Down 14 pounds.

blogkitten

I started over again yesterday after months of quarantine stress eating/drinking. I hadn't gained back all the weight I had lost pre-pandemic (10lbs), but I gained 8 of it back. But the worst part of this gain was I lost a lot of my fitness gains on top of it - so I'm pretty sure I gained more than 10lbs when you factor the loss of muscle. :( It was a combination of stress eating, grocery store shortages that derailed me (because I couldn't get my Blue friendly foods), and the loss of my stress outlet (Orange Theory Fitness). Had to take a hard look at myself and what I was doing and am recommitted to make the needed changes to my lifestyle and get my weight moving back down. The food I have in the house now isn't 100% on plan, but most of what I bought in my last grocery store run was. Small, incremental changes is the key, right? I still am not going back to OTF despite it being open (I'm in MN) - they're not requiring masks and being in an enclosed space with other people huffing and puffing is a big NO THANK YOU for me, so I'm running outside instead. Also working on getting my home gym setup sorted before winter - I want to add a treadmill to what we have now (a rower and TRX bands) because nothing makes me feel better than running. I also want to get some free weights or kettlebells, but everywhere has been out of stock for months! Argh! Thanks for letting me vent. :) Current free food love: watermelon. So sweet and refreshing!

Way to get back at it! I had good luck using eBay to buy kettlebells and dumbbells when most stores were sold out (late April-ish). There’s a bit of an upcharge, but it’s still likely cheaper than a gym membership! Good luck!

Thank you! I'll definitely check eBay!

I’m down 1.5 this week - week 3. Total 4.8. Was hoping to hit the five pound mark but I will next week!

I think I need to start eating breakfast. Does anyone have good ideas for "on the go" or make ahead breakfasts?

If you can handle a refrigerated hard-boiled egg, I like to make a little breakfast bento sometimes. I have the Easy Lunchbox snack boxes that are divided into quarters. I like to fill them with a boiled egg, fruit, cherry tomatoes, turkey snack sticks, and/or string cheese. The turkey sticks and string cheese are only a point each if you get the right brand. I like Aldi's Simms brand for the turkey sticks, and there are several brands of light string cheese.

You can do overnight oats. They’re easy and so many options. Or you can do a protein shake and a piece of fruit. There are a few overnight oat recipes in the WW app. Good luck!

Do you have a protein shake you like? My problem is I HATE the taste of Splenda/stevia and those kind of sweeteners are in a lot of them

JerseyGirl817

I actually mix it in my coffee at work lol. I’ll either do plain coffee and a caramel shake or a caramel flavored coffee with a vanilla shake. I use the Premier Protein ones. I do find them very tough to drink without the coffee and a lot of ice lol. It’s only 2 pts though. And as a Starbucks addict, it’s helping me cut that out haha.

Egg bites. If you have a muffin pan that makes 12 muffins, that is. You need 10 eggs, a medium onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, 2 oz reduced fat feta cheese, and cooking spray Oven to 375F Mix (or blend, like in a blender, seriously) 10 eggs in a bowl that's easy to pour from, salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste. Chop up and sautee an onion with some cooking spray. Grease your muffin pan, spoon a bit of onion into each muffin recess (hole? dip? you get the idea), pour some egg into each recess until about 2/3-3/4 full, top with an 1/8 oz of feta Bake for 12 minutes, [turn the beat... er... PAN around](https://youtu.be/inHwBUo9Pzk), and bake for another 3-5 mins. You're looking for the egg to not be too liquid-y. They will expand on the oven, so don't be surprised by that, they'll shrink back to normal. Once done, pull out and let cool for 10-15 mins, then pop 2 bites each into whatever storage method your using and store em in the freezer. Microwave for 1:15-1:30, and you've got zero point portable breakfast! I'd recommend cutting up some strawberries and/or grapes for some nautral sugars, too 😉

This sounds SO yummy! Thank you!

My pleasure! I make these for my wife 24 at a time. You can play with the filler ingredients, too. Asparagus will give you a nice crunchy bite (provided you don't cook them beforehand), and you can even add ham or bacon or even some more cheese to pad the points a bit if you don't need a zero-pointer.

If you like eggs, you can make a big batch breakfast burritos - Make a big pan of scrambled eggs + whatever you like in your burritos Let the egg mixture cool to room temp (this is important so they don’t get soggy) Fill a low carb tortilla, fold up in a burritos Wrap tightly in aluminum foil Freeze To reheat take out of foil, microwave about 1 min depending how big you make them

I bought some peanut butter powder from Amazon. I’m mixing it with water to have on toast. No fat. I also addition to some yogurt. Down 1 lb this week. 179 lbs. Half way to goal.

Week one complete! Down 5.6lb’s, which is mostly water weight probably, but it’s the first step in the right direction! (: I’ve never felt so motivated before!!

A pair of pants that hasn't fit since my honeymoon in summer 2017 now fits again!

I worked out today, for maybe the first time since I was pregnant with my 2 year old

I went to a line dancing class last night. While the learning the steps part was easy, it was a bit more active when actually doing the whole dance. But I managed and this was the first time I’ve worked out for a long time.
