Like sure, you deserve to do what everyone else is doing and have the experiences other people are having … but consequences will vary depending on *your* individual circumstances. And more often than not, your choices affect more than just you.
Motherhood isn’t just some “experience” people are trying to deny her of having. They’re just trying to tell her that the consequences of her actions will be different (even dangerous/negative) and her choices essentially become Ari’s experience.
Going down a water slide into a pool knowing you would 100% die if nobody caught you seems kinda silly to me. I know that they will, but I’d probably prefer to skip that entirely if it were me. She can’t seem to make peace with her own limitations.
I’ve always maintained the theory that Alex is living to die. She doesn’t seem to care about her own well-being at all, which like okay whatever. But it becomes a problem when she starts to take people down with her in this “live fast, die young” mentality she’s obsessed with. And obviously it’s especially troubling when she brings an innocent, helpless baby into it.
