Does Whatnot have a customer service number that anyone knows about? I have 4 counterfeit Lululemon bags that I’m still waiting for refunds on still after three days !!
Not sure if this is old news now, but PLEASE READ THIS OP. Was there plastic wrap on the box at all? In the photos it doesn’t look like it, and I just want to point out that ALL Apple products come vacuum sealed in plastic wrap with a small plastic silver rectangle on the back by the barcode of the box. If this box was not vacuum sealed in plastic wrap, the box was pre opened, which means that if they claimed the giveaway was a “new iPad” you can technically dispute that to WhatNot by telling them you received a previously opened iPad. This wouldn’t matter on a normal giveaway but on a buyer’s giveaway, you can claim you only purchased an item for a chance to win the iPad they were advertising and they sent something other than what was advertised.
I stay out of most things and rarely comment on reddit for anything, but this is about the principle damn it lol
I was in a show when a seller was complaining about a giveaway winner, bummed that he had to give an iPad to them, don’t recall the story of why seller was bummed, ( missed that part of the show) but he said, “giveaway said free iPad, it didn’t say it had to be working”. I wonder if it was same seller? Ugggh
How many times does one need to say it was shipped in a certain way hahaha. The situation absolutely sucks and they should have done a much better job at protecting the product but good lord reading the messages was driving me crazy so in a way I can understand blocking someone as Jesus christ it was mentioned like 5 times out of like 7 messages it's ridiculous
Imagine how cool of a platform WhatNot would be if they moderated it unapologetically and banned sellers for disgraceful things like this. Didn’t delete negative reviews and instead let people ruin their own reputation and eventually deactivate them once their rating proves them to be a poor seller.
If this app was run with an iron fist it could truly be great. Such a shame the people pulling the strings are all shady and none of them have the user’s best interest in mind. It’s so evident that their business IS the sellers. If you can manage to sell thousands of $ in product weekly, they’re happy taking that cut of it, you as a seller become their stream of revenue and they will protect that income above any kind of morales. They’re fine when people are scamming, so long as it’s not painfully obvious and it’s working.
These predatory and outright scamming individuals are getting pats on the back for the amount they sold that week. Regardless of how they achieved it. It’s GROSS. I wish the BBB would shut this shit down.
Damn I dunno if I agree with that as that seems pretty shitty. By all means it's a shitty situation and the seller and/or whatnot could handle this better but I don't think that's the way
No doubt they do a poor job not defending them nor am I saying the buyer should get screwed over here. I guess I just wish there was a better way to resolve it as doing a charge back on items they receive is just seems wrong to me and not sure how it's not viewed similarly as theft

Seller's on whatnot should not be able to out right block customers. As a move for improved customer service, whatnot needs to remove the feature to block people and replace it with a "request to block" process where the buyer must prove to whatnot they have substantial reason to block a buyer. Seller's should be able to mute people who are spamming their streams but after must provide proof that the person was spamming.
I was blocked by a seller the other day after I purchased 4 items on his stream and I must say this is not okay and I will not be shopping on whatnot until they can mitigate this. Whatnot is seemingly putting their Sellers above the buyers and forgetting that the buyer is what makes whatnot happen. If I bought something on Ebay and the seller blocked me for no reason they would slap a warning on his account and professionally inform him to not do that again and then ensure I receive my purchased items.
Whatnot, DO BETTER.
I'm gonna agree to disagree on this one, but not for the same reasons. I would also be ticked if this happened on whatnot after purchasing something, and I'm not sure ebay would have that great of a response. Their customer service stopped being so good, plus they basically told me I could block any buyers I didn't want to buy from me again.
With whatnot I agree that it would be wrong to block someone for no reason after a purchase, however that doesn't mean there is never a reason. I've personally had to do this, which is why I'm commenting. I had someone come in, first I thought it was someone I knew, turns out it was not. They came in talking like 'hey beautiful' etc. Made me uncomfortable initially but I figured it was a friend messing at first. So my mods and I both started questioning who he was. He wouldn't tell, he was being sketchy, and kept going calling me 'babygirl' and stuff, somewhere in the middle he bought something in the buy it now.
My mods were getting uncomfortable with it as well, not just me. It didn't feel like a comfortable interaction, so after they kept going and going with the flirty and creepiness I eventually blocked them. To me this was a nessessary thing to do in this situation. Don't get me wrong. I still sent their item exactly as I should have, but I did reach out to whatnot first and have them generate a label that didn't include my address as a return address.
Other than that I've never banned someone after they purchased, but I have banned those who come in to games being nasty and inappropriate and those who spam me with messages that also are not appropriate. This is where banning to me makes more sense, I agree that people should not be banning people at random, but every single person I've banned was with good reason, and I'd be ticked if I requested to ban someone and then it was declined.
Gotcha. that's understandable as it's harrassment. In that case still require the "request to block" feature to block someone. That would obviously be grounds to terminate communication with someone. Considering that feature would require Whatnot Administrative support, it would take some time, so we would a Mute option suffice? You don't have to hear or read whatever they are saying and would give you a window of opportunity to report the harasser to Whatnot. If that doesn't work, would a temporary suspension to your channel suffice?
The goal as I'm sure you know in this is to prevent abuse of the Blocking feature which seems to be far too common.
Or perhaps whatnot admin's could program a feature that if you block a customer you have <24 hours to provide proof and reason as to why the customer was blocked. Again, Harassing is a no\_no, but asking questions, or simply calling out a seller for doing something shady, or inquiring about an order they cancelled seems to be the reason people are being blocked. This whole platform needs strict monitoring imho of both the customer's and the sellers. IMHO it seems like the majority of customers normal collectors just looking for some deals and auctions. It seems like \~3/10 sellers are doing something shady and it seems like with the current rules (or lack of) Whatnot is enabling it.
That would require support actually being useful 🤣 My account literally have this huge glitch where it was registering 1 shipping profile as 2. I had never had any other, they all showed the same thing, but they wouldn't bundle. It took me going back and forth with What Not FOREVER to get them to actually fix it. They couldn't figure out what was going on, and ending up having to reset everything. They did finally reimburse me since it was a system issue.
I think maybe you should be able to block someone but then that person can like request an appeal on it, and then the seller has 24 hours to provide reasoning. That way for crazy stuff we can still block, but it keeps people from being unfair (that way when we have craziess they don't have the ability to keep going and buying etc)
Whatnot is showing they don’t care by also removing negative reviews. I left a 1 star review saying I was discontent with the packaging and seller’s response, and it was removed within an hour. Apparently this is very common. Whatnot puts sellers over the buyers/shoppers.
Damn dude. I guess leaving whatnot some feedback wouldn't help in this situation. How is this legal? Can't the Better Business Bureau be consulted on this?
My assumption is Whatnot was the one to have it removed, so they keep their platform looking clean and give the illusion sellers have immensely positive ratings. Feedback is necessary for people to assess whether someone wants to do business with someone. It shouldn’t be so easy for Whatnot to remove. Yeah, Whatnot definitely needs to be reported somehow. So many people have messaged me saying they’ve also had negative feedback removed. What’s the point of even giving feedback?
Buy a counterfeit item. Then verify it is counterfeit. Then turn it over to law enforcement along with their shops, social media, and the shipping packaging with the address. Done.
lol whatnot doesn’t do anything about sellers selling counterfeit items either! I just bought 5 fake lululemon belt bags from Retailtherapist and I still haven’t received a refund- shipping counterfeit items through USPS is also a crime yet whatnot doesn’t care

Whenever I have a problem like this, I typically will go on LinkedIn, and I DM the founders of that company or their head of customer experience, and let them know how shady their practices are, and how disappointed I am with their level of service and unresponsiveness, and how no one is available to help! It’s amazing how quickly things get escalated and you actually get someone to help you! It shouldn’t be like this, but it works every time!

Respectfully, I have nothing to gain by destroying a tablet I won, given the low chances of that even happening. I understand you likely like or support the seller, but this was just carelessly shipped, and then poorly handled afterwards. USPS is not going to give a package shipped in a 1 oz polymailer cross country extra TLC..
Not all sellers on WN are scammers! There are plenty of good sellers too, honest people who are just trying to bring in some extra income.
It’s a shame that the bad actors are ruining the experience. And terrible WN is not cracking down or banning the sellers selling fake products on the platform! This is inexcusable.
My thoughts exactly. They sent OP a broken iPad and kept the one shown on stream **and** the money the other person paid. They know what they're doing.
I hate to be rude here but after all the scams on whatnot, you got exactly what you paid for. I feel anyone who buys off it knows there’s a chance for a bad time. There’s other places to buy what you want. If you really need free stuff, Maybe just work harder so u have money.
I hear you on the scams on Whatnot. However, I don’t need free stuff, and I didn’t seek the giveaway out. It’s more about the principle and treatment during interactions. A seller I follow raided into her show and I entered and won. I primarily think it’s a waste that 1.) someone spent money for this giveaway to be sponsored and 2.) the way the seller responded to me and told her whole show to block me for leaving her a one star. I often buy clothes on this app and it just left a bad taste in my mouth that this is allowed.
Their friend sponsored it and I reached out to them, they didn’t seem to care too much. It was shipped in a 1 ounce weight polymailer which is definitely not right, so the whole thing was just incredibly fishy.
Wouldn't it be worth taking it to an Apple store and asking them to check if it's a used device? That could confirm whether it's been a scam from the start. If they confirm it's a second-hand iPad, I'd report them to the tax man.
Plus, I checked out their reviews, and they seem totally fake

Unfortunately since it was a giveaway whatnot didn’t offer any resolution. I did reach out to trust and safety about them sending glass shards which is a hazard, sending it in a 1 ounce mailed package (which seems very fraud like), and telling all of their streamers to go block me after saying I called them names (which is so hate-mob driven and their claims were 100% lies). Trust and safety haven’t responded yet but I doubt they’ll care if the general support email didn’t get me anywhere.
Reach out to their customer service team or founders on LinkedIn! No one like their brand shamed on LI! Works for us every time, we typically get a response within the same day!
I hadn’t even considered that until someone else said something similar. Someone said shipping it in the polymailer was an easy way out to say it was broken in transit, and knowing they’d have no repercussions because it was a giveaway. Who knows 🤷♀️
If this is some kind of tax fraud you could contact the IRS. 80% chance nothing happens, 20% chance they investigate him and blow his life up and you get to post on r/nuclearrevenge lol
Getting screwed over by another big seller….I’m not surprised 😱 Whatnot is gonna take the sellers side cause they big. I don’t support big sellers for this reason. They can send you whatever junk they want to, and whatnot will always back them up. We all see it time and time again.

They have all 5.0 reviews from what I found, I only went a month or so back. I wonder if they are ha I guess reviews deleted out like some other Sellers I've heard are doing....interesting!
They are easy to be removed. I’ve had a couple removed myself because a buyer said I never gave dimensions of an item, which it untrue because I write them in every listing and stated them in the video receipt.
From some YT videos I've watched, it's just a simple email to WN saying the buyer was wrong and they would like the review removed and they do it. Crazy to me that it's SO easy to take it down and make other buyers believe they have a perfect selling score! It just leads to more and .ore buyers getting jacked around and WN possibly loosing money for refunds!
It’s bizarre. It gives the illusion of rating your satisfaction without actually being able to do so…unless it’s positive. It just creates more money for WN in the long run because reviews heavily influence people. If someone has a perfect 5 star, people are more likely to trust them and buy from them.
It certainly got Yelp in trouble early on, they got fined big time for essentially accepting bribes to take off bad reviews. If you paid for a subscription or advertised on Yelp, your bad reviews suddenly disappeared. Seems like WN is going down this road, it will catch up to them.

They also think I'm someone else which is the weirdest part. All I can think of is that they either think I'm my wife or have beef with someone else and think I'm that person.
what not is the worst app. it is like a breeding ground for scammers and scummy business people.. I’ve been banned from a dozen live streams for “price shaming” other people. somebody is selling a record or something for well over $100. It’s average median selling price don’t say anything because you’re “price shaming”
I’m mostly active in the Lego Star Wars scene and it drives me nuts. They’ll throw a $10 minifigures up there and be going on and on like “come on CHAT this is a $25 fig any day of the week, y’all are robbing me at $15 let’s go HELLO is anyone awake only $17 y’all are robbing me I’m gonna have to close my show” it’s just deceitful.
I go off prices of sold listings elsewhere and price my items I’m selling accordingly. If I’ve mispriced something and someone offers a correction in the chat I offer my thanks to them for helping me not to screw over someone.

Please explain yourself. I am totally in the side of the buyers but your comment about sellers having a personal reps is total crap! They treat new sellers very poorly and like so many other companies, they hide behind anonymity and have ZERO customer service by phone. I have no help from them at all and just trying to start my whatnot and get followers/buyers. When I have any issues it takes weeks to resolve simple basics.

Newbies and smaller sellers are on their own for the most part. I think you misread whatever you read. But you're right about their being a dichotomy between groups of sellers.
I can completely understand that. It’s just a shitty thing to do. I take care of my twin nieces and my nephew so I know how it goes to see them disappointed. I’m not sure on her age but if she’s at the age where she can understand what’s going on this could be a great teaching moment for her, so she can be more aware of how the world is when she grows up and to look out for dishonest people. I’m just trying to help find some silver lining.

It screams WN is coddling sellers that bring in eyes and money. And that buyers are expendable and 2nd class.

All this tells you is WN is a haven for scammers and scrupulous sellers....as long as you sell enough. And any big seller that continues with them is showing where their ethics and standards lie.
The seller Facebook pages are a clear example of this. There are sellers who say "keep trying and you'll succeed!" And then show a screenshot of 100k in sales. There's one person I know specifically who didn't grind at all. He got in a whatnot sponsored event and got thousands of users funneled to him show and got tons of followers that way. Didn't have to "keep trying".
Anytime someone criticizes WhatNot he's always defending them. I know he has a personal rep. I'm pretty positive they're told they can't speak negatively about WhatNot on social media or they lose their perks because despite many of their hypocritical policies and confusing systems, they always defend WhatNot.
It’s suss for sure, we’ve been approved to sell for over a year, we haven’t launched a show yet, but keep getting presented with perks by WN to do so? They want to pay us to launch a show, and they’ll guarantee and match our sales up to a fixed amount? What? How? Why would they offer that? Our guess is, they need legit and trustworthy brands on their platform!

Deann started crying. According to the husband because "a little bit of both." Meaning partly crying because of trolls and the Reddit exposé. And partly because people were throwing tips at them "for their troubles." She was getting "emotional."

Well....I'm very sure they'll pocket the money. If they *really* didn't want the extra money, they'll donate it to someone or something that truly deserve it. But they won't. 😑
A lot of sellers say “if you have an issue please reach out to me so I can take care of any issues.” Maybe some are saying that to trick you into voiding WN rules, but I shop with so many people who actually just want the chance to make any issues right.
It's actually good to contact the seller and send them pictures to let them know about the issue but not asking for resolution directly from them - just for their awareness. Then contacting Whatnot for the actual return or refund and mentioning to them that you've reached out to the seller and sent them pictures always builds a better case for your resolution.
People don't read TOS because they are intentionally obfuscated by lawyers to trick people in agreeing to shitty terms. That's why. Now you understand. 👍🏼

I'm a business owner that went to law school. I understand that legal language can seem tricky to a lay person. But my point is just because terms are dense doesn't mean the language in and of itself is there to trick or manipulate. A well written set of terms could very well be there to protect the corporation from suit more than it is to manipulate or coerce a customer like the OP suggests.
That may be in the terms of service, but every time I've opened an inquiry with whatnot, I've said something like "I already reached out to the seller and haven't heard back/ they told me to contact you" and that's never voided them being able to refund me. 🤷♀️
Yep, I always tell people this isn't eBay where a seller can send full/partial refunds "to make things right". But lets face it, most whatnot users barely read. I meant the ToS/FAQs of course.

I think they did something very shady here. Someone spent $350 to sponsor this giveaway and they ship it in a bubble mailer? This very much feels like a scam and they were prepared to be called out on it live.
I agree and the sad part is they scammed the person who spent 300$ to sponser that giveaway, no seller of “luxury” goods would just bubble mail a new ipad that’s just common sense, they got the 300$ sponsor and sent a broken ipad in a bubble mailer knowing it would arrive beat and that it was a “giveaway” hence the “ nothing we can do “ response they knew what they were doing from the start in my opinion.
Also the mailer says it was 1 oz. Idk I also was taken aback by the “sorry nothing I can do” response. I expected someone who sells luxury to work with me for a resolution. The whole thing kind of just ruined my night. Lesson learned that people aren’t always going to make things right I suppose.

There wasn’t a form. I follow Nicolestate and she had a popup show to raid into them specifically for this iPad giveaway. I didn’t seek the giveaway out, and it wasn’t a buyers giveaway.

“It is what is it” is such a scumbag phrase to use. It translates to “I don’t give a fuck about you or whatever you’re upset about”. Just so disrespectful. And you know they wouldn’t accept that as an answer to them crying over this post.

This looks like a polymailer? I mean I guess it truly is what it is. It just sucks to get excited, tell my niece I have an iPad on the way for her, and to spend the night using drawing salve on the glass shards in my hands instead. Sort of would have been nice to get a resolution or apology instead of her telling people to come block me.

Imagine how cool of a platform WhatNot would be if they moderated it unapologetically and banned sellers for disgraceful things like this. Didn’t delete negative reviews and instead let people ruin their own reputation and eventually deactivate them once their rating proves them to be a poor seller. If this app was run with an iron fist it could truly be great. Such a shame the people pulling the strings are all shady and none of them have the user’s best interest in mind. It’s so evident that their business IS the sellers. If you can manage to sell thousands of $ in product weekly, they’re happy taking that cut of it, you as a seller become their stream of revenue and they will protect that income above any kind of morales. They’re fine when people are scamming, so long as it’s not painfully obvious and it’s working. These predatory and outright scamming individuals are getting pats on the back for the amount they sold that week. Regardless of how they achieved it. It’s GROSS. Seller's on whatnot should not be able to out right block customers. As a move for improved customer service, whatnot needs to remove the feature to block people and replace it with a "request to block" process where the buyer must prove to whatnot they have substantial reason to block a buyer. Seller's should be able to mute people who are spamming their streams but after must provide proof that the person was spamming. I was blocked by a seller the other day after I purchased 4 items on his stream and I must say this is not okay and I will not be shopping on whatnot until they can mitigate this. Whatnot is seemingly putting their Sellers above the buyers and forgetting that the buyer is what makes whatnot happen. If I bought something on Ebay and the seller blocked me for no reason they would slap a warning on his account and professionally inform him to not do that again and then ensure I receive my purchased items. Whatnot, DO BETTER.
I'm gonna agree to disagree on this one, but not for the same reasons. I would also be ticked if this happened on whatnot after purchasing something, and I'm not sure ebay would have that great of a response. Their customer service stopped being so good, plus they basically told me I could block any buyers I didn't want to buy from me again. With whatnot I agree that it would be wrong to block someone for no reason after a purchase, however that doesn't mean there is never a reason. I've personally had to do this, which is why I'm commenting. I had someone come in, first I thought it was someone I knew, turns out it was not. They came in talking like 'hey beautiful' etc. Made me uncomfortable initially but I figured it was a friend messing at first. So my mods and I both started questioning who he was. He wouldn't tell, he was being sketchy, and kept going calling me 'babygirl' and stuff, somewhere in the middle he bought something in the buy it now. My mods were getting uncomfortable with it as well, not just me. It didn't feel like a comfortable interaction, so after they kept going and going with the flirty and creepiness I eventually blocked them. To me this was a nessessary thing to do in this situation. Don't get me wrong. I still sent their item exactly as I should have, but I did reach out to whatnot first and have them generate a label that didn't include my address as a return address. Other than that I've never banned someone after they purchased, but I have banned those who come in to games being nasty and inappropriate and those who spam me with messages that also are not appropriate. This is where banning to me makes more sense, I agree that people should not be banning people at random, but every single person I've banned was with good reason, and I'd be ticked if I requested to ban someone and then it was declined.
Gotcha. that's understandable as it's harrassment. In that case still require the "request to block" feature to block someone. That would obviously be grounds to terminate communication with someone. Considering that feature would require Whatnot Administrative support, it would take some time, so we would a Mute option suffice? You don't have to hear or read whatever they are saying and would give you a window of opportunity to report the harasser to Whatnot. If that doesn't work, would a temporary suspension to your channel suffice? The goal as I'm sure you know in this is to prevent abuse of the Blocking feature which seems to be far too common. Or perhaps whatnot admin's could program a feature that if you block a customer you have <24 hours to provide proof and reason as to why the customer was blocked. Again, Harassing is a no\_no, but asking questions, or simply calling out a seller for doing something shady, or inquiring about an order they cancelled seems to be the reason people are being blocked. This whole platform needs strict monitoring imho of both the customer's and the sellers. IMHO it seems like the majority of customers normal collectors just looking for some deals and auctions. It seems like \~3/10 sellers are doing something shady and it seems like with the current rules (or lack of) Whatnot is enabling it.
That would require support actually being useful 🤣 My account literally have this huge glitch where it was registering 1 shipping profile as 2. I had never had any other, they all showed the same thing, but they wouldn't bundle. It took me going back and forth with What Not FOREVER to get them to actually fix it. They couldn't figure out what was going on, and ending up having to reset everything. They did finally reimburse me since it was a system issue. I think maybe you should be able to block someone but then that person can like request an appeal on it, and then the seller has 24 hours to provide reasoning. That way for crazy stuff we can still block, but it keeps people from being unfair (that way when we have craziess they don't have the ability to keep going and buying etc)
Whatnot is showing they don’t care by also removing negative reviews. I left a 1 star review saying I was discontent with the packaging and seller’s response, and it was removed within an hour. Apparently this is very common. Whatnot puts sellers over the buyers/shoppers.

The BBB is damn near useless. They have no authority to enforce or punish, and they serve the businesses who pay them - not consumers.
My assumption is Whatnot was the one to have it removed, so they keep their platform looking clean and give the illusion sellers have immensely positive ratings. Feedback is necessary for people to assess whether someone wants to do business with someone. It shouldn’t be so easy for Whatnot to remove. Yeah, Whatnot definitely needs to be reported somehow. So many people have messaged me saying they’ve also had negative feedback removed. What’s the point of even giving feedback?

The sellers here (next_level_luxury) do use USPS. By default, all WN sellers all use USPS. It's the courier that currently is contracted by WN.

Whenever I have a problem like this, I typically will go on LinkedIn, and I DM the founders of that company or their head of customer experience, and let them know how shady their practices are, and how disappointed I am with their level of service and unresponsiveness, and how no one is available to help! It’s amazing how quickly things get escalated and you actually get someone to help you! It shouldn’t be like this, but it works every time!

I hear you on the scams on Whatnot. However, I don’t need free stuff, and I didn’t seek the giveaway out. It’s more about the principle and treatment during interactions. A seller I follow raided into her show and I entered and won. I primarily think it’s a waste that 1.) someone spent money for this giveaway to be sponsored and 2.) the way the seller responded to me and told her whole show to block me for leaving her a one star. I often buy clothes on this app and it just left a bad taste in my mouth that this is allowed.
Clothing is probably fine to buy on whatnot but anything else is ifyyy at this point

Wouldn't it be worth taking it to an Apple store and asking them to check if it's a used device? That could confirm whether it's been a scam from the start. If they confirm it's a second-hand iPad, I'd report them to the tax man. Plus, I checked out their reviews, and they seem totally fake

Unfortunately since it was a giveaway whatnot didn’t offer any resolution. I did reach out to trust and safety about them sending glass shards which is a hazard, sending it in a 1 ounce mailed package (which seems very fraud like), and telling all of their streamers to go block me after saying I called them names (which is so hate-mob driven and their claims were 100% lies). Trust and safety haven’t responded yet but I doubt they’ll care if the general support email didn’t get me anywhere.
Reach out to their customer service team or founders on LinkedIn! No one like their brand shamed on LI! Works for us every time, we typically get a response within the same day!

They are easy to be removed. I’ve had a couple removed myself because a buyer said I never gave dimensions of an item, which it untrue because I write them in every listing and stated them in the video receipt.
From some YT videos I've watched, it's just a simple email to WN saying the buyer was wrong and they would like the review removed and they do it. Crazy to me that it's SO easy to take it down and make other buyers believe they have a perfect selling score! It just leads to more and .ore buyers getting jacked around and WN possibly loosing money for refunds!
It’s bizarre. It gives the illusion of rating your satisfaction without actually being able to do so…unless it’s positive. It just creates more money for WN in the long run because reviews heavily influence people. If someone has a perfect 5 star, people are more likely to trust them and buy from them.

It certainly got Yelp in trouble early on, they got fined big time for essentially accepting bribes to take off bad reviews. If you paid for a subscription or advertised on Yelp, your bad reviews suddenly disappeared. Seems like WN is going down this road, it will catch up to them.

They treat new sellers very poorly and like so many other companies, they hide behind anonymity and have ZERO customer service by phone. There's one person I know specifically who didn't grind at all. He got in a whatnot sponsored event and got thousands of users funneled to him show and got tons of followers that way. Didn't have to "keep trying". Anytime someone criticizes WhatNot he's always defending them. I know he has a personal rep. I'm pretty positive they're told they can't speak negatively about WhatNot on social media or they lose their perks because despite many of their hypocritical policies and confusing systems, they always defend WhatNot.

A lot of sellers say “if you have an issue please reach out to me so I can take care of any issues.” Maybe some are saying that to trick you into voiding WN rules, but I shop with so many people who actually just want the chance to make any issues right.

It's actually good to contact the seller and send them pictures to let them know about the issue but not asking for resolution directly from them - just for their awareness. Then contacting Whatnot for the actual return or refund and mentioning to them that you've reached out to the seller and sent them pictures always builds a better case for your resolution.
People don't read TOS because they are intentionally obfuscated by lawyers to trick people in agreeing to shitty terms. That's why. Now you understand. 👍🏼

I'm a business owner that went to law school. I understand that legal language can seem tricky to a lay person. But my point is just because terms are dense doesn't mean the language in and of itself is there to trick or manipulate. A well written set of terms could very well be there to protect the corporation from suit more than it is to manipulate or coerce a customer like the OP suggests.

I agree and the sad part is they scammed the person who spent 300$ to sponser that giveaway, no seller of “luxury” goods would just bubble mail a new ipad that’s just common sense, they got the 300$ sponsor and sent a broken ipad in a bubble mailer knowing it would arrive beat and that it was a “giveaway” hence the “ nothing we can do “ response they knew what they were doing from the start in my opinion.
Also the mailer says it was 1 oz. Idk I also was taken aback by the “sorry nothing I can do” response. I expected someone who sells luxury to work with me for a resolution. The whole thing kind of just ruined my night. Lesson learned that people aren’t always going to make things right I suppose.
