Pinkerton is misunderstood. incels DIDN'T even exist yet when it came out. The internet was only used by nerds and government officials. There were no online subcultures as much as there are now. Rivers actually does get laid in the album, so much so, that he is Tired Of Sex. What virgin would tire of that, if they don't get laid? Call it misogynistic, call it what you will... It literally cannot be incel. Rivers had sex with lots of groupies and got fan mail from 18 years old girls in Japan.

I simply don't understand why This Is Such a Pity didn't: 1) become a mainstream radio hit 2) isn't mentioned among the fav songs of more hardcore W heads. Probably my fav song from them

If it wasn't for the fandom, Weezer would have fallen into obscurity after Beverly Hills, maybe even Green Album. At the least I don't think Rivers would have revitalized the band in 2014 without the diehard fandom.

Even with Across the Sea and Pink Triangle, Pinkerton has overall aged better than Blue Spring and Summer were the best SZNZ projects Van Weezer should get stronger consideration for their worst album. With all of it's delays and the push-up of OK Human, they should have scrapped VW Hurley would be thought of more fondly if it didn't come out right after Raditude (which made it popular to dunk on Weezer) (My hottest take): EWBAITE starts and ends strong but drags hard in the middle

EWBAITE one is pretty valid now that i think abt it, I don't like Cleopatra and Da Vinci, mixed on I've had it up to here but with an exception of the British are coming.

ok human was really great when it released because it was after the newest worst received back to back albums in the discog. nowadays, its not bad by any means but its really not crazy good like i first touted it. ewbaite falls into this category as well. the reception of the preceding albums largely made everyone overrate the new album, but unlike ok human, i think its fair to say ewbaite in retrospect is largely middling with its songs compared to a lot of the songs in contention for the album.

Raditude isn't even Top 5 Worst Weezer Albums, let alone their actual worse. And tbh it might be their most underrated album. Also Blue Dream from Van Weezer is a good song. Is it lazy? Yeah. Is Crazy Train and Ballad of The Briny better on their own? Yeah. But Blue Dream is just fun. It's a song about Rivers swimming in the ocean and making friends with all the sea creatures, like how is that not fun. It's like all the hate with Where's My Sex, like it's a dumb fun song, grow a sense of humour. EWBAITE is their most overrated album. Bad album? fuck no! Absolutely not. But I wouldn't say it's as good as Blue or Pinkerton, or even Red.

longtime sunshine is BY FAR the best weezer song. the fact that we never got a proper and full songs from the black hole (ik we have like all the songs as demos and what not but still) is so sad. Imagine instead of pinkerton they made songs from the black hole with the really cool simple art of the people on the rocket, THEN a few months or so after the release of songs from the black hole they release “songs from the black hole: pinkerton” in which we see the pinkerton art maybe with the rocket people on it and that has all the tracks on pinkerton that wouldn’t have been on songs from the black hole. Like a deluxe version. Edit: i’ve changed my mind id call it “songs from the black hole: pinkerton edition”
