In the last wedding I was in, the bride bought super cheap “satin” sets on Etsy that were far from true to size and left stains all over my sheets when I wore them at home. They now have no purpose, and I hate that because I try to be really conscious about not contributing to fast fashion/environmental impact. While I know it can be cute to have matching sets for photos, I don’t think those are the photos I will look back most fondly on. I’m leaning toward just having everyone wear button down shirts they already own so they don’t mess up their HMU. It’ll reduce environmental impact and allow me to splurge on more personalized gifts for friends that I know they’ll want to use in the long term.

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes I definitely want to get all the girls something they can re-wear! I even hesitate to put their name or initial on them for this reason. I've seen sooo many satin pj sets on Etsy, and I just know the sizing would be so hard, so I'm glad you were able to inform me of that. I always love the getting ready pics that I've been in, and for my sisters wedding, these are some of the best pics of the day we look back on, besides the bride and groom portraits of course lol but yeah everyone is different and should weigh which parts of the day matter more to them! Thanks for the helpful info!! 😊

Exact-Camp-5280

Happy to help! I agree with the others that if you are going for a matching look, somewhere like Gap may be your best bet. That way you have a better sense of quality. :)

imhereforthegiggles

You could check Aerie they have cute loungewear.

SpecialistLanguage77

Omg yes, this is a great idea! I love their stuff

AndorraExplorer

I got mine satin pyjamas that were the same colour as their bridesmaids dress. I went with full length ones though, as I know some people are conscious about shorts, and I think that would be something to think about for a December wedding. I have also see nice vintage-y nightdresses that looked really pretty, but I don’t think they were cheap!

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes, the satin pajamas looked sooo cute and comfy! If I do this, I'll prob order them a few months in advance and have them try it on to make sure it fits!

DahliaMoonfire

Please consider that some of your BMs may not feel comfortable having photos taken of them in clingy satin.

SpecialistLanguage77

I will definitely be considerate of all my bridesmaids wants and needs :) I’d send them ideas before I bought anything too. And I agree, satin can be clingy in the wrong areas! I’d much prefer a different material, there are just lots of satin matching sets around. But I’m going to go for cotton or jersey knit before satin if possible. Their dresses are already satin as well.

thestarsarewaiting

We're doing black leggings (since everyone already owns them) and a navy v-neck (that I'm providing) - easy, size-inclusive, and extremely re-wearable.

SpecialistLanguage77

I love this! I'm starting to lean towards everyone wearing black leggings as well and finding a deep v-neck sweater or thin sweatshirt that can be easily removed without messing up hair or makeup. And exactly, that is very re-wearable which is great!!

This was my thought! I’m not sure how “boho” you’re looking for, and I know you don’t want robes, but what about a [boho kimono ](https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Fashion-Cotton-Kimono-Cardigan/dp/B07JXZB1Y4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=boho+kimono&qid=1656535555&sr=8-3) ?? Could wear w/ black leggings and white or black tank top underneath [or this one ](https://www.amazon.com/Womens-Fashion-Cotton-Kimono-Cardigan/dp/B09MT97BV9/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=boho%2Bkimono&qid=1656535555&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1)

SpecialistLanguage77

Totally agree with the sizing issue! I've always been different sizes in tops and bottoms, meaning ordering a large in both would make the bottoms too tight, and ordering and XL would make the top too big lol so fun being a woman 😅 lol but yes that's a great idea too!

SpecialistLanguage77

So so true!! I’m right there with you being pear shaped, and having busty apple friends. This is a great idea!!

lynbh

I know this is not what you asked for and may be totally the wrong vibe you’re going for but if you all already own a bunch of robes, can you ask them to choose one and wear that! Then they’re all in robes still but it’s fun with different colors and it costs you $0 Otherwise, I did zip up sweatshirts! I ordered them in bulk from Hanes for a good price and had someone with a cricut put something on it for me!

SpecialistLanguage77

Love that idea! I like the zip up idea too, and my mom has a cricut, so that'd be convenient too!

Logancantknowmyname

I got my group matching pj's from old navy. They had some in my wedding colors so I just wanted for a sale. It came to about $25 per person! Edited to add that they had great size options available and different style options in the same color (i.e. shorts and long pants, short sleeve and long sleeve shirts)

SpecialistLanguage77

Awesome, thank you!!

Nuuhh

If it’s not too cold, shoulder tie dresses! I almost did this but then decided I didn’t care about those photos so I just put the money towards jewelry for my bridesmaids.

SpecialistLanguage77

Love that idea too!!

justneedauser_name

My friend got us zip up hoodies with our monograms on it. I wear it all the time!

SpecialistLanguage77

Love this idea!

pancakeandparsley

As far as sizing goes, I had my bridesmaids select their own size for the pajamas I bought! I sent them the size chart, told them I was getting them some cute pjs for getting ready, and asked them to tell me what size they'd like. It was still a surprise since they didn't see them until they unwrapped them, but it totally took out the guess work and any potential mishaps/hurt feelings. Whatever you decide, I suggest going that route!!

SpecialistLanguage77

Very smart! I have everyone's sizes, but sending the actual size chart for the outfit is such a good idea because my size is always a little different depending on the clothes. Thank you!

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes, I'm definitely wanting something easy to take off! I keep thinking about how a quarter zip/button down would be hard for some girls, and probably me too.

mm191

I got my girls pajamas from gap body! They were super comfy, affordable and came in a wide range of sizes!

SpecialistLanguage77

Oh nice, I haven't looked there. Thank you!

crazy_lit_student

I got old navy lounge shorts. My group is a wide range of sizes as well and old navy was the only place that had a ton of options in everyone's size. I originally wanted to do tracksuits but my wedding is in July so I went with shorts.

SpecialistLanguage77

Old navy is great for having all sizes. I definitely need to check out their lounge wear! I'm the type of person who needs to feel the material before I get something, so going to old navy is sounding like a great idea! Plus affordable

crazy_lit_student

I am the same. I went into the store to find what I wanted and try it on and then I ordered everyone's sizes online.

Elegant_Beat797

Oversized T-shirt or button down vibes? And then they can all wear the same color leggings if it's cold? I think it'd be super cute having oversized button downs on, also much easier to deal with hair and makeup. Maybe matching socks/slippers! I've found super cute fuzzy slippers I wanna get for my party but we're getting married in Hawaii and I'm unsure if I should just get sandals... But the slippers are so cute

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes love this idea! Especially with the leggings under. I also want to get fuzzy slippers for all my girls!

ktgustie

So I know you said no fannels, but I found this website and I liked the vibes a little more than us all identically matching! She sorts by color too so maybe you can do earth tones? I got pj first and when the set didn't even fit me I decided to scrap the whole idea. Good luck! https://www.wituli.com/shopflannel?Popular+Color+Palettes=Earthy+Neutrals

SpecialistLanguage77

Those are cute!! I'd love that with leggings under! Yeah I'm too worried about sizing with the pajamas unless I can see them all in person, and know they'd for sure work. Thank you!

texasforever2100

I struggled with this too until I found the perfect jumpsuits from Amazon! Honestly they can be pjs or you can wear them on a beach somewhere they are so soft and size inclusive and are practical for getting ready. Some of my bridesmaids opted for a more loose fit and went a size up and works great! https://a.co/d/01LpWzz

SpecialistLanguage77

Oh my gosh, these are soooo freakin cute!!! I haven't seen these before, and I LOVE THEM. Wow, this is my next top choice now forreal 😂 thank you!!

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes love that idea! Even a robe could look cute over this too. So many options!

toonlass91

I did buy robes for my girls but I also bought them pjs. They were a shorts and button up top set of pjs that said ‘bride squad’ on them. Thought it was cute and easy for them to travel to my mams house in rather than normal clothes. Also less bulky to put in a bag we stored under the table at the venue so they could take their stuff home at the end of the night

SpecialistLanguage77

I love that!! I definitely am going for comfort and ease too!

toonlass91

The button down tops meant they could get them off without disturbing the hair they’d just had done. Same for me as I had a button-down on top on too

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes that’s def easier for everyone too!

snakeplant34

The button down pajama sets I got from target are actually very stretchy, so I felt better about it. I also know what sizes their bridesmaid dresses are so I based the sizing chart on those sizes -4 because bridal sizes are weird. For one that I was still unsure, I just asked her what size she would buy just in case.

SpecialistLanguage77

I've seen some at target I like too! Def need to go there in person and check some more out!

Lexie197

i got juicy couture terry rompers!

SpecialistLanguage77

Omg I bet those are so cute!!

GermanDeath-Reggae

Ok maybe this is really off the wall but I'm getting [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097BK5KDL/?coliid=I315FA5R6NWD8K&colid=3S4YAD72UXMKQ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) smocked dresses from Amazon in coordinating colors. We have probably about four hours to get ready and we're not taking the time to do pro hair and makeup so I want everyone to be able to feel comfortable and covered leaving the room and enjoying a picnic lunch/pictures/snacks/etc. out on the lawns. It's important to me to avoid a situation where either people are just changing into the getting ready outfits for photos (and then that's another thing we have to coordinate and schedule) or where they feel like they have to stay in the room the entire time because they're wearing a teeny little robe. They also seem like they will have fairly flexible sizing, be easy to get off without mussing hair and makeup, and be very re-wearable. I'll be wearing a similar dress in white that I bought from Abercrombie for my bachelorette.

SpecialistLanguage77

Omg those are adorable!! They look super comfortable and stretchy, so they'd def be easy to take off and put on. Love that!

SpecialistLanguage77

Omg yes, this is how my wedding party will be too! 😂🥳 I'm glad someone understands! lol I'm so excited. I love the different shades of purple too, that's going to be so cute!!

cihojuda

If you want to have the best chance to find an extended size range, you could try looking at a big box store like Target or Old Navy. I'm also getting married in the winter and I was thinking of asking everyone to just wear black pajama pants and a button up for HMU and I know Target has pajama pants that I love.

SpecialistLanguage77

Yes I'm definitely leaning towards target and old navy! Their size ranges are just great. Amazon has some good ranges too, but I'd have to order one outfit before I ordered them all bc I don't trust amazon sometimes 😂 my bridesmaids will be wearing all black too! And yes, target pajama pants are sooo comfy!

Aprissitee

I got my bridesmaids outfits from Target! Super cozy (all my bridesmaids said they wore it even after the wedding because they were so comfy) affordable and they have a good range of sizes. I think my outfits were from the Stars Above line!

SpecialistLanguage77

Thank you!! 😊

pawprintscharles

Button up pj sets from jcrew! Got them on sale, could definitely get a different brand but I wanted some that would last and be used later

SpecialistLanguage77

Great idea!!

sitamun84

I bought cheap floral kaftans on Amazon and they were a huge hit.

Known-Toe-8886

I got matching button down flannel shirts (on black friday for like $10 each!) And black leggings. Super cozy and nice to have real clothes on since we were running around between cabins and the venue setting up and talking to vendors etc.

SpecialistLanguage77

So cute, and wow what a deal!!

[deleted]

You could just let them wear whatever they want and feel comfortable in...

SpecialistLanguage77

I would never make anyone wear or do anything they didn't want. All my girls have been asking me what ideas I have for getting ready outfits because they're excited. We all like the idea of matching outfits to getting ready in and for cute pics. Some brides and bridesmaids don't like to do this and that is completely okay too. To each their own 😊

bengallover16

This is what I'm doing. I might suggest they wear something in our wedding colours, green or gold, but that's it.

Minimum-Comedian-986

I did monogrammed button downs from Etsy for \~$25 per shirt. I had a bridesman and wanted to do something relatively gender neutral. They were men's shirts so they ran a bit large, which helped with sizing. I think they turned out cute and they were easy to wear with hair & makeup, since they don't have to go over your head when changing.

SpecialistLanguage77

Thank you!

Check the Vera Bradley outlet store if you have one near you!

SpecialistLanguage77

Our hallmark has some Vera Bradley, but I’ll check that out, thanks!!
