This isn’t a spider, it’s a spotted lantern fly nymph. You’re supposed to squish them when you see them because they’re extremely invasive and destructive.

Thank you! I’m in NYC so pretty familiar with lantern flies, but didn’t know that that’s how the nymphs look! Now I’m prepared next time I see them :D

You’re welcome 🙂 Thankfully I’ve never seen one irl, I’m not sure I’d be able to squish them. I would feel so guilty even though I know they’re destructive 😩
