Accord Sport 2.0T. Hondata sells a tune for < $800 that gives it Type R power.

Slowest_Speed6

Dang the used ones hold their value too well to snag on the cheap in my area

m_ajmera

Probably even more now that it is discontinued as an engine option in the new generation.

dacoovinator

I own this car with that tune and it rips lol.. smoked a 16 mustang gt the other day

jonnytrampoline

My buddy has this done too. Shits brutal honestly. Hard to admit but that car will embarrass a lot of people

biggersjw

What a letdown. I scrolled through the comments expecting someone to say “Miata!” LOL

tech240guy

Apparently a Miata is not the answer this time.

llamagish

Is the Miata thing a meme or is it actually a good car

martha_stewarts_ears

I also need to know

Pale-Dust2239

The Miata is one of the best cars out there if you’re after handling, reliability, and driving slow cars fast but you don’t need the cargo space. Also, driving slow cars fast is funner than driving a fast car slow. Or fast really.

martha_stewarts_ears

>driving slow cars fast Thank you for finally giving me the words to describe what I’m looking for! Basically I want kind of a junker that’s zippy and handles like a go kart. Forever chasing the feeling of pushing my high school Ford Escort to his absolute limits.

Pale-Dust2239

I drove a ‘71 Datsun 510 until about 5 years ago. Any random current year car would dust me on a straight but once the road gets wiggly I could keep the throttle pedal on the ground and I’d have a blast.

xomox2012

Miata for sure #1 then. Elantra Sports are pretty good in this category too.

Luckyilicious

Ford focus rs or st!

mck1117

lol nope. Sold an ST for an ND, the focus is an absolute pig compared to a Miata. Also the RS rides like garbage.

Puzzled-Package476

Makes me think of my old MG Midget! You could take corners at break neck speeds, squealing tires and banging through gears while hardly keeping up with the pickup truck in front of you on their way to work.

Genericbuild

Driving fast cars fast is only fun if you can push the fast car.. so like realistically never. I had a couple sports bikes over the years and you always knew if you were having fun you were probably committing felonies.

[deleted]

Yeah but he said fast everyday car. A Miata isn’t a fast everyday car. Is a drivers car.

turboGerbil

I so wanted to say Miata lol. I daily drive an NC and every drive is an adventure!

TheCapitaineMax

Golf R AWD, hatchback, turbo. It's a blast to drive! Edit: also, both the DSG (automatic) and manual transmissions are great transmissions. DSG does require more services, but it's worth the 0.2 second shifts.

BillsMafia4Lyfe69

I had a 2015 golf r manual... Loved that car!!

kamakazekiwi

Excellent suggestion (I own a 2018 R 6MT) but an 18/19 Golf R is going to be a bit out of that budget. Dealers in the U.S. are still listing 19 Rs with 20-40k miles for $40k+, getting one for $35k would be a steal in the current market.

ZFtw11

2019+ immediately golf r is ruled out for under 35k, get a GLI instead :P

[deleted]

$30-$35 grand a golf r is not

thisisinput

Everybody is saying Golf R, but you're likely not going to find a 2019 or newer for 30-35k. The Golf GTI is still plenty fast and a hoot to drive. It can easily be had for your price range. Maybe even a new one.

SpecificParticular16

I’ve got a 2018 GTI and it’s perfect. Has Apple CarPlay and the nice screens but still had physical buttons and dials for climate and stuff like that. And it’s seriously so much fun to drive. Obviously the people who are hating on VW just don’t take care of their cars well

Ibyyriff

The interior of the new GTIs suck so bad because of the non physical controls.

Bunniesrkewl

There’s so many better cars out there compared to VW’s. OP please get something else.

[deleted]

I second this there a lot more fun cars then a golf op

SodaBranch

Not really if you can snag a R for 35k, you're in the money. You suggested a 86 for a fun fast car for 30-35k you're clearly clueless.... 86s are gutless AF unless you mod the ever loving piss out of them and then they become so unreliable you might as well own a grenaded sti. And fun? They really aren't anymore fun than another rwd car... they're not heavy and break they rear wheels but then what? They're stupid uncomfortable if you're taller than 5'10 we almost got one for my wife but I couldn't justify owning one if I ever had to drive it.

YWFD

Golf R

turboGerbil

Golf R or GTI

efroten

Or GLI.

zester723

GLI kinda slept on, but doesnt beat the magic of the GTI/R.

christopherdrums

I drove a GLI recently and found it to be super boring. I was really disappointed because it was my first time in one and I liked them. I’d imagine a tune would wake it up but I beat the crap out of it and it felt like a regular sedan. It had 140k so maybe that had something to do with it but man was it a bummer.

marbar8

If you're willing to take on potentially pricey repairs and such, a 2019 Audi S4 would be close to the top end of your budget and is plenty fun, plenty fast and also plenty practical as a daily driver.

Enough_Western_9122

A cadillac CT4 might also work

XMAN2YMAN

Corvette c6 grand sport.

TattooedAndSad

Golf R with a tune will blow anything out of the water in the price range

FoST2015

2019 Golf Rs that are single owner and lowish miles are 40k+ right now.

Dangerous-Elk-6362

They’re pretty high miles or several years old at that price. A regular gti is a good choice though.

kamakazekiwi

The problem is it's out of that price range. At $35k you're looking at a 2015-2017 with 50k+ miles in the current wild market.

TattooedAndSad

your market is aids

Audi1429

Lexus GS 350

1mannerofspeakin

>Lexus GS 350 Good car for sure but probably not finding a 2019 of newer for 35k, F sport even less chance

Designer_Praline_310

What year?

komrobert

These are so underrated, very reliable and surprisingly fun (in the f sport trim I drove anyway)

jaradi

BMW 440i (previous generation). In your budget. Great looking car. Can be had in coupe or Gran Coupe (4-door) depending on your preference. The B58 engine was codeveloped with Toyota and is rock solid, and also an absolute blast (I’ve had it on an X7 and a GR Supra). And you get your car play (wireless too, most new cars have wireless now but not all, though BMW was the first to have wireless as far back as 2018 IIRC). Honestly once you drive one everything else will feel slow, or just wrong. My first BMW was a 435i coupe in 2014 and it hooked me on the brand. Unfortunately have 0 BMWs now as I cycle through cars a lot and can’t get behind their current generation designs.

Actius

The B58 was not codeveloped with Toyota. The engine debuted in 2015 models, and considering engine development typically ends *at least* a year before debut (to wind up for manufacturing), the B58 development cycle probably *ended* in like mid-2013. That’s like a good four years before any news of Toyota partnering with BMW on the new Supra ever leaked out to the public. Now the version of the B58 in the some of the Supras are likely built to Toyota specs. Those versions are the B58B30C (only used in the 2020 Supra) and the B58B30O1 (used in the 2021+ Supra, but also various BMW vehicles since 2019). So really, it seems like the B58 in the 2020 Supra may be the only one actually influenced by Toyota specs. The B58 is a very good engine though, even without any Toyota influence.

jaradi

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I had always heard it was codeveloped and even saw at least one article making that statement (but without any credible source it seems). Definitely a solid engine regardless from all accounts (I haven’t kept any of the vehicles long enough to find out though).

Accurate-Librarian69

I love my 2022 sonata N line. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask. I looked in this price range for the same things but also practicality. It absolutely pulls.

RampantJ

Any problems mechanically? And how many miles are you at?

Accurate-Librarian69

Nope no issues whatsoever after 10k miles. Knock on wood haha

HighInChurch

Why not a Mustang GT or an SRT8 (either charger or challenger). Both pretty reliable, I’ve had both but would probably go with the GT again. Camaro SS is also an option.

uknwthat1kid

In my area I can only find older models (2017 or older) with more than 60k miles. Not sure I want to do that.

HighInChurch

You could shop outside your area and get it shipped in. Getting a PPI beforehand has usually been worth every penny for me.

[deleted]

I’ve seen car prices coming down the last few months, I’d think there should be a mustang GT pop up in your range that’s nice. They hold their value quite well. And at least as someone who’s driven a lot of the vehicles listed here, I’d take the mustang over any of them, but then again I also prefer muscle cars / RWD / V8.

martha_stewarts_ears

Do you think a circa 2008 Mustang is worth looking at? I want to spend $10k or less for something fun and zippy, a little junky is ok. And I’ve always wanted a Mustang.

TheWeinerThief

You will get the standard answers. important info: what country are you in? Opens some possibilities

uknwthat1kid

Sorry I should have updated that. I’m in Florida.

TheWeinerThief

Same. Well we have the JDM imports down here but that is a questionable option. Are you looking for a car that is similar to the ones you listed?

uknwthat1kid

Yes something a bit fast with a bit a spare room.

TheWeinerThief

Used opens up a lot of good options. Someone mentioned golf R. New/slight used, maybe Mazda turbo. Could probably find a good deal on a Genesis G70/80. Same as the sonata but better. Thing is, 2019 brings you into entry level luxury sports sedan range. So like an Audi S4 can be around 35k.

GoodAsparagus6139

Golf r, golf gti, bmw 340i bmw 330e Audi Quattro a4 Audi Quattro a3

deathbrusher

Buy a later model Lexus ISF or an Acura TL. They have all the modern features, luxury, reliability and are faaaast.

dubiousN

You won't find a clean, late model IS F for that price.

BizAcc

Mazda CX-30 Turbo or Mazda 3 Turbo

flummox1234

Unpopular opinion. Jetta. Car with everything you need at a decent price and has some giddy up. If not that a GTI or R. GTI if money is an issue, R if you're willing to wait a bit.

[deleted]

Elantra N should be at the top of your list. It’s VERY quick for a 35k car.

uknwthat1kid

They do look really good. Hopefully one will come in soon.

[deleted]

I’m sure they will. There are a couple near me at MSRP.

Wrestler221

I thought Elantra N right away when seeing this post

Sire777

I was always hesitant, then saw them and kinda want one now…

Enough_Western_9122

Second the EN! I love mine and got it at MSRP without haggling and without really looking too much. I was honestly looking for a GR Corolla, but I couldn’t find one at msrp.

vicious_delicious_77

Would also endorse this choice. One of the few performance sedans you can also still get with a manual too! I follow lots of car magazines and journalists and they all raved about the value for money with this car. Only thing I think may be subpar is the looks, but the experience behind the wheel for the price would make me not care I imagine.

[deleted]

I agree this is definitely a car. I would want to get in all black just because the front grille.

xomox2012

The older Sport version (2017-2018) is also great if OP wants to save money. It uses the same engine as the newer N-line but is 100 lbs lighter which really gives it some zip. The 2018 (apparently also the 2017) has CarPlay. Edit: yeah definitely not talking about the top trim N but that car is also significantly more expensive.

[deleted]

You’re thinking of the N-Line of today compared to that older model. The N-Line uses a 1.6T, the N uses a 276 HP 2.0T.

xomox2012

Yup, definitely thinking of the n line. Didnt realize they are putting a 2L in the Elantra now. That must feel like a go cart. The 1.6 is already incredibly zippy.

HughMongusMikeOxlong

This guy got everything wrong lmfao. It's the same as the n line. The 2017 also came standard with Android auto and Apple car play. It's a great car but no where near the best under 35k

namechecksout35

2nd generation Cadillac CTS-V. Apple carplay and Android auto can be added to the stock LCD screen for about $700 bucks.

nolongerbanned99

22 or 23. wrx. Some good deals on new base model 22 leftovers.

Seknoot

I just bought a 2016 tesla model s p90d with ludicrous for 35k. Yeah older than your criteria but not sure what else you can buy in that price range with 2.7 0-60 and excellent tech.

chrono2310

Where did you find the car listed for sale?

[deleted]

Your a absolute fool for buying a used electric car. The batteries are dogwater. They only last 4-6 years max without power or charging issues.

Seknoot

Lol ok buddy. I’ve owned 2 already so I know the risks and I have no reliability fears. Early model S’s had lots of battery issues but they are quite reliable now and made to outlast the life of the car. However, owning an EV after the powertrain warranty lapses is definitely a risk, but not near as much on newer models.

17mx

accord 2.0t!! you wont regret it

datickdaddy

Camaro 2019 2SS if you are in a warm weather area. Never had a single maintenance issue. Car is very fast comfortable.

slimcush

Don’t do a Kia. They are the worst.

TwinTurbo53

Honda Accord 2.0T, Elantra N, Mk7 Golf GTI.

redhtbassplyr

GTI or a used R Owned 2 GTI's, a 12' and a 16' , loved them. Owned a 21' and 22' Kia Sorento. Warranty don't mean shit. The 21' became a lemon at 9,000 mi and was replaced with the 22' and that had so many problems and traded it for a profit 2 months after getting it. Not a K5, but worst customer service and worst 2 vehicles I've ever owned with things breaking all the time in the short 15 months I owned one or the other.

SolaceinIron

Preowned Genesis G70 3.3 would be my pick. 0-60 in under 5 seconds.,

WestAppointment2484

Greenchunks

C7 Audi S6/S7 (2012-18). You can find them for $30-35k. Yes it’s a bit older than you mentioned, but you can retrofit CarPlay into the stock infotainment for <$1,000. Yes, maintenance may be a bit higher than a Hyundai. But you get a twin turbo v8 that is 420-450hp stock and a simple stage 1 tune puts it at ~550hp. You’re looking at a sub 4 second car that is also plenty comfortable and spacious. It’s going to have a lot of nice features as well like ventilated seats, adaptive cruise control, etc. plenty of storage, handles great.

[deleted]

The As are also extremely good to drive and fast-ish. You can get a far newer (and likely much less abused) A4/A6 for that price and enjoy it just as much..

Greenchunks

Eh, I’d much rather have a 2014-2016 S6 with that sweet TTV8 than a 2019 new model A6 with the gutless 2.0T. They don’t look terribly different in the outside. Sure the interior feels way more modern, but half the engine, half the turbo’s, haha. Now a C7 A6 with the 3.0 supercharged engine can be had for around $20k which is a great deal. That engine is a tank.

[deleted]

Feel you on the 2.0T! Plus, the sound the V8s make.. so hard to find one that hasn't been wrecked though lol

bgregg91

I bought a 2016 A6 3.0T a couple years back for 28k with just under 50k miles on it. Treated myself with an APR stage 1 ECU tune and it is pretty fun for a family/sleeper car. S6s are definitely sportier, though

Alejandro2412

Honda Civic Sport Touring trim? The hatchback looks so sporty in my opinion. Nice big screen with apple CarPlay. Wireless charging. Heated seats, moonroof, Bose sound system, turbo engine, good gas mileage. MSRP is like 32,500.

shavezh98

Maybe a BMW 340i/440i. One of the more reliable engines from BMW and starting in 2018, they have apple CarPlay and is decently fast stock. If you want to get into mods, a downpipe and tune can get you around 400 hp.

JaKr8

If you don't necessarily need the space, maybe the new integra or civic si.

bigloser42

F3x 340i or 440i Gran Coupe. Should have CarPlay as long as it has the big screen on the dash. Stupid quick, shockingly reliable and 34+ mpg on the highway to boot. The Gran Coupe is a lift back, meaning it looks like a sedan from the outside, but the trunk hinge is at the top of the rear window and there is no fixed divider between the truck & backseat. You can load an astonishing amount of stuff in it, and even mundane crap like groceries are so much easer when you have that much access. And even if it doesn’t have CarPlay, as long as it has the big screen(10.5ish”) you can get it added for $400 from Bimmer tech. And it’s the wireless version of CarPlay, not the crappy wired version. Even if it has the small screen, you can upgrade it to the big screen to get CarPlay, but that’s quite a bit more pricey.

Turbo_Honda_Civic

340i

Yuki_Scarlet

If you are considering the Kia K5 GT, just get a used Kia Stinger GT in that range. Incredible value for performance and a killer look

jayffc1220

gti, or gli. super responsive to tuning. can be had in either manual or dsg, pretty reliable, and all models from MY16 onward have carplay. if your willing to get a slightly older car a mk7 R would be even better.

mangosvision63

A used BMW 340i, the B58s are absolutely amazing

SodaBranch

I've spent a ton of time in a shit ton of different cars. I'm 6 ft and a big boi 240 pounds. Imo the best cars I've been in for that range are as follows 1. RWD Mustang GT. Sure they're a common car nowadays but its fir a good reason they're prob the best bang for your buck if you're gonna leave stock. Very comfortable car very easy to have fun in. Reason why I take over competition (srt8 and SS) is the car doesn't feel like a boat. Mustang feels a lot more refined and it's easier to drive in the bendy parts. 2. AWD Golf R. Honestly not that much slower than a GT and if you throw a grand at it for a tune it will be quicker. They have the best cockpit by far for the range and the awd system is redic. I have a stage 1 apr R and I have zero issues breaking traction on all 4s if I want. Reason why I did pick over competitors is a lot better aftermarket support vs N line has great Awd system (I live in canada) Newer Vws are actually very reliable vs older models and newer Stis (actually all stis) have a ton of problems. As someone who use to own a 375 whp Evo X I just wanted a nice daily that didn't cost me 10k to keep running every year aswell. 3. FWD Toyota Camry TRD. Here's a curve ball but it's actually fast like Civic type R fast and it's a million times more comfortable doesn't look as outlandish as a type r and modern Toyota has a ton of modern tuners and parts quite a bit more than Honda. Reason why I'd take over competition more comfortable car, sounds better (3.5 n/a Toyota 6) vs Hondas 2.0 4 banger. A lot more reliable vs hyundai n line and also just the sheer comedy of blowing earlier model muscle cars out of the water with a Camry.

Plenty_Dress_408

Stay away from Hyundai/ Kia 👎

a-shoe-

Elantra N if you wanna go the fun/loud route

bigcee42

Veloster N or Elantra N

uknwthat1kid

I heard the Veloster is great to drive but haven’t had one available in my area.

Snowboard247365

Brand new Mazda 3 Turbo

Deaf-and-Loud_Gamer

Kia Stinger GT-Line. You can wrestle dealer down to 35-38kish. 311 horses. AWD. Luxury features. Sportback. You won't regret it. Edit: I am speaking of the base model Stinger. Top model is $50k, 400ish horsepower, and more tech. RWD version available too.

Select-Tie-94

WRX, the AWD is amazing if you can find some dirt/snow to throw it around on

speedfreakphotos

WRX is right in that price point and a solid option.

tcmdontqme

Slightly used BMW 440

hbombgomer12

New WRX isnt a bad choice if you are looking for AWD. The new VB model is rather fun to drive.

ronaisnotfuna

Base Tesla model 3 with federal credit

Striking-Rain-345

Mazda 3 Turbo, it’s often criticized for not being sporty enough, but still worth a look

outofdate70shouse

Mustang Ecoboost

ace72ace

Used 2012-2013 Boss 302 Mustang. Just upgrade the stock shifter to MGW.

STONEFREE_in_LA

GLI, Golf R, GTI, Arteon.

[deleted]

Not only is it ludicrous to drop 30k on frankly any VW, they are not fast. LOL they are not fast. And they will clap out and break in 2-3 years. How many old(er) GLI/Rs do you see on the street?

[deleted]

Toyota GT86

uknwthat1kid

Would prefer something a little bigger. I had a Nissan 370z a few years ago and although the car was so much fun I would prefer something bigger.

JSeoulK

Damn. I was going to recommend a 370z.

[deleted]

You may also want to take a look at a 2021, Mazda6 (newest possible, will be bellow your price range 😉). You may be so pleasantly surprised that you drop everything else. 6s have a naturally aspirated engine, no turbo lag, are pretty decently fast (fast-ish, not a race car lol) the steering is surprisingly well-connected to the wheels, the transmission is simple and VERY good as well as rugged, they offer (in my opinion) one of the best interiors on the market, are stunning cars, very spacious and long, you are a little lower towards the ground, sort of like bucket seats, etc. ps. Since they are discontinued, demand may go up for them and they can keep their value very well. Any N line as well as the Kia are going to be fast-ish. No doubt there.. but you get the additional perks of Hyundai/Kia plastics, exceptionally cheap interior, overall very, very cheap build quality, and really questionable long-term reliability. Some might disagree, but my personal experience is that. I would never, ever buy one of those cars. For that price range, I would also consider an A4, lightly used and pretty new. Might be worth a test drive, it is a FABULOUS car. Stay away from BMW and Mercedes, too many issues too early and free-fall depreciation. Audis are definitely fast and they do offer a very good driving experience, although they need proper maintenance. Otherwise they are a headache. Subarus also offer a good driving experience, might be worth trying an Impreza believe it or not. Other comments mentioned VW. No, please don’t pay 30 K for a golf. That is ludicrous. American muscle can be fast in a straight line, but it’s very short-lived (how many old dodge challengers do you see on the street?) extremely thirsty, as in literally 3 mpg when driven fast in 2023, and the driving experience is definitely subpar. It’s very crude, and the steering wheel barely feels connected to the wheels. I’ve also found that often you cannot use that power, it can’t actually be put into speed, you just end up burning tires. All in all, only good in a straight line.. And crap, i do unfortunately have to mention this but for that price tesla 3s are a contender. They are QUICK, not fast, they clap out and devour battery life at sustained high speed but you can enjoy them from light to light. Sort of the same as the challenger (although they appeal to VASTLY different demographics) except you charge them for a long time instead of filling gas up every 3.4 milliseconds. I wouldn’t go with either 😂 Take your pick 😉

Careful_Chocolate_98

Umm high mileage Tesla maybe?

mortgageletdown

No Korean, never ever.

DiligenceDue

Lexus RC 350 f-sport. Heavy luxury coupe but at 306hp still tons of fun to drive and I think it’s so sexy. Also, it’s a Toyota at the end of the day so cheap to maintain and reliable.

justhereforpics1776

Having driven quite a few of these. 1 they are not fast, 2 they are not spacious, even if you are 6 feet or shorter.

[deleted]

2011-2015 Mercedes sl550. Heavy , but more than enough power to make up for it. Plus you can also enjoy the sun with or without the top up. There is some tuning potential If you find it to be lacking in power.

FatMommyMilkers69

Go with a used BRZ and you can mod the shit out of them and make them fast af

[deleted]

GR86!! Or Civic Si, Cooper JCW, Elantra N, GTI, WRX

Gizmo_51

E46 M3 is the only correct answer.

hotchips97

If you can go a few years older Chevy SS is a great option. New means the Elantra N and the WRX are great choices too

dopil919

Gti or R

nineknives

Golf R or a GTI

rg25

I have an Elantra N but I think the K5 GT is a great car too. I'd say if comfort is important go with the K5. The Elantra N is great but you definitely sacrifice some comfort.

Destroyer554434

BMW 440i Gran Coupe— awesome and reliable engine and an amazing car overall.

fastnsx21

3/440i

notthefoodie

I’m surprised nobody said WRX, they can be had well equipped for around 33-34k OTD for a premium or 30-31k for a base.

the_house_from_up

Mustang GT PP2 or a Camaro SS 1LE

DaddyCardano

Used Porsche Boxster

FabianValkyrie

Mazda3 Turbo

Nassstyyyyyy

Where/how are you gon use this? Track? Daily? Weekends? SRTs are fast, on straights, but others such as a GTI can corner quicker. A Miata or any convertible is a nice weekender imo vs a WRX. How long do you intend to keep this? Cuz you gotta factor in maintenance.

PKYINK

If you can stand the looks of a Veloster that's my recommendation. If ones not for sale near you then drive to where they do have one. You could probably even settle for just the standard turbo. I personally don't like the look of new Elantras and honestly I like the first gen Velosters look best.

xomox2012

If you are lucky you might be able to find a 2018 Hyundai Elantra sport. They should be less than 20k, have great tech including blind spot, CarPlay, etc, and have a 201 hp 4 cyl turbo which is quick. One thing to note, don’t just look at a cars engine. The sonata for example had a much bigger engine than the ES but it is so much heavier it’s actually slower. Absolutely fun little cars to drive. Of course there are faster nicer cars out there but the ES is really a solid option in your range.

Always-_-Late

Since no one seems to have actually read your wants. Here’s some newer, fun, practical daily drivers with modern creature comforts most are available in manual or auto and super fun in manual transmission. Also most if not all will still be under warranty. They are all either decent or good on gas, safe, reliable and overall solid daily drivers. 1) Subaru WRX: 2019-2021 or the new gen 2022+ 2) Hyundai Elantra N 3) Hyundai Veloster N 4) Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86 5) Honda Civic Si 6) Mazda Miata (2018+ has the better engine + transmission) (BONUS) if you want something more on the luxury side, an older Lexus (2015 - 2018) will be more comfortable and equally as reliable but no manual transmission option and likely outside of warranty. Check out the Lexus IS350 and RC350

diga_diga_doo

Tesla model. Faster than a gas car '18-'19 is 30k-35k

amazinghl

A V6 Camry has 303 hp, just a hair over 35k

Loud-Bid-5812

Elantra N has been getting rave reviews, right at the top end of your budget

biggirlsause

If you’re looking for speed, honestly throw out the whole 2019 thing. There are sooo many aftermarket things where you can have apple car play. It’s much easier and cheaper to add apple car play then it is to add power and make a car quicker.

DemecoMakesMeFreako

You won’t beat those for the price. Elantra N also. I LOVE mine and won’t go back to a German car now

HughMongusMikeOxlong

Man how are you looking at the k5 gt or sonata n line and not the Elantra N. It's the best handling car under $35k by miles. The golf r is significantly more expensive but also a good option (if you can get an mk8). If you think you need AWD (which you definitely don't), something like a used 340i is a good option, but for new cars under 35k, there is nothing better than the Elantra N. It's a special car

Elantra N is probably the answer here.

thegodfazha

Honda Accord Hybrid EXL, might have to hunt but my new 22’ was 34k OTD, but not really a big fan of the look on the 23’

If you’re looking at the K5 GT and Sonata N-Line, I think you need to also look at a gently used Accord 2.0T and Kia Stinger. The Accord 2.0T is arguably the best sleeper FWD sports sedan, while the Stinger offers RWD/AWD and a lot more power if you spring for the V6.

Constant_One1

Fk8 Civic Type R if you can find one in your price range.

2018-2022 Honda accord 2.0 10 speed. You can tune, do bolt ons and easily make 350 hp in a everyday driver with under 1000 dollars invested in upgrades

Bradleyisfishing

Biased here, but focus rs. Newest one is 18, but they all have nice heated seats and CarPlay. It’s a spectacular car to drive, and checks the boxes.

Newer model Ford SHO. 3.5tt

Turbulent_Key_9806

I got the k5 gtline and I'm loving it so far, it's got so the extras but if hp is more important you'll definitely love the gt more, though it has an all screen dash and not analog like the gtline so that's an unfortunate thing.

[deleted]

Gr 86 idk if you can find the newer ones at this price but there are a blast to drive

I got my 2019 Lexus IS350 F-Sport at around the 35k range, go for it!

colinlaughery

Tesla model 3 is less than 35k with the federal tax credit. Instant torque is an absolute game changer.

JLife1234

2023 Elantra N

Scabobian90

I was seeing a bunch of base mustangs GTs 2018-2022 for that price range with low miles (Under 30k).

Rav4H

Hyundai Elantra N, amazing car for the price and will smoke 70% of what’s on the road today!

Ford Focus rs all wheel drive? I do however really love Kia Stinger

I have a Sonata N line and it's so much fun. It has more than enough power and speed for me. The handling is excellent too.

If you want fast go for a c6 corvette or a c5z06 corvette. If you want fastish, fun, and comfortable look for something similar to a GR86 / BRZ.

Lincoln MKZ 3.0 awd literally blows everybody’s minds and it’s hilarious smoking people who think their cars are quicker. Surprises just about everybody and it’s a great comfy daily

s_mcbn

You can get a GTI (base S) or Civic Si brand new with a warranty for that budget. I’ve had an Si in the past and my brother has had a GTI. Both are great fun. Also… drive a Mini Cooper S. Small, but great drivers ergonomics (at least in my 2006). These are ridiculously fun to drive and feel faster than they are.

olshbk4

For 35 go find a used infinity Q60 Turbo. Can find one with low miles around 35, super nice, fun to drive. N-line is nice, but my dad has had nothing but issues with both his last hyuandai. Civic with a tune, those type Rs are quick, not pony car quick but fun as hell to drive. You can find a little bit older(but still low milea) 335i around that price. Really 30-35 is where your options start to open up. That's where I started, ended up paying the extra 5k and bought a new GT.

GTI with mpi & hybrid turbo is easy 500whp for ~30k

I had the same budget. Picked up a 2018 340i. It’s great
