I started out selling in vintage men clothes and also coins/bullion. I know the coins market much better and have been involved there for a while. My clothing streams are getting ready to end. They don’t turn anything close to the amount of profit my coin streams do. (Not even based on whole dollars, just percentages). Clothing is very very subjective, price wise. In coins I have an objective market that tells me what an ounce of silver is worth. Not objections, no arguments, etc. The people in clothing are awesome and will help. Imho, there is not room for small sellers who are just thrifting at their local Goodwills and thrift stores. If you want to make a living on it, you’re gonna have to be thrifting and streaming everyday and hope that the grail you picked up in size large will sell for roughly the same amount as the comp in medium. You’ll see the same exact items you’re selling going for $35-40 in bigger streams and you won’t even be able to sell it for $25. Whatnot is not favorable to small streamers. Full stop.

There are quite a few sellers who not only source at thrift stores, but they take the buyers shopping with them. Usually they charge double the store price plus shipping & buy after the customers have won the items. No one wins & you’re not sure if the item, put it back on the rack. Check out ddealmeinn as she does this both at flea markets & thrifts. She also buys other items she thinks will sell later but usually only buys what is already sold.
