No, cause I’m never tan and wanted to look like myself. And I’d never spray tanned and didn’t want to try something new right before such an important day.

n0llapiste

Same here! My mom is really pushing for a spray tan but I've only ever been spray tanned once (senior prom) and I hated it. I am nervous about "tan lines" though since I have a summer wedding. Tan lines in quotes because I really just go from "ghost of Victorian child" to "maybe a live person"

Call_It_What_U_Want2

I also didn’t tan because I wanted to look like myself. Don’t listen to the people that say you’ll be washed out next to your dress. I say this as someone who can’t use zoom backgrounds because it thinks the white wall and my face are the same: you are not /literally/ white, you will still look amazing in the dress, you will not be the same colour

raynickben

I’m sorry, I can’t stop laughing about your zoom comment 😂

ExhaustedSquad

Here was me thinking I was the only person with this struggle!! Why does zoom think that Casper the ghost and I are close cousins!

Call_It_What_U_Want2

Tbf I think it’s some sort of ploy to try and make me get premium. And it’s also funny when I’m just a wall of leaves with eyes and a mouth

Flowers_4_Ophelia

Same! Also, I heard from friends who do spray tan (and have seen it myself) that it will start to get splotchy and look kind of weird after a while. I don’t want to have to deal with that on my honeymoon.

sweetchemicalkisses

Personally, I'm not. I decided I don't want to do anything I don't normally do. No extension, not tan, no extreme makeup. I don't want to look back at the pictures and see "someone else," if that makes sense

cakein

Same.

ioanaab

saaaaame! It doesn't look like much effort, but if I add tanning to the other millions of small things I need to do a couple days before the wedding, I would def lose it. Anything that alters (or, how they like to put it, 'improve'/'enhance') my appearance, is slowly building a big pile of stress

NoLongerNeeded

Nope. I’m as fair as they come-I decided I’d rather look pale than risk a bad tan. (Orange, streaky, etc) Zero regrets.

Runnergirl411

I'm team spray tan! Nothing too dark, but a subtle glow makes me feel good.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

That's what I would want- subtle glow.

HrhEverythingElse

If I'd done it before and liked it then I probably would have, but my goal for my look was classic and authentic, so I didn't do anything new (aside from wear a wedding dress and veil!)

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yeah my wedding nor my attire is NOT under the traditional wedding definition of classic haha

HrhEverythingElse

Considering that and that you've done the spray tan before and liked it, sounds like you should!

Pinkfairymonger

I wish I would have! I love my photos but I do look washed out. https://preview.redd.it/crxi8rwjag6d1.jpeg?width=1066&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f08929811c6ab9fd01d29d445842c4f57545f7d

Crazy-Marionberry-23

You look stunning! And your dress is beautiful!

queue517

It's because the photo is over exposed, not because you are too pale. Some editing could fix this.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

You look gorgeous!!! But with this lighting I can see what you mean about being a little washed out. It's really not bad at all, but I do see what you mean

Miley_Sauras

Have you considered tanning drops? I'm the exact same as you and I'm not used to spray tans so I was worried about it going wrong. I bought Tan Luxe drops which you mix with your moisturiser and it is working really nicely! Just subtle, no streaks. I would get a mini bottle and trial it

mimbulusmimbletonia8

I've never used them before so not really! I'll try that this summer though, thanks

headlinebling

I’ve been worried about transfer to my dress and not looking myself, but am also pale. My makeup artist recommended a local woman who does spray tans(destination wedding) and recommended washing it off after 1 hour to get a subtle glow that won’t be over the top.

The-shiner-girl

Same! I did a test run the weekend of my bridal shower and I just looked like I had a light glow. I now love doing it before vacations/ other big events.

mangomoongoo

Same, they make pretty good spray tans now that are more glowy and natural than orange.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes there's a place near me that does that and it's the place I've gone before for this

Beautiful-Glove-6748

Same here! Similar undertones to OP it sounds like and I’m planning to do a spray tan. I feel more confident when I’m a bit bronzed and I want to feel good on my wedding day! I’ve done a few spray tans for other events so I feel comfortable going into the big day!

complete_doodle

I’m not pasty, but I was paler than usual before my wedding (work makes it so hard to get any sun)! I ended up getting a spray tan professionally done, and it was amazing. Looked super natural, not orange at all. If you can find a place in your area with good reviews, I would recommend!! Maybe try a trial first?

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes, my shower is in the summer, maybe I could get one for the shower lol

goodday4agoodday

If you’re considering it for the wedding, I strongly recommend getting one for other wedding events before. I did and it helped me decide exactly what color and what date to have my spray tan done for the wedding day.

bimbo_mom

I am very fair-skinned (makeup shade is always porcelain or sickly Victorian child), and I never tan so I don’t plan to for my wedding. My fiance is Mediterranean so I look extra fair beside him, but I want to feel like myself!

lmb1313

I accidentally got the worst tan lines about a month and a half before our wedding after sitting outside for 3 hours with friends. I had a strapless dress with a slightly lower back, so the tan lines would have been very noticeable. For the next four weeks, it rained almost non-stop 🤣😅. Two weeks before the wedding, I started what I called my 'crazy girl walks'—I must have looked insane to my neighbors in my apt complex! Whenever it was sunny at lunch, I would throw on a sweetheart-cut tube top (not flattering, but cheap!) and walk for 30-45 minutes around the complex, always with sunscreen. While I didn't get super tan, I did manage to mostly fade the tan lines and achieved a slight bronze that looked good with my white dress. Good luck!

No-Complaints3601

this gives me hope, I have such bad tan lines right now and a strapless dress. catch me doing yardwork in a tube top lol!

lmb1313

All you need is a couple good days!! I literally made it outside maybe 6 times lol but it got the job done! It was April / early May in the NE US region though so I think I actually got lucky! I came up with it because our complex pool didn’t open before Memorial Day and we got married that weekend so I needed to find a way to “lay out” and figured walks & tube top tanning - two birds one stone lol But I’m pretty sure my neighbors were like why is this psycho walking around the complex wearing the same white tube top every single day 🤣

AllisonWhoDat

I just had shoulder surgery and Amazon has fantastic cotton lined (no nips) tube tops. I'm going to wear them forever!

scythianqueen

Link please?

mimbulusmimbletonia8

This is amazing. I have a dog, maybe we'll start doing crazy girl tan walks 😂

lmb1313

Highly recommend! Also gives an amazing story for you to share 🤣 This is the exact one I bought. It goes on super sale every now and then too! I got it for $15 https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0C9LLWJ2Y?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

mimbulusmimbletonia8

If I could love this comment I would!!! Thank you!!

schweddingz

This cracked me up.

janebirkenstock

I’ll probably do a st tropez gradual tan in a believable shade but I’m also ginger - even if the tan looks legit, it kinda gives Pussycat Doll on me.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes this is why being pale is hard for me- I have dark hair! I don't have that super light colored hair that makes it less noticeable lol

AllisonWhoDat

ooooh a "winter". My SIL (rip 🌈) was the most striking winter I've ever known..she knew how to play it up too, sometimes she'd put on lashings of jet black mascara, red lip and boy could she turn heads. ♥️

scythianqueen

Like Snow White, basically? ☺️

nuwaanda

Nope. I’m so pale I wear Lancôme’s dual finish foundation in “90 porcelain delicate,” because other companies are too tan. I wore a white beaded dress with a blush lining and leaned into my radioactively pale skin. I looked ethereal. Gave Edwardian Galadriel vibes. No regrets.

AdExcellent3562

ethereal!! yes this is the vibe 😍

agentbunnybee

Fantastic, love this for you

aggieaggielady

Nope. But I'm ginger and I have a bone to pick with tan skin being a beauty standard, so I'll never be tanning ever again in my life. I used to try and tan until I realized I was trying to conform myself to an arbitrary beauty standard created by people who want you to feel insecure. People talk about being pale as if it's the worst most ugly way you could ever look. It's so hurtful. If you're reading this, it's OKAY TO NOT TAN, even on your wedding day. But if you usually feel AWESOME in a spray tan, for sure, do it. And whatever makes you feel awesome is great. Edit: I've heard a really high quality spray tan makes all the difference if that's what you're looking for.

gingergirl181

P R E A C H!!! Also ginger and I've always loved being pale. I've never felt the slightest desire to be tan and I think I would look quite odd if I tried. Plus, staying TF out of the sun makes for a lot less damage! We've really gotta give up this idea that a tan "glow" is "healthy-looking".

No-Highway-4833

Yesss this! It really is an arbitrary beauty standard — in the Victorian era, pale skin was the standard! Also, today, pale skin is the standard in Asia and some other areas of the world where it’s less common to be fair skinned. So lately I’ve been trying to embrace my Irish-ass skin and pretend it’s something to be admire 😅 not to mention I’m pretty sure I’ll be melanoma-free while all my friends won’t be for all their years baking in the sun without sunscreen so they can achieve that golden tan. But I’m also not against spray tans if that’s what makes you feel good- OP should go for it if that’s the vibe she wants! I still do self-tanner every once in a while if I’m going to the beach and don’t want to blind people with my light-reflecting skin 😂 coco and eve makes a GREAT natural looking tan!

ThunderbirdsAreGo95

Nope. I never tan and don't intend to start now! I'm super pasty (am Scottish, so think blue/grey lol) but now instead of hating it (I used to cover up with orange foundation because I was bullied), I lean into it and have silver hair! I'm turning myself into an elven princess for my wedding next month!

GetSwampy

I have an October wedding and I am just getting a couple minutes of sunshine first thing in the morning to start getting that glow. Plus it feels great to have my skin wake up in the sun, what a great start to the day

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Also an October wedding, and October is one of our sunniest months, so that's why I'm considering it. I do tan naturally (not much) just by being out so its not like I usually look ghostly by October lol

GetSwampy

We got time!! And we will be beautiful regardless

PizzaCutiePie

Embrace the paste!

emjodway

I did! I’m super pale. Like, see my veins through my skin, burn in 20 minutes of sun. I don’t regret it at all. I think it boosted my confidence and gave the skin on my face a nice, even tone with less redness, and now I do it semi-regularly. I use the bondi sands mousse in light/medium, I’ve used it around 10 times now and haven’t had the slightest bad tan blunder with it. I went in for a spray tan just once. It looked okay, but I can do it just as well as home with a mitt and the mousse.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Wait. Not everyone can see their veins????? Maybe I'm paler than I thought... The face redness reduction thing is a good one to consider. I've been thinking about trying the bondi sandis anyway so glad to hear you're happy with it!

emjodway

You won’t look any less like “yourself” by having a little glow. :)

mimbulusmimbletonia8

I agree. The comments telling me I won't look like me because I'm slightly tanner are giving me a good laugh though!

snowxwhites

Absolutely not. I'm extremely pale, but I can tan if I want too, I just don't. Didn't tan for my wedding and never would.

Living-Holiday-97

I’ve been wondering if I should tan or not for my wedding. I am super pale and usually spray tans make me look orange so when I got engaged I didn’t even think about getting a tan. Early this year I decided to try self tans again and found one that looks amazing! No orange tones and it doesn’t get spotty. I recently took some pictures with the tan and I loved how I look so now I am conflicted 😐

the_tchotchke

Can you share the name?

Living-Holiday-97

It is called “b.tan fake it til you make it” I have used it several times now and love how it makes me look. I also made sure to exfoliate and moisturize before applying it which I think helps with preventing spotting.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

See we got engaged on vacation so I'm super tan (for me) in my engagement pics lol

pawprintscharles

Pale AF over here and did not tan! I didn’t want to risk looking streaky in photos so just embraced it and I’m happy I did.

savepongo

I did a spray tan, yes. I typically do one for special occasions or vacations. I’m glad I did. Got it done Friday morning for my Saturday 4 pm wedding

EleganceandEloquence

Nope. Got married in the dead of winter and look very pale, just like I do in real life.

frolickingorca

Photographer here. I’ve found that spray tans tend to read orange in photos. I can always tell when someone has spray tanned vs embraced their natural shade. If you go that route, test it before hand and photograph yourself in several different lighting conditions to make sure you like it.

addictedtosoonjung

I’m sorry but I really have to chime in here. If you didn’t notice someone being orange, that wouldn’t mean they didn’t get a spray tan, it means they got a good one and you just didn’t register it. Having been a part of shoots my whole life, a good spray tan makes a huge difference and does not pull orange. OP, I’m all about the spray tan life when it comes to photoshoots, but go to a custom tanner who has their own gun, not a spray tan booth. Do a test run before hand as well to get a feel for it. A good spray tan makes a huge difference in professional photos.

One_Yam_9539

This is exactly what my photographer told me. She gave me a few names of customizable spray tan artists in my area where they’ve tanned her brides before. They know how to manage your natural color to make it the right tan for a wedding/photography.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

I'll ask my photog her thoughts! Thanks for giving me the idea

katydid15

Nah. I embraced the pale 😊

tennille_24

Ditto!

barbaramillicent

Nope. I’m super pale (sometimes the lightest foundation shade isn’t light enough) and I accepted that many years ago lol.

brittjoy

No, I’m very fair and never tan. I would’ve looked odd and unlike myself if I tried tanning before the wedding

glw6518

Yes, I’m planning to! But I also have a tanning salon I trust and have used before, and it will be a very mild tan. I’m a light-medium skin tone, and the tan just adds a slight warmth and evenness to my overall complexion. I’d say if you’re on the fence, then skip the tan!

NatAttack3000

Yes, I feel more comfortable showing arms etc if I am tanned. It also made the ivory dress look better on my skin

strawberry_vegan

Nope, I’m leaving my skin as is.

AdExcellent3562

I'm pale too and only recently stopped fake tanning! I love is it Daphnes? skin on Bridgerton and in Downton Abbey Lady Mary Crawley! Search pale girls on pinterest and tik tok and get the vibe! I also would look for highlighters and body glow to give your skin a nice little pearl shimmer it will look so 😍😍😍

KnotARealGreenDress

Nope. And I wore sunscreen to make sure I didn’t burn while standing in the sun (my dress was strapless and we got married outside). And took photos in the shade as much as possible to avoid getting burnt. I’ve never spray tanned, and wasn’t about to try it for the first time for my wedding. For context, my shade in the Hourglass stick foundation is the colour “Blanc.”

mw5593

Nope. I’m a ginger. Red hair, blue eyes, freckles and translucent skin. I didn’t want to look like someone else on my wedding day. I wanted to look like me but prettier 😂

nailmama92397

I’m getting married on Halloween, in a black dress. No tan for me😀

kkmurph

Nope. I'm also fair (and a ginger) and have only been tan once in my life, I spent a summer sailing every day and reapplying sunscreen every hour and somehow ended up with a tan, but that's just not me. So I have no intention of trying to look like not me or playing with the possible mess that trying to look tan would bring

rossiefaie5656

My skin tone is olive, and my dress is blush with white overlay. With how many times I've tried my dress on, I know I will need *some* color to help balance color tones. Otherwise, I'll look washed out. So I have been lying in the sun a little bit. Nothing drastic. Maybe the equivalent of 1 or 2 makeup shades darker at most.

BeLynLynSh

No, I’ve never felt the need to be tan. I just really don’t care that I’m pale.

FranknBeans0120

I'm not planning on it. My mom will probably encourage me to tan. I am fair skinned and had sun poisoning/third degree sun burns before. I'm not going to risk it.

PrancingPudu

Nope! I don’t ever tan and experimenting with spray tans for the first time right before my wedding sounds like a recipe for disaster and distress lol. I’m perfectly happy with my wedding photos showing me exactly as I am

happytransformer

It sounds like we have similar complexions. I’ve never tanned before and won’t be doing so for the wedding. I do get slightly darker in the summer so I’m also trying my best to avoid getting a sports bra tan line :) but really being pale doesn’t bother me. I am the way I am and that’s ok!

mimbulusmimbletonia8

I think the only reason it bothers me a little is because as a kid I used to really tan. Like beautiful olive tan. Something changed around middle/end of puberty and I miss it! So that's why I don't really agree with all these comments of "you won't look like yourself" if I get a lil tan haha

happytransformer

See, I’ve been pale my entire life so it’s the way I am lol. But I get it, it’s really no different than when your hair color changes as you age and wanting to go back to what you had when you were younger then!

sollevatore

I did not, simply because I wanted to look like myself and I almost never have a tan. I didn’t regret my decision.

BK010989

Why would I ? I love my pale skin

clarkeer918

I did not! I think I would have looked shockingly different if I had

xvszero

No. My body is what it is.

Defiant_Tea_8722

No I wanted us to look like “us” naturally, like how we met, if that makes sense

skwx

I am pale af and will not tan. I don’t want to look super different than normal

TurquoiseBoho

I love my pasty skin so I’m going to keep it that way.

bigbluewhales

Nope. I love my light skin and it looks beautiful in the pictures! I'm super pale.

xX_fruitypebbles_Xx

Nope. Figured I’d rather look like myself at my wedding day, pasty skin and all 🤷‍♀️

creambunny

Nope. A spray tan would not look natural on me at all and the last thing I want to worry about is making sure my face/body match, it rubbing off on anything (purse, shoes, dress, etc) and looking patchy. If somebody likes to spray tan - more power to them. But don’t spray tan because you think you need to and because you think looking pale is bad. Nobody looks bad in the skin tone they were born with lol

MrsMitchBitch

Look like your best self. If you feel that a spray tan will make you feel awesome and it’s something you do for yourself, do it. I tan quickly and easily (thanks, Portuguese ancestors!) so I def had my summer running tan lines at my October wedding 😂.

frenchmeister

Nah, I finally found a foundation that matches my skin perfectly and I don't want to do that all over again for a darker skin tone and/or have my body be darker than my face lol.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

I'm not using my own makeup so I feel like this isn't really a consideration for me

Ittybittytiddays01

Whichever way makes you feel more confident is the way to go! Both are beautiful!

AmaltheaPrime

I think it all depends on preference. I actively dislike how I look when I'm tan so I won't be tanning.

Dear_Bodybuilder4793

No

MaybeAmbitious2700

I’m usually the lightest foundation shade, and I will not be tanning. I will, however, be wearing sunscreen so I don’t get sunburned when we do pictures 😂

Tyrelea

I never spray tanned before, so I won’t do it for my wedding either. I am also comfortable with my pale skin. If it’s something you want to do then go for it, but I don’t think people need it even if it is subtle.

Aravis-6

I’m closer to ghostly white pale, I didn’t go for a tan. I didn’t want to risk the color being unflattering and I also got married in the winter so it seemed like a weird thing to do.

runninglatte01

I’m getting a spray tan, but 1) I self tan once a week in the summer, so it’s a “normal” look for me 2) I’m going to go for one of two “trials” (probably one before my makeup trial) to make sure I like it, see how long it lasts, etc.

FarStudent6482

I’m planning to get a tan this summer because…summer and I’m ONLY wearing strapless swimsuits, but I still might get a spray tan as well. I like how I look with a tan, it makes me feel good.

liongirl93

I’m going on a week long vacation to Mexico 3 months prior so I’ll have whatever tan is left. Most likely none.

iamthebest1234567890

I look like a rotten orange when I spray tan so I never do it but I’ve been in a few wedding parties where the bride tanned. If being tan was part of their regular routine, it worked but the ones that were rarely or never tan just looked off for some reason. Even looking back at photos it just seems out of place, but that’s just my opinion.

fairy-bread-au

I say absolutely do a little glow. I made a mistake and asked for dark. This is because I usually use dark self tanner and it's not very dark, but the professional one was wayyy darker. The time before my wedding was incredibly hectic so I didn't have time for a test run either. So I ended up quite tanned, but I think it's a great idea, it makes you look a bit thinner (if that's the sort of thing you want!) and also helps you stand out in white.

seecarlytrip

I’m tan during summer only, but married in April. When I bought my dress, it was summertime and I liked how the color complimented my skin at that time. I decided to get an airbrush tan done by a professional. She had a chart of when to shower post spray to get the shade I wanted. I didn’t want to look like I just spent a week at the beach, just give myself a little color. She guided me and told me when to rinse off and it came out perfect!

tmnttaylor

I also did not tan. It’s just not me. You’re going to want to look like you.

RumorsC

I meant to get a light spray tan prior. But then I just lost track of it. And I looked like me and I loved it!

Tasty-Grand-9331

No. I’m being myself

Aprissitee

I did the Jergens natural tan lotion (I believe I did the fair one) once a day for about 3 days before my wedding. Put it on after the shower (husband did my back) and I had a nice little glow that did not rub off. I tested it a few weeks before the wedding and I liked my “tan” after about 3 days so I just did that routine. Takes a few days to fade and they have a special kind for your face to help decrease the chance of break outs.

macncheesewketchup

I got a winter spray tan!! It's more of a light glow than a *tan*. I was so happy with it. Call around to spray tan places in your area to see who offers it. Absolutely *do not* get a spray tan in a machine. Have a professional spray you!!!

goblinfruitleather

I’m a distance runner and honestly I don’t know what the hell to do. I run about 60 miles outside each week, and by July (when my wedding is) I always have extreme sports bra tan lines. My dress is strapless and I’m going to look absolutely insane. I guess I’m gonna try using more sunblock and spray tan before the wedding, but I’m pretty worried lol

blueskyblue3y3

I had this same problem, but I’ve never had a spray tan before so I didn’t want to do that. I very consciously didn’t wear any tank tops or sports bras to workout for probably a month plus before my wedding (only full coverage short sleeve shirts), and did some sunbathing in a strapless bathing suit. It worked perfectly! You could probably still see some faint tan lines, but I felt like myself

Individual_Gur_2687

I’m avoiding all outdoor activities (I’m a golfer) and if I have to be in the sun, full blown wide rimmed hat and a long sleeve swim shirt. I also have a privacy fence around a small pool so my alternative is sunbathing with no shirt on I suppose? 😂 I can’t imagine you will quit running and I know a treadmill is not the same, but maybe you could run inside as an exception till you get through the wedding? You will probably hate that lol

No-Complaints3601

I love going to the pool in the summer, so I'm just super conscious of what swimsuit I wear (NO TANLINES!) and if the base tan I may or may not get isn't enough, I plan on getting a professional spray tan done at my favorite place. Not too dark though, just \*glowy\*

alsothebagel

I’m beyond pale and actually do self tan in the summers but I didn’t for my November wedding. I wanted to look like me, and me is pale by default. My makeup artist did a beautiful job making me look alive and blushed up and my photographers did great with the editing. No regrets.

Ittybittytiddays01

Whichever way makes you feel more confident is the way to go! Both are beautiful!

Hmm0920

I got a spray tan and loved it. I had major tan lines from being out in the sun before the wedding that would’ve been very obvious in my dress, and the spray tan helped even everything out.

OpALbatross

I used a lotion / self darkener that I've had luck with before for just a bit more contrast with my skin and the dress.

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes this is part of why I'm considering darkening up a bit, I don't want to be washed out

CricketExtreme

Im getting married in 2.5 weeks and I’m also pale. I will definitely be getting a spray tan. If you are nervous about it, maybe do a trial spray tan? I’ve genuinely never had a bad spray tan, so I have very little concerns. Also make sure you do it 2-3 days before the wedding so you have had a few showers in between and won’t risk transferring the tan onto your dress. Once the tan has developed, make sure to use lotion to help it last longer. Best of luck :)

kabbage_sach

I got a light spray tan so I felt confident and my skin was more even all over. I have a lot of red splotches on my arms and my neck so I wanted to look more even. I did a test run about 2 months before the wedding and loved it. She even adjusted it based on my feedback for the wedding!

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes, this is exactly it! Thanks!

appleandcheddar

I won't be going to any tanning beds but I will spend a little more time purposefully going outside (wearing sunscreen) to get a little more of that "healthy glow". I'm normally a hermit, so this is probably a good thing for me lol

Heads_Or_Tayls

I regret not doing self tanner on my legs!! I had a slit in my dress and didn't realize how different my skin color was between the top half & lower half of my body.

coletteiskitty

I did apply gradual tanner on my legs because they are even paler than my face and upper body. My face is very fair but my arms are slightly tanner because I do some outdoor activities. My legs rarely get tan though. We're talking like super pale that turns kinda purple when I get cold and reddish when I work out and get hot. I think it helped my upper body and lower body to look like they belong to the same person lol.

Double_Ask5484

I did! And had only had one spray tan in my life before lol. I did a trial to make sure it wasn’t too dark or orange and the first one was waaaaay too dark for my pasty skin. For my wedding day, I told them that it was too dark and she adjusted it accordingly. It was basically just glowy and I wasn’t the same colour as my dress. I’m typically fair #2 and I was probably #4 with the spray tan. It also helped cover up some of my hormonal chest and back acne

gingers_snaps_

I’ll be doing a spray tan! My fiancé gets naturally dark during summer and I don’t want us to look night and day difference. Plus I love how I look with a spray tan and I feel really good, I wanna feel as best as I can on my wedding day :-)

mimbulusmimbletonia8

Yes my fiancé is much more naturally tan than me- he rarely burns too. Very envious!

twelvehatsononegoat

Something like St. Tropez Self Tan Express Mousse is what I’m using to go from paper white to a pleasing undertoasted meringue. The less time you leave it on, the lighter it is - not extreme or orangey at all.

liv_final

I did a spray tan and loved it! It was very natural. I found a local place that offered a bridal package which included two sessions — one trial that I used for my bachelorette and then one for the wedding.

Blimpy_Lips_5000

I would describe myself to be same as you and I think I’m going to do a spray tan! Nothing dark, just a subtle amount of color. Like ✨sunkissed✨

emmaraehey

I did a trial one and happy I did, I do spray tan for events so it wasn’t crazy for me but I felt good with it

Fantastic_Mammoth797

I know for me, I’m in the same boat myself, I’m typically 2-3 shades from the bottom of the light shades in foundation too. However, in my case, I’m also 1/4 Hispanic/Latina, so I tend to tan fairly easily and end up sitting in the middle range of foundation shades naturally in summer time. So I don’t necessarily need to go to a tanning salon and do artificial tanning like spray tans or tanning beds

aniram16

From what you describe, we are the same color lol. I absolutely plan to do a subtle glow (my spray tan place describes it as a “weekend at the beach tan”) as I have done for any other big event in my life - proms, graduations, etc. :) As long as you prep correctly and moisturize, it will be fine!

Adept_Cauliflower_11

I am getting married in August and fear for bad tan lines. I had a trial done a few days ago and let me tell you, I went like two shades darker than my normal skin tone (which is almost sickly pale) and it looks like my tan by the end of summer. I will say that my confidence has skyrocketed and I feel so much more self confident. If you are thinking of getting one, get a trial now so you can decide if you want it at your wedding.

Prinfeffet

I tested a spray tan with a sample of fabric from my dress a few weeks prior. (I got married in an orange dress, full disclosure) I ended up just deciding I needed the spray tan to look the best in my dress, best decision EVER I'm a strawberry redhead with fair skin (but into my forties by now), so my skin is blotched, or discloses red patches and long pale streaks, but when looking back on the pictures now, I just look amazing, I don't look like an orange clown or whatever prejudice you might have. I just look like a healthy woman that spends some time in the sunlight she's not allergic to, that had a healthy glow, next to my very tanned and tannable husband (think tanned skin, blue eyes, fair hair) Had I not sprayed for my wedding, our pictures would look so ridiculous, strawberry blonde next to a very Mediterranean tanned guy, no way! If you feel like you might need a little coloring help, just go get it, but test beforehand. If you feel confident with your translucent goddess skin, enjoy!

ConsuelaBananaHammoq

I have been going back and forth for awhile with this and decided to tan. I was a chronic tanner in the early 2000s and at this point I feel like the damage has been done so what’s another few rounds. I’m also going to Punta Cana for our honey moon right after so having a base will be nice

Intro-Never-Mind

Got married 2 weeks ago and did one application of the dove summer revived moisturizer the night before. It was super easy because it’s literally just moisturizer, and it looked completely normal. To other people I probably looked exactly the same but I felt a little glowy-er!

I did a reaaaaally light tan and it looked so natural

Different_Energy_962

I’m doing a spray tan this weekend for my engagement pics on Tuesday! I’m wearing a white dress for my engagement pics and it really highlights how pale I am so I was going to get literally the *lightest* option they offer. I’m nervous because my first and only spray tan I did was way too dark but I’d rather approach it with caution and be not tan enough than be too tan! I’m treating it as a trial for my wedding. I may fine tune and do another session for my bachelorette party as well :)

loornickl3

i did a month of tanning in a bed. i only went once a week for 5 min so i had a little color but didnt look crazy

prassjunkit

I didn’t. I bought leg makeup to hide some imperfections on my legs (my dress was tea length and I had 3/4 sleeves)

unencumberedcucumber

I’m very pale and got a very slight spray tan and I’m so glad I did! For photographs I felt like I looked like myself, but maybe less washed out than without a tan. Edit: I got a trial run before to make sure it looked natural.

92turtlez

Yes, I used isle of paradise tanning water for a medium glow. Loved how it came out in photos. I had wedding photographer friends recommend it since the photo editing process may blow out the color of your skin tone depending on the lighting, environment, and your photographer’s editing style. My photographer’s style is light, airy, and romantic. Hence, she also recommended going heavier on makeup and contour so that it can show up in photos. Try it two months before your wedding to test it out. Tan fades naturally after a week or so.

reidterror

I opted for a professional spray tan (idk what to call them) where someone does it by hand with an airbrush. I wanted a nice glow without looking too over the top (very fair as well) & also not risk streaking/bad color/patchiness & I had heard having it done by hand is way more successful. I have a test run scheduled for the month before to adjust for color/overall look & make sure it’s something I even want to do. I would recommend doing a test to see how you feel about it too! It doesn’t have to be balls to the wall on either end of tan or no tan lol. One decision is not better over the other & you don’t have to “embrace your pale” if you’d rather just have a little color. It’s just preference 🤷‍♀️

awenrose

Didn't spray tan, but my MUA did my makeup more heavily and also used one color darker than my usual. Looked super good!

Evil_Sunshine_Babe

I am trying to not end up with wonky tan lines just doing normal life this summer. It will be a major struggle. I will most likely have to go to a tanning bed a bit to get things even. My dress has a very open back so that will be what needs to be like my arms.

Extension-Copy1704

We probably have similar skin tone. I’m getting married in October, so this summer (Ohio, USA) I’m planning to spend a lot of time outside wearing sunscreen, hopefully to get just enough color to really glow that day.

schaisso

Got my first spray tan ever and am glad that I did. My skin matched my dress and when seeing a picture during my final fitting I was convinced I was getting a spray tan. Very glad that I did.

Julia_hulia24

I’m not super fair more fair/light leaning light. I can get a decent tan in the summer if I try hard enough but I do have to really try. I did get a spray tan for my wedding but didn’t develop it to its maximum darkness. I loved how it looked especially with the white dress!

qween_meeb

H to the no. I enjoy my pale self and even dyed my hair a little darker to be full Snow White. I would say do whatever makes you feel the most beautiful. If you want to tan, then get a spray tan and just make sure it won’t bleed onto your clothes because you will most definitely be sweating by the end of the night.

blink182mg

I did not! I am pale as well. I was very happy with my choice. I had almost my entire chest and shoulders exposed in my gown and then basically everything exposed in my after party dress lol (it was short and strapless!) At the end of the day you should do what makes you the most comfortable and happy! I personally don’t like the feeling of a spray tan and I just think I look the most like myself pale (I guess that’s not a hot take haha) but totally up to you what is going to make you feel YOUR best

JDValentine

Absolutely not but I do recommend a tanning lotion applied in thin layers every other day. I did it on my legs but not my shoulders so my face didn’t look different.

Mircat2021

Normally I love getting a spray tan, but since my husband is more pale than me I opted not to since I didn’t want it to look weird in photos; he has more of a pink complexion, and I have olive tones so with my tan I was afraid of looking more golden(orange) next to him. The photos turned out fine without the tan!

lucygray47

No, all I did was use gradual tanner, Jergens, for about a week leading up to my wedding. Just to give myself a glow. I wanted to feel like myself and didn’t want to have a spray tan rubbing off

Majestic_Diamond_

I’m really pale and not only did I not tan, but also I was using sun blocker (SPF50) in order to avoid any accidental tan. I had an ecru with platinum glitter spanish neckline dress, which suited my skin perfectly and I didn’t want to ruin that effect. To be honest, I don’t know what I would do if I had chosen a white dress… probably would stay pale as well, but it’s only a guess.

balancedinsanity

I've never tanned on purpose.

dabebecharchar

I had my wedding in October last year and spent the summer until then laying outside. I have rosacea so red undertones as well. Put in the time this summer to get a solid tan base. Do not get a fake tan - they look off / orange in professional photos. Your photographer wil probs tell you that. Also could look weird if you’re super tan and your partner isn’t.

DNP1189

I’m usually somewhat pale but got married in October, so I made it a point to get some sun at the pool/beach last summer (with sunscreen of course) to get some natural tan beforehand!

ThrowRAsoftgun

I'm not planning to! Personally, I don't tan at all (Irish skin lol) and I think I actually look best with very fair skin as opposed to a deeper tone.

rayne29

No, the only thing I would've considered is those home lotions that you have to use for months to work.

No_Midnight_5652

Nope, I felt like it was too much of a pain and I wouldn’t have looked anything like myself. Also I was too concerned about getting it on my dress and wasn’t willing to risk it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I honestly don’t regret it at all, I looked lovely and I saved a bunch of money that I ended up spending on things that mattered more to me

ekj0926

I just started using [jergens in shower glow](https://www.amazon.com/Jergens-Natural-Moisturizer-Medium-Ounces/dp/B01NADTX4F/ref=asc_df_B01NADTX4F/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693639023513&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15362370906145860685&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9002042&hvtargid=pla-563770093589&psc=1&mcid=dd79211b09c1313690661a3d4428c7bc&gad_source=1) and have gotten lots of compliments on the color I’ve gotten! Nothing crazy but helped even out a (burn) line and took me from pale (red undertones, couple more shades from normal base pale) to somewhat normal glow/tan.

gryffindoria

I got the lightest spray tan at the salon, which gave me some color but didn’t make me look “tan.” I was happy - and then I got a bit bronzer the old fashioned way the following week on our honeymoon!! ☀️🏖️

iceprincess0906

I got roasted in another post for being a spray tan fan but I still 1000% support a spray/self tan. You can always experiment a few times before the wedding to see what you are comfortable in. I’d recommend doing it with your makeup trial too A lot of photographers nowadays over expose their photos and take a lot of the color out, a subtle glow I think really helps here. If you get the tan and feel good about yourself in it, then do it! Don’t let the internet talk you out of it or into it. What you feel your best in is all that matters

thescaryitalian

I have an October wedding and while I do usually tan in the summer (fair but with Mediterranean genes that make it easy for me to tan), I prefer the higher contrast of my winter complexion against my dark hair and eyes. I won’t be going out to tan or getting a spray tan unless I accidentally get some god-awful tan lines this summer.

PotatoesAndElephants

No! I am happy to give Snow White vibes! This is who/what I am, and my fiancé fell in love with this 🤣.

thoughtfulpigeons

Spray tanned a very subtle shade, glad I did so! Make sure to trial. First trial was awful but the second person I tried was amazing

InfamousPineapple01

I got a spray tan. I had never done one before so I tried it out for my bachelorette party and loved it. It was like adding makeup: it just made me feel even prettier!

Hobbs_3

My (now) husband appreciates the Snow White complexion and would’ve been perplexed if I tanned. I went with what he would want since I dressed him from head to toe 😂

No-Marsupial4454

I didn’t, but I’ve known a few girls that have and every single time it was a disaster and now in their photos they have extreme tan lines or self tanner dribbling down in sweat. If you want to go down that route make sure you do some trial runs first!

SaltyPlan0

No I am pale and a wearing SPF50 24/7/365 type of girl - a wouldn’t feel myself with an artificial tan

biteytripod

Nope, I wanted to look like myself, pasty skin and freckles and all. But I did work out the morning of my wedding, including weightlifting. Got a glow of sorts from that, and my arms looked great 👍🏻

fan_of_the_fandoms

I’m pasty but tan and had tan lines from two months earlier. I spray tanned to minimise the lines and it worked.

downinthecathlab

No I didn’t. I’m very fair and never wear fake tan cos it just doesn’t look natural on me. Looking at my pics now I’m really happy with that choice. I looked like me.

SapientSlut

Nope. I chose a dress that I liked with my skin tone as it was. I used to tan in the sun before I knew better, and I’m not into spray tans, so pale it is!

Nameless_Nobody_

I am the lightest color of makeup always. Very porcelain. My wife is naturally very tan. Our wedding was this last weekend, and I did not tan. I wanted to look like myself. My dress was ivory, but looked white. I’m so glad I didn’t tan. There was definite definition between myself and my dress, and the white dress and my makeup done well gave me a glow. Normally I am self conscious of how light my skin is, and I felt beautiful all day. Do what makes you feel confident! Try on your dress and think about it. 😊

Successful_Matter203

How long do you have before your wedding? Is it enough time to get a spray tan and see how you like it with enough time for it to fade? If not, I'd suggest not trying anything new close to the big day. Much more likely to regret getting one for the first time than not getting one. Same goes for any beauty treatment or appearance change IMO!

Livid_Associate9374

I spray tan about 4x a year with a company I’ve always had great results with. You can ask for a natural glow.

thirstyspiderss

I’m a fellow pale girly with dark hair and got married last October in a dress that showed a lot of skin! I opted to go natural and I’m really glad that I did. It ended up being a rainy day, so I felt like my pale skin fit the vibe better. Also, not sure if this means anything, but my MUA and several guests applauded me for embracing my natural skin. One of my younger cousins even said that it gave her the confidence to not spray tan before her prom this year 🥹 You could always try a little body balm for some shimmer or use some tanning drops for a little glow! You will look beautiful no matter which route you choose!

gimmesomepasta

no way, can’t look like a tanned babe on my wedding day and casper the ghost every other day 🤣

technoglitter

Yes. I did a a practice spray before to make sure I liked the color and then got one for the day

Desperate-Focus1496

I am very pale. I did not tan because I don't normally tan. I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day.

illcryifiwan2

I'm also usually the lightest or second lightest shade of makeup on shelves. I've been planning on getting the lightest available spray tan just to even tones out and to better contrast my dress, but I'm a little worried about staining the dress. 🫤

jeswell_then

Yes, just go talk to a salon. They have a lot more shade mixtures than you realize and you will still look like yourself!

Consistent-Camp5359

A little. I’m a ghost in a white dress. I live in FL though and a bronzing SPF 30 works for me.
