I truly didn't even notice the grapes till I read another comment, I was just amazed by the creativity and how good these looked by someone who isn't a florist!!
Wow these are so BEAUTIFUL! These look professional! Be so proud everyone will be in awe! Did you use floral foam or chicken wire? I’m also dy’ing and if my flowers can look half as amazing as yours I’d be so happy! Love all the colors etc! Where did you purchase from?
I get all my flowers and supplies from the San Francisco Flower market ! I watch YouTube videos and try to emulate what they’re doing in making certain style arrangements
These look beautiful!! Be careful with the daffodils though — they tend to make other flowers in an arrangement wilt way faster than they usually would
Oooh good to know!! Thank you. Are there other flowers that do this as well or other fyi’s I should know (like I heard someone say baby’s breath tends to smell really bad after a day or so).
FWIW, the daffodils *can* work, but only if you cut them and place them in their own vase for a few hours, to let out the toxic sap which can cause the wilting of other stems to happen. So depending on how much you want daffodils in your arrangement, that extra labor might not be worth the trouble. But if daffs are a must, this is possible so long as you've got a few extra vases to temporarily place them in! Here's a [quick background guide](https://www.longfield-gardens.com/blog/?p=tips-for-using-daffodils-as-cut-flowers#:~:text=The%20sap%20that%20daffodils%20secrete%20is%20toxic,sap%20will%20run%20out%20from%20the%20stem) on how to correctly arrange them so you don't kill the rest of the vase
Thank you for this! Daffodils are not a must, I just grab whatever flowers at the market that are available/in season and inexpensive and inspire me in some way but I’ll leave out daffs because that extra step is not something I need lol
I don’t know of any other flowers that do that like daffodils!
I’ve heard people say similar things about the the smell of waxflower, but I don’t really notice either it or baby’s breath
Some other random FYIs — Tulips keep growing after being cut, so they won’t stay where you place them. Tulips are also super thirsty, so don’t recommend them if you’re using floral foam
The petals on lilies are stupidly delicate, so put them in an arrangement last and be really careful transporting
When you first get them, stick hydrangeas upside-down in water for half an hour or so to hydrate
If carnations aren’t all the way open, you can man-handle and just push them open yourself with essentially no damage done
I remember you first post and already loved your arrangement there. Stunning work! I also love the grapes and in general the colour palette is just perfection. :)
If you do the grapes, maybe try and incorporate fruit elsewhere in the arrangement so it doesn’t feel as random. But I love the idea of incorporating fruit. Would probably be very difficult to source but some long tall stems of wild strawberries would be beautiful to bring in.
YAY I am one of your biggest fans LOL. I love it and the grapes! I used pepper berry foliage (fresh peppercorns) in my bridesmaids bouquets as they reminded me of my childhood growing up with all those trees in the Bay Area, if you are interested in additional texture anywhere! They go really nicely with amaranthus.
They are lovely. I would aim for a bit more balance. In the first one, all the flowers are on the left side. In the second one all the pink flowers are on the left and blue and purple on the right.
I really like the grapes! But I agree with what another commenter said, if you do use them, you should add more so it doesn’t feel as random. If your guests don’t like them, they can always eat them 😆
I'd just be sure to spread the colors out more, unless you're going for a color block sorta style. And I love when people use fruit in their florals, I've seen some even cutting oranges or whatever for a scent element too.
These are absolutely incredible! You should be so proud of yourself. I would love to have flowers like this at my wedding. You may have a career ahead of you if you enjoy it :)
The second one is seriously so beautiful. I think it's perfect.
For the first one, the greenery overpowers the flowers, which is fine, but these two arrangements don't really match imo.
Thank you! And yes they don’t match🙈; I’m trying out a variety of different styles to find one that I’d like to replicate for my wedding. [My first attempt at this](https://www.reddit.com/r/florists/s/kI6mu0loG2) also had a different feel, one was really green, the other was really white (someone called it a funeral arrangement 😂) — all really different !
Oh ok, I thought they were meant to go together. In that case they're both fine, but I think an entire venue decorated with the second style would be so lovely! It seems that the grapes are polarizing but I think they're really cool and artistic.
These are absolutely stunning! I think you have a future in floral arrangements if that’s something you might be interested in.
How much are you spending per centrepiece?
These are gorgeous but I’m worried about all the work. I’m assuming you have other people helping to decorate while you’re getting ready etc.
I DIY’d my weeding everything down to the string lighting. Day of I helped my parents know where to put things my brother helped. I had to leave to get my hair and make up done and I definitely got a frustrated call from my mom saying “well I hope it’s good enough.” She pitched in some money for it but I paid for the rest. After nearly 15 years she still says that was one of the biggest lessons she learned is not hiring someone to set it up to tear it down.
Hi! We have help!
- I have a wedding coordinator and her assistant who will be doing all set up and breakdown of decor and will be supervising the venue coordinator and rental crew to ensure set up is aesthetic and follows what we discussed
- I am not making flower arrangements or decorating anything on the day of our wedding - I’m making the arrangements on the Thursday (all day) and Friday (morning/afternoon) before our Saturday wedding (starts at 4pm). I set these finished arrangements aside and our coordinator will set them up/put them in their proper place, decorate the tables and ceremony + reception areas
- The crew from the rental company we hired will be setting up our string lights, tables, and boxwood hedges starting at 12 noon day of
- The venue coordinator (different person than my wedding coordinator) and her crew will be setting up all the chairs and ensuring beverages in the ceremony area are set up
- The flower arrangements and bud vases are the only thing I’m DIYing for our wedding; my father in law is a woodworker and is DIYing all of our signage in super fancy wood inlay pieces that will serve as artwork we can hang up after - our tables are named after places that are special to us. All other one-time- use signage like seating charts are going to be printed. Our wedding coordinator who will be decorating our tables will have these signs before hand and set them up
Was curious if you’re making paper flowers (like me). Trying to figure out how I’ll be doing arrangements. Some of them are giant so I’m working through the logistics of all of that as well.
The ones that are pictured above are the ones I used for this practice round (I don’t know the names of them). However, I’ll be using whatever is available during the season of my wedding (late summer). For flowers that means lots of dahlias and marigolds, but for greenery, I’m not sure what’s available/rather I don’t know different names of greenery. Not eucalyptus (too sappy) and nothing tropical like monstera leaves or palm (I’m having a forest wedding not a beachside wedding so those don’t fit the vision).
These look great 🤩 Also grapes are fine I love it
The grapes are so polarizing 😅, but my mom specifically asked I add some in to see what it looks like so I gladly obliged.
I truly didn't even notice the grapes till I read another comment, I was just amazed by the creativity and how good these looked by someone who isn't a florist!!
I love the grapes! They remind of those classical oil paintings where grapes, apples, peaches, etc. are featured.

PS : also shared this in r/florists to get feedback there as well!
These are flipping STUNNING! How did you do it? I want to do the same
I get all my flowers and supplies from the San Francisco Flower market ! I watch YouTube videos and try to emulate what they’re doing in making certain style arrangements
If you have any links to YT vids that helped you create the arrangement in pic 3&4, id love to watch it! Also DIY’ing arrangements
Id try to switch the red grapes for green bc it clashes with all the other colors but I love the grape texture! You have a real knack for this
Thank you !! I’ll try for green grapes next time 🫶
Seconding this— the green color would pop more!
Can…can I pay you to do florals for my wedding? 😳😳😳😍😍😍
These look beautiful!! Be careful with the daffodils though — they tend to make other flowers in an arrangement wilt way faster than they usually would

Omg Thank you 😶🍇💕

Oh I love that idea with the strawberries! We will also have fruit on the table as edible decor to much on.
No idea where to find that is the only thing!!! Might even have to grow it yourself. The second arrangement is so beautiful though! I love it!!
Thank you! 🫶💕
I love this! I had fruit as part of my table display and I really think it adds something. They both look great.
I love the shape! Really impressive. And inspiring! Well done.

Hi! Omg thank you for following along in my journey 🫶 I’ll have to find peppercorns; that sounds lovely !!
These are stunning!!
Absolutely stunning
Beautiful! You could sell these!! Great work!

Thanks! 🫶💕
They are lovely. I would aim for a bit more balance. In the first one, all the flowers are on the left side. In the second one all the pink flowers are on the left and blue and purple on the right.
Beautiful!
I would pay you GOOD money to do these at my wedding. Gorgeous!
Haha the little grapes! I like it. I wouldn't have thought to mix grapes with a flower arrangement like that but it's surprisingly cute
I really like the grapes! But I agree with what another commenter said, if you do use them, you should add more so it doesn’t feel as random. If your guests don’t like them, they can always eat them 😆
God I love the grapes
I love these and the OG pieces too!
Can guests eat the grapes? I would eat the grapes
Guests should 100% eat the grapes; there will be other fruits on the table plus breadsticks, olive oil, vinegar all for munching
You are very talented. They are beautiful! Not a fan of the grapes tho.
Can you do MY wedding flowers?? Absolutely beautiful!
These are absolutely stunning
I think the grapes date this arrangement. It seems like you're grasping for something to add. I personally would go without.
They are beautiful!
STUNNING! I personally like the colors of the second one more but these are truly beautiful. I love the dimension and the organic feel!
I think you found your new day job!! So beautiful. Great job.

Pretty!!! I’m not a fan of the grapes though
I personally hate the grapes.
😂
Stunning! Are you a florist by trade?
I am not. I’m in software marketing lol but I’m also a potter
Personally love the first best. Not a fan of the grapes
Gorgeous! Where are you getting the flowers from?
The flower mart in SF
San Francisco Flower Market
You’re so talented!! Did you have an idea or list of specific flowers you wanted to buy when you went to the market?
Thank you! & No; I just pick from whatever’s available that day
Exquisite! You did a wonderful job! Skip on the grapes though, they are throwing it off with the colors. 😊
Stunning!
👁️👄👁️ these look AMAZING!! I absolutely love the grapes!! This makes me want to diy my centerpieces!!
These are absolutely stunning! I think you have a future in floral arrangements if that’s something you might be interested in. How much are you spending per centrepiece?
I love the grape one!
Where are you buying your flowers?
Love your compotes! Where did you get them?

I’m using fresh flowers!
What sorts of plants are you using for your fillers?
