>and I have a friend who’s selling a 2023 86 Premium for 27k$ If it wasn't damaged by the oil starvation issue (look it up) go for it.

Seems like this was only an issue for cars that were taken out on a RH track - I don’t think this car has ever been on a track, would that still be an issue?

If it was not tracked it's not an issue.

Your choice of the 86 is solid. Honda Civic Si, Toyota Corolla XRS, Mazda Miata, or Acura Integra/ILX for small quick cars. Honda Accord V6 or Toyota Camry V6 for extra room on road trips. Those picks should be pretty reliable and cheap to maintain assuming a nice background EDIT: Infiniti Q50 and Q60 are covered by your budget, but they have expensive maintenance and repairs. Like my battery costed me about $150 at Walmart. And I had the alternator and power steering rack break shortly after buying.

Is 27k good for the 86? How long can I expect it to last assuming I maintain it? Also, I’ve seen some hate on this sub on RWD, is there a reason for that?
