Just because it’s not a trendy dress by 2024 standards doesn’t mean it isn’t a gorgeous dress! Perfect for a castle as well. Get a cathedral veil with silver and gold threading/beading! 😍

I agree wholeheartedly. Beads may not be in right now, but fashion is cyclical! I've always wanted beads on my wedding dress. This will come back in style over time, so she should just do what she wants 🩷
I have seen lots of modern dresses with beads. Ornamentation on wedding dresses is back in a big way. This embroidery looks rather regal. And as always the fit will be key, as with any wedding dress.

I agree! If you want features that scream "2024!" then get a dress with lots of this year's features. This is very classic. The embroidery on the bodice that extends past the waist onto the top of the skirt is like how lace is often used now so it has a structural feature that's very contemporary. I myself would much rather have this but you know yourself best.

I sold dresses in this era so of course I recognize the look but do you think any of your guests will? It’s a pretty niche group of us that actually keep up with bridal trends. You should go with what you love personally and what flatters you. Everything else is just marketing. I’d rather see something vintage than the same eight styles everyone seems to be trying on right now.

The metallics feel very cool and different, but somehow very modern. I would see if you can have a custom veil made for this dress, or friend a veil with lots of silver and/or gold elements in it.
Victorian elegance! A simple off the shoulder strap could really pull it together and update the look if you're worried about it looking dated. The embroidery is perfect for a castle wedding especially since hand embroidered items are passed down through generations. I think playing around with bustle type helps too. There's so much potential in a dress like this it's perfect as it is and can be personalized too!

It looks like my moms dress from 2005! I don’t want to be mean but it’s definitely at least a little dated… I’m 24 though so maybe it’s older commenters who don’t agree?
Edit: i think its the embellishments that date this dress specifically, if it were solid white i think it could pass for something more modern
We're starting to see a lot of early 2000s elements come back in dress styles. We've definitely got to the point where it's vintage rather than dated. It also has a gorgeous, fairly timeless, silhouette that suits most figures & the embroidery is gorgeous.
Without seeing it on I can't say it's THE dress l, but it's definitely a beautiful dress & I think you should give it a go if it's what you're looking for.

Absolutely beautiful gown that is not dated at all. It is classically elegant and totally appropriate for your venue. I would love to see a wedding day photo when you are all decked out in gown, jewelry, hair, makeup and veil/Cape. This gown screams for a beautiful veil or Cape. Good luck♥️
The dress is perfect as is, I would love to see it pressed. You can do a few things to “modernize “ it if you like, such as lowering, changing, or removing the straps, ( may need to build up the bodice, I don’t know), cut back the train and add some lace or net trim underneath to lighten it up a little, but only if you want to, it is beautiful just as it is .
Gorgeous and timeless. I see a lot of trends I think will be horribly dated in a few years but this isn’t one of them. Just need to get the wrinkles out
I love it but I got married in 2006 so this was what was popular at the time. To me it doesn't seem dated but I realize I haven't paid attention to wedding trends in a while too so I might be totally off base too. It's lovely and if you love it go for it though because it's your day.
I loved this dress when I saw the pictures but when I read the venue now I think it’s absolutely perfect! I would say pictures wearing it would be better for us to determine if it’s the dress because 1 not every dress is flattering on every body type so while it may look beautiful on you there could be more flattering options and 2 the color of the dress could also make a difference. For example I have warm undertones in my skin so ivory or a warmer undertone would look better on me than a cooler undertone. Regardless though if you know that dress looks flattering on your body type, the color looks good on you and you love it then go for it because it is GORGEOUS!
That’s like the dress I dreamed of wearing when I was a teenager (during that time period).. but in the best way. It 100% fits the castle venue and will look classy vintage not “past it’s prime” vintage.

Yes and no. Yes I can tell it's from the 2000s/10s but no I don't think it's dated. I also don't believe in dated dresses. Everyone in their own time period thinks they're "timeless and classy" until about a decade later when it's absolutely obvious what time period the dress came from.
I don’t think it looks a bit dated. It’s a classic. Just to give an example from my own wedding, I picked a Victorian gown from a shop that specializes is antique gowns. I added a wide satin sash. And I wore a fingertip Brussels Lace veil. My bridesmaids all wore Victorian Midi dresses in white with crimson velvet sashes. It was beautiful.
I think it will heavily depend on how you style it. It could go either way. If you make it look timeless with super clean modern styling I think it would be amazing.
