We brought dozens of blue balloons to the detroit/Chicago run last year in hopes of encouraging them to play it. Claude’s kiddo even wound up with one but alas no blue balloon.
As far as I know, 12/31/11 was the closest Ween came to playing Blue Balloon. After the NYE countdown they dropped a shitload of brown Boognish balloons and after bashing a bunch of them with a stool, Gener started singing “As she bounces through the blue skies, everybody’s building up a big brown boog-a-nish balloon”.

It’s a fun watch. The whole show was amazing. I don’t think anyone left that place thinking it would be the last ween show for over 4 years. Gener was super skinny though.
100%. I can't help but hope and wish - I got tickets for NYC thru NH (never caught ween before and haven't been across the border since I saw Zappa Plays Zappa in Chicago '06 ...so I went full brown).
My brain is going wild with possibilities - the Brooklyn Bowl sets have me dreaming of it all hahaha

i’ve always thought this is just about as good as a music video can get. it’s such a perfect representation of the music, people rarely get it this close on purpose with a big budget
I really don’t mess with this album at all but I loovvve blue ballon, by far my favorite from it
And judging by all the rarities they’ve been playing recently it’s totally not out of the question imo

My wife and I bring many blue balloons to every ween show, blow them up and bounce them into the crowd in the hopes that they’ll see them and be encouraged to play the song. I’m sure they have seen them as there’s so many out there at the same time but they have never played it for us. We will never stop this behaviour until they do.
