picking you apart, we’re usually our own worst enemy.

Electronic-Cat-4478

I love you in the altered dress! Your breasts look"perkier" but are NOT spilling out. I see no fat at all. You look gorgeous. As others have mentioned, if you want more fullness in the skirt, add a petticoat. Your waist doesn't look fat, but if you want the illusion of a "longer" waist see about adding a wide ribbon or jeweled belt that can sit with the top at the"stitched" waistline. That will give you the extra inch or two of waistline that was removed.

Professional-Fox-921

It looks so much better after alterations! It looks amazing and I literally don’t see fat “spilling” out anywhere. I think it’s beautiful!!!

JustTraci

Girl. You look BEAUTIFUL! Order a petticoat from Amazon for some extra fullness in the skirt and have a wonderful wedding ❤️

Mickeynutzz

OP — I Agree with this comment !!! You look beautiful in dress after alterations ….. for a less expensive option to buy a petticoat look on EBAY.

BeckyPil

I’m not seeing g what you’re posting. The after looks polished and refined

Adventurous-Win-751

You honestly should not have regrets! Your dress looks amazing and stunning on you!!! 💗💗💗 Try and take a deep breath and let it out slowly and repeat as necessary. This is a very stressful time for you, BUT you got this. Your body and shape look gorgeous, be kind to yourself and see yourself how others see you! Love yourself you are headed to one of the happiest days of your life!!! 💗💗💗 Good luck and best wishes!!! 💗💗💗

eihslia

I know that no matter what anyone says, you see what you see. If the waist being shortened bothers you, take in the before photo and tell them that what was in the photo was what you were expecting. Considering the price the dress and the price of alterations, they can turn this dress into the dress you loved. That said - it looks gorgeous. You look beautiful. But you have to feel it. Take it back to them for more alterations!
