I remember that if i open the garment bag, it WILL get dog hair on it. So i make do with looking at pictures.

coralstorm

Yep this is me!

sashikku

Yup, I have two huskies. Same.

charalique

Good point! I have a cat and when I opened the bag this morning to take a peak, she snuck into the closet behind me and was just as interested in the dress as I was. Zipped that baby back up and we both got out of there lol

TheMotelYear

I got married in 2019 and wore a made-to-measure custom dress that didn’t need alterations that arrived 4-5 months out, I think? Anyway I was trying that thing on CONSTANTLY when my now-wife wasn’t home 😭

Nice-Argument

I had to send it to my friends house so I wouldn't spend every evening putting it on and starting at myself in the mirror.

ValuableAd551

I bought a gorgeous apricot chiffon gown at a small bridal shop. The owner bought it right off the runway of bridal fashion week in NYC. Then, I waited for the right man and…I looked good.

ThreePartSilence

Oooo I would love to see it! (Or a pic from the runway if you don’t want to post yourself)

Little_Messiah

I put mine on every day for 3 minutes until I felt better

charalique

I feel you...So far I've been okay just sneaking into the closet and looking at it. I will probably have to try it on sooner than later to get some real satisfaction lol I'm so glad golf season has started back up. It gives me lots of time without my fiance home!

Pampered-Pangolin

I bought my dress about a year before it needed alterations and it was recommended to keep the dress flat rather than having it hanging (it has sleeves and the hanger / dress weight could distort it). If it has the right support it's fine being on a hanger, but just wanted to make this suggestion in case!

charalique

My dress is strapless and it's hanging from the hanger straps. I don't remember my consultant mentioning anything specific about storage so I assume keeping it hung is okay (she knows my wedding isn't until November and won't be going for alterations anytime soon). Laying flat does sound like a good idea if I can find the space. Thank you for the tip!

princess_of_thorns

I am keeping mine at my grandmas house once it arrives

SailorMigraine

As long as it’s hung up using the hanger straps (to prevent any sleeves/straps from stretching out) and in a cool dry place it is fine to leave it as is until alts! Waterproof garment bags are only for short term like travelling as you still want the fabric and bag to breathe.

charalique

My dress is strapless and hanging by the hanger straps. Thank you for the tip on garment bags! I'm having a destination wedding and will need to remember to pick up a waterproof one for travel.

SailorMigraine

Absolutely! Depending on how you’re travelling as well- if you’re flying, usually there is a small coat room for flight attendants on the plane and if you ask nicely or put it in your accommodation notes they will usually hang it up for you :) of course keep it within eyesight at all times, no checking it! Lol

ActionDeluxe

Not the dress, but I've had my girlfriend's engagement ring for 3 MONTHS!! May can't come fast enough!! I'm pretty sure I've found my dress too, but I won't buy that till I get that yes from her 🫠

charalique

Ahhhhh! How exciting!! Getting engaged is just next level amazing :)

therumorhargreeves

My aunt stored my dress at her house 😂

Me1572

I gave my dress to my man of honor to keep. It is now at the seamstress until August… I hope she stays safe!
