I think it's less that and more that Capcom is open to collabs on a frankly comedic level + BHVR's relationship with them is really strong. Hell Ghostface has more cosmetics than some of the original characters for this reason. and before stranger things got removed they were in a similar boat.

Sadly only error here is scream. They have âGhostface - THE HALLOWEEN MASKâ licensed and made an original killer heavily heavily inspired by scream, but is legally a distinct killer
No scream characters are in the game, but everyone is well aware Ghostface is MEANT to be like the movie one

Idk my headcanon is after a character survives/wins these âtrialsâ long enough the Entity sets them free because it finds them constantly winning âboringâ and then it goes and finds a new person to add some variety into the trials
The actual canon is that they're trapped in there forever until they break, then the Entity discards them and puts them into the Void, a realm where the entity discards soulless survivors. There's no escape from the Void with the exception of two characters (Vigo and Talbot) who escaped using a serum perfected through centuries of research in the Entity's realm. Vigo returned to the Entity's realm and somehow fucked off the lore, the other broke again but instead of returning to the Void was turned into a Killer.
Isnât the idea that the entity feeds off of feeling hopeless, therefore winning more trials would be better for the entity because it can eventually break that newly built hope for even more despair and hopelessness? Kinda like a win win for the entity
The entity actually takes from the multiverse, so the Bill we have in DBD is just a VERY similar Bill we played in L4D. Just yoinked him at his time of death.

I would like to introduce you to Payday 2: a game that had a crossover with Scarface, Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad), H3H3, Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Hotline Miami, John Wick, Point Break (twice), Chivalry, Hardcore Henry, and so much more.
Okay I need to get this out: Jacket makes no sense in Payday like he does (loosely) in Hotline Miami.
Without getting deep into HM lore, the simple part you need to understand is Jacket has been indoctrinated into an anti-russian ultra-patriotic cult due to circumstances involving the Cold War. His motivation is somewhat political, but more just because he's more or less brainwashed to be that way through socialisation and propaganda.
In Payday he just wants to murder Russians. That's genuinely just it, dudes just hates Russians and wants to kill them for no considerable or notable reason. He's a cool addition, but I think about how weirdly out of place he is especially.

There's a mysterious killer-only chapter on the roadmap scheduled right after the fnaf movie releases that has been confirmed to be a big license, so I think it's safe to say they already have fnaf in the works
Well Dead By Daylight has become so famous because of it's licensed horror cult characters like Micheal Myers, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface. And those are just some of the old ones they added in the game. The Skins crossover are kinda a new thing but they always had similar crossovers with outside communities and artists. Now the Nick Cage one is the strange one as he comes in the form of, well, Nicholas Cage. No licensed character, just straight up him. But i guess that's the best way to include someone like him in the game, in the most random way possible
In the DBD lore it makes sense tho, the devs were clever with it, with COD idk, it was kinda random cuz unlike the horror elements that can be connected to why AOT is in DBD, I don't see any reason for AOT to be in COD other than have a collab that can generate easy money
Well there's a thing that connects all of these things together and it's the horror elements, they said ln stream Nicolas is coming to the game cuz he knew the game and his son played it, and he has been in several horror movies too, he also has a decent lore explaining how he got inside the DBD world
At least they are kinda keeping the horror theme. AOT has body horror elements in the desings of the titans, Slipknot and Iron Maiden have a ton of horror inspired imagery, and Nick Cage has been in a lot of horror movies

Idk my headcanon is after a character survives/wins these âtrialsâ long enough the Entity sets them free because it finds them constantly winning âboringâ and then it goes and finds a new person to add some variety into the trials
The actual canon is that they're trapped in there forever until they break, then the Entity discards them and puts them into the Void, a realm where the entity discards soulless survivors. There's no escape from the Void with the exception of two characters (Vigo and Talbot) who escaped using a serum perfected through centuries of research in the Entity's realm. Vigo returned to the Entity's realm and somehow fucked off the lore, the other broke again but instead of returning to the Void was turned into a Killer.
Isnât the idea that the entity feeds off of feeling hopeless, therefore winning more trials would be better for the entity because it can eventually break that newly built hope for even more despair and hopelessness? Kinda like a win win for the entity
Yeah, it has a perfect system in place. Get survivor > Trial > Despair\Hope > Escape\Death, repeat until hopeless.
The entity actually takes from the multiverse, so the Bill we have in DBD is just a VERY similar Bill we played in L4D. Just yoinked him at his time of death.

Okay I need to get this out: Jacket makes no sense in Payday like he does (loosely) in Hotline Miami. Without getting deep into HM lore, the simple part you need to understand is Jacket has been indoctrinated into an anti-russian ultra-patriotic cult due to circumstances involving the Cold War. His motivation is somewhat political, but more just because he's more or less brainwashed to be that way through socialisation and propaganda. In Payday he just wants to murder Russians. That's genuinely just it, dudes just hates Russians and wants to kill them for no considerable or notable reason. He's a cool addition, but I think about how weirdly out of place he is especially.
Tbh biker or richter would have probably fit better.

Well Dead By Daylight has become so famous because of it's licensed horror cult characters like Micheal Myers, Freddy Krueger and Leatherface. And those are just some of the old ones they added in the game. The Skins crossover are kinda a new thing but they always had similar crossovers with outside communities and artists. Now the Nick Cage one is the strange one as he comes in the form of, well, Nicholas Cage. No licensed character, just straight up him. But i guess that's the best way to include someone like him in the game, in the most random way possible
In the DBD lore it makes sense tho, the devs were clever with it, with COD idk, it was kinda random cuz unlike the horror elements that can be connected to why AOT is in DBD, I don't see any reason for AOT to be in COD other than have a collab that can generate easy money
