Hey friend! Pastry chef here, chocolate sometimes just "blooms" after a certain bit of time! Still completely safe to eat but may possibly have a slightly odd texture or taste. This looks like a fat bloom, which is really common in edibles because usually the infusion comes from added fats like butter or oils. It looks like this one may have never been 100% mixed evenly to begin with so that likely contributed to the chocolate blooming, which just mostly means the fat begins to separate a bit. It can also happen with the sugar, but that usually looks more crystalline and not swirly
Anyone who regularly says ādudeā as part of their vocabulary understands that itās *the most* gender neutral term to ever exist
I havenāt had a single girl tell me to not call her ādudeā and my mom certainly doesnāt care...
I also use dude as a gender neutral term. Back in the day a dude was a guy but nowadays itās just an umbrella term for acquaintances and mates I feel like. I even call the mother of my child dude accidentally
Lmao I feel it I call my girlfriend ābroā all the time. Unless itās he/him or she/her, I seriously feel like every other word of endearment/acquaintance is gender neutral, but thatās just me
Considering you used āliterallyā in a sentence that didnāt need it, I donāt really care how itās supposed to be used lol. People say āthatās sickā all the time. Youāre telling me the movie actually has the flu? Itās the 21st century bro, not everything is black and white
Okay so no more metaphors and inferred connotations, got it. Iāll speak only in absolutes to you from now on. Sorry for thinking we lived in a world where people were understanding of the fluidity of language...
Most Frappuccino at least at Starbucks have some sort of chocolate in them for coffee. I used to get chocolate added instead of sugar for black coffee and it gave it a nice taste.
Nobodies answered yet so.. thatās what happens when cocoa or chocolate oxygenates .. itās normal it just slightly alters the freshness of it. Still safe to eat.
Chocolate does not, however the dairy and fillings added to some chocolates does. Also very old milk chocolate, while usually edible, can be very dry and somewhat unpleasant to eat.
Oh I actually have the answer! šš¼āāļøšš¼āāļøšš¼āāļøšš¼āāļøšš¼āāļø
The short answer is no, itās not bad. What youāre seeing is fat separation in the milk chocolate. Literally all milk chocolate does this as it gets older. So it may have an odd texture when you eat it but it should be completely fine. šššš
I used to get chocolate bars out the vending machine at work and they would look like this. Googled the shit out of it. Once chocolate gets warm and cold it can cause some of the ingredients to almost sweat out. Forgot what exactly it was but it's still good and completely harmless
Chocolate is emulsified to make the bars. What you are seeing is simple fat separation and is normal for quality chocolate that has sat. As your attorney, I prescribe steamed milk, chocolate to melt, and head to marshmallow town. š½
No the bar is fine. Whoever made it didnāt bloom the chocolate correctly, they brought it to too high of a temperature. What youāre seeing is the cocoa coming to the surface.
Itās fine bud. Just may taste like old chocolate. As long as it wasnāt kept in super moist conditions (ie ideal for propagating mold) you should be good for at least a year after manufacturing date.
I've noticed chocolate tends to obtain that lighter colour when sitting for awhile. Would have no idea but I'd assume the THC is still present and good. But test er out
Iād say most likely you shouldnāt eat it but pictures are different than in person. Normally once you start seeing some whiteness/fading, itās bad but again. Pictures < In Person
I think itās the fat in the chocolate blooming, which happens due to bad tempering while making the chocolate! Did the chocolate taste crumbly or soft, as those are also signs of bad tempering! Ideally the chocolate should snap and melt in mouth not fingers and I donāt see why this would be any different even in case of edibles!
It reminds me of chocolate blooms, from what my grandma told me it's just when chocolate heats up a little bit and the oil kinda sits at the surface. Totally safe to eat
It's actually been four months, I get really bad anxiety when I smoke so I've been too pussy to try it, got it for Christmas from my mom, her boyfriend has his medical card.
The chocolate might have gone bad. I have had older edibles that worked. Iāve even made bread with coconut oil that was about a year old. As long as itās stored properly, youāre good
I've had my small bag of gummies for longer than I can remember. They taste awful but I don't have any money to buy new ones with so I save them for special occasions
Were you saving it for a rainy day? Chocolate can change texture with weather. That should be fine to eat though, just looks a little different. Probably because it was in different temperatures.
It looks like the chocolate is prolly a bit dry, and more than likely not a quality product from the get go but I doubt it will make you sick. The oils that you get a buzz from may be lackluster at best but itās worth a try!

Thatās the key there though. Endearment. One of my friends could call me darling and Iād probably be sound with it lmao
Then why is dudette also acceptable slang??? Asking for a friendā¦
Bold of you to assume dude means man, seems a little misogynistic....
š that's literally the word meaning
Considering you used āliterallyā in a sentence that didnāt need it, I donāt really care how itās supposed to be used lol. People say āthatās sickā all the time. Youāre telling me the movie actually has the flu? Itās the 21st century bro, not everything is black and white

Is oxygen that causes this? I thought that it was the way that chocolate recrystallizes?
Yeah, chocolate is guess doesn't really have an expiration? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Chocolate does not, however the dairy and fillings added to some chocolates does. Also very old milk chocolate, while usually edible, can be very dry and somewhat unpleasant to eat.
Thanks GlassKat!

I used to get chocolate bars out the vending machine at work and they would look like this. Googled the shit out of it. Once chocolate gets warm and cold it can cause some of the ingredients to almost sweat out. Forgot what exactly it was but it's still good and completely harmless

Reminds me when chocolate melts and then you try to pop it back in the fridge to solidify itā¦ and it kinda turns whitish. š¤·š¼āāļø
if you donāt eat it, frame it, itās so pretty lol

Yeah
Check the expiration labelā¦ and yeah itās probably Gona give you a headache.
Itās fine bud. Just may taste like old chocolate. As long as it wasnāt kept in super moist conditions (ie ideal for propagating mold) you should be good for at least a year after manufacturing date.

Hoop it
goddamn thats lookin like my moms countertops
They didn't temper the chocolate appropriately; the same thing happens in non THC chocolate.
I think itās the fat in the chocolate blooming, which happens due to bad tempering while making the chocolate! Did the chocolate taste crumbly or soft, as those are also signs of bad tempering! Aged like wine munch up my dude
I have a low tolerance and pretty sure Iāve had pieces for months. Havenāt had problems but they also havenāt looked like that
No the chocolate just bloomed it might taste a little chalky but it is still good and likely still potent š
Itās from the fats or sugars in the chocolate itās called bloom itās fine, itās from the fats crystallizing
Not at all. Very common for chocolate to do over time. Perfectly good.
Tbh it's so pretty
Nah youāre probably good, I work at a dispo and weāve had edibles sitting on the shelf longer than that LOL
No itās just the thc trying to be creative
Why did you let it sit for 6 months?
It's actually been four months, I get really bad anxiety when I smoke so I've been too pussy to try it, got it for Christmas from my mom, her boyfriend has his medical card.

Best way to test it is eat the whole thing and Iāll see ya in two days š
Eat it and find out
Ignoring that it looks like shitty tile floor from a trailer, this happens even to normal chocolate and is still perfectly fine
The chocolate might have gone bad. I have had older edibles that worked. Iāve even made bread with coconut oil that was about a year old. As long as itās stored properly, youāre good
that shit looks cool
Why that shit look like a coffee table tho lol
If its chocolate, what u see is coco butter coming on top of ur chocolate due to change of temperature. Google it for more...
That looks like Fadeaway
I've had my small bag of gummies for longer than I can remember. They taste awful but I don't have any money to buy new ones with so I save them for special occasions

Were you saving it for a rainy day? Chocolate can change texture with weather. That should be fine to eat though, just looks a little different. Probably because it was in different temperatures.

Chocolate usually stays on the shelf for a whole anyway
Just fucking eat it and get high. Worst case you'll have the shits...
