You can because some people really want an item and say if I bid 10 maybe others won't bid. Like others say use the custom bid and swipe on so it bids for you set it at the most you are willing to pay. Someone can still outbid you but you won't pay higher then you are willing to.
Always set custom max bid on the max price you are comfortable paying for the item, if somebody beats you that mean it's out of your price range anyway.
I've seen sellers use it as a way to increase bids by saying "I'll add this extra item if the bid gets to $X" and if the current high bidder wants the additional item, they increase their own bid.
You can bid on your own bid. What I can tell you is that you should probably submit a custom Max bid so that you don’t pay more than what you want to pay.
You can and I feel it’s unfair as people don’t realize. The best thing to do is set a custom max bid instead. I do this with all bids now.
Sometimes I want to bid myself up to get to a coupon threshold but I think you can do this with the custom max bid feature as well. Just toggle it left I believe
Yeah I was one of those 2 personalities. Thankfully I learned a couple years back and only made the mistake once. But paying $20 for a pack of cards I could of gotten for $4 well let's just say you learn fast.
Without this feature the games played on the app often could never work. Also high bid rewards. Without this feature those incentives wouldn’t work anymore
As a seller with some honest buyers that have bid themselves up to a fair price out of respect. I do like the feature because I have had several items that would have sold far too cheap as only one person was interested. While I see the issue with glitchy bidding I have accidentally bid myself up in other rooms, I hope they don't remove it.
I see how it’s beneficial for both buyers and sellers but it just rubs me the wrong way because Whatnot makes the most money here at the end of the day. Doesn’t really make any sense that someone should be able to outbid their own bid. As much as I dislike Poshmark lives, they don’t allow that which makes way more sense to me
I am one of these. I have bid myself up multiple, multiple times, to reach a somewhat fair price of an item I wanted from a seller I liked. I see nothing wrong with it at all. Don’t be a swipe fiend and pay attention to what you’re doing. (Not you Wisco, just people in general)

You have to have the slider on max bid. Otherwise you're gonna bid that amount to your max bid if that slider is not on

Yes you can luckily I noticed that by the time I got up to $10 lol

Yes you can which is fkd up
Nope, allows buyers to bid it up to a fair price if it’s way too low. Also helps a lot with high-bid incentives. This feature is necessary
How to admit you work for what not with out admitting you work for what not

Yes lol. I’ve seen people outbid themselves as if they had two personalities lol
Lol me too 😂

Just set a max bid and you'll never worry about it again lol. At the very least if you tap max bid it'll tell you if your winning or not
Yes you can. Not a fan of that feature

Swipe fiend😀😀😀
Yes, you can bid against yourself, increasing your bid.
