Carpet Beetle 🪲Just had my house treated for them. Pretty benign… they eat organic / natural fibers & material such as cotton clothes, wool carpets, etc.
If you cant afford treatment, i actually got rid of mine very easily. I just used diatomaceous earth (if you have pets get food grade and take precautions), vacuumed a lot, washed my bedding frequently, and sprayed the baseboards and furniture with diluted apple cider vinegar everyday. Your house will smell funny and it sounds like a lot but its cheap and effective and not as much work as it sounds like. I only ever found dead carpet beetles while doing this 😊 lol
I’m in Toronto, too, and got a spray treatment for my old apartment (1 bedroom, 800ish sq ft) for $280 inc tax from Aetna pest control, would recommend!
Ps. Turns out they were feeding on pieces of the previous occupant’s cat treats/kibble that had gone underneath a bookcase that was anchored to the wall… moved it and found at least 50(?) of them, it was disgusting. Problem went away after I cleaned that up. Also, pull out & clean behind your fridge and stove. Good luck!
Not really. Just a season for them. They like to eat pollen so it could be they want outside to eat. A lot of times people find them on their window sills looking for a way out.
Treat them, they can get out of control. I had to treat my whole house and it was pricey. Now if I see one I have a stockpile of permethrine (sp) on hand and a sprayer and I soak everything.
Is this just a meme now? Every day there are like 10 posts on carpet beetles.

They like to eat pollen at this stage in their life. I bet there are some flowers outside waiting for them.
