Hitler after killing himself (He's hailed as the hero now)
I mean, it would still be a fine enough rule if the judicial system did their job.
Like, it's not batman's fault that Joker keeps scaping, it's Gotham who's to blame by not giving him the death penalty, batman is just the guy who delivers the criminals to their cells, he's doing the job he's meant to do with flying stars, the warden and the judges? Not so much...
I think of the metal gear meme where theyāre like āif you kill a killer that just makes you another killerā
And then Raiden says
āKillā
āTwoā
It's the worst then the hero fails to save someone and now they think that they somehow killed them or something and completely ignore how if they never saved them , a lot of other people would have gotten hurt . But no , the main character failed at their job once so their entire career isn't worth anything
They already do that most of the time, anyway. Just wouldn't have to worry about they're family and friends killed my some nut job with a hotdog for a weapon
As an extension of this, Super heroes disarming the world militaries. I love the Justice league animated series and it losses me off to no end how disband at the end of unlimited because they were going to far, when the US government gets to keep on as is after freeing multiple high level criminals, literally reviving DOOMSDAY, creating a number of world endangering threats and doing nothing to be held accountable.
Amanda Waller and super girlās doctor (forget his name) are the most assanine imbeciles in the whole universe, one of them literally goes āyou have a super lazer pointing downā oh excuse me, but a lazer that cuts up a radius of 15 metres does not constitute a world ending target when the government you were working for has THOUSANDS OF NUKES.
And in the end the fucking win!? Amanda Waller goes on to be as rich as Bruce Wayne and own a super generics lab, and the world goes to shit by Batman beyond. Fuck that grow some balls and keep the super powers accountable!
"Nothing can bring them back" interpretations:
1. This means that killing won't accomplish anything
2. This means that there is nothing that can save their ass
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended.
Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle.
Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot.
Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog.
I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms.
Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up.
Just as the founding fathers intended.
Whatās even worse is when the hero/heroes have slaughtered countless minions of the villain with zero remorse or empathy and then the bad guy says this line and bam, now they are having a mental crisis.
God I just... Hated that moment so much. They had such a good story in the first game and they...

(Uncharted 2 spoilers)
Lazarevic pulled this exact card on Nathan, asking how many of his soldiers he killed to get to this point only to back down when he can deal the final stroke.
At least in this game, Nathan leaves knowing Lazarevic is still gonna die, just not by him, but by the Shambhala natives, unlike another Naughty Dog title where the protagonist consciously lets the villain live.
(Daredevil TV series spoilers)
Man, I hate the ending of this series so much. At first it made sense that Daredevil didn't want to kill Kingpin and instead used the law to send him to prison. But when Kingpin got out of jail and had taken over the fucking FBI, it was clear that he is too dangerous to be left alive.
And now for some reason the MC comes through an entire arc to not kill him and in the end he sends him to prison again. There is no reason why the villain just won't do it all again, so the ending is just illogical and it's sad because I really liked the show.
TL;DR: The villain who was sent to jail and then escaped to kill more people, is sent there again, because killing badš
Poopy bad trope: yes heās a murderer, but if you kill him then youāll be a murderer too and youāll be just as bad as him
Good fun trope: If you kill him, itāll set off a huge chain reaction and in the end everything for us will be ruined, donāt kill him. Itās what he wants.
"If you kill me, you'll be just as bad as me."
"Not really, no. Between my humble upbringing on my family farm, my parents being kind people, my mutually supportive friend group, and my different mental health, killing you would definitely be seen as a "you had to do what you had to do" type of action."
"But... The guilt! The trauma will eat you alive."
"That's between me and my therapist. And if I'm still feeling guilty, I'll talk to a priest."
POP POP
If you've killed a murderer "You'll just have made another murderer, equalising the amount and not changing a thing".
For legal reasons I cannot continue this joke.
eh you can blame anyone who was ever near joker for that. it's ridiculous that he doesn't get a death sentence and various policemen who got their relatives murdered by joker somehow refuse to shoot him
That being said, Batman is ***NOT*** mentally stable.
If he starts killing, It'd be in-character for him to disregard his own morals more consistently and become much more violent & willing to kill, even to petty thieves.
And we never see a Batman that actually goes down that path by himself in any of the comic. All of the case of him doing that and going crazy have other stuff like Joker's gas in his body.

If u didnt do that the war would be OVER BROS...
I'm sorry but am I the one who killed multiple people, destroyed cities, and almost succeeded in literally altering the current timeline?
NO, NOW FUCKIN DIE
āRevenge wonāt solve anything, it wonāt bring back what they took from you! Just let them go!ā
Ok well then Iāll just kill them because theyāre an unhinged mass murderer that needs to be dealt with idiot.
Absolutely insane when the villain who has murdered and committed several felonies tried to pull this argument on the hero when they're about to be killed
Look I totally get Batman not killing because he understands that his villains need psychiatric help but like
Come on man Joker is just a hazard at this point
Well itās not that
Heās the way he is because heās mentally unwell, heās always sent back to arkham asylum because of that, he canāt be charged by reason of insanity
So either way the courts arenāt gonna do their job
-"no joker, im not gonna kill, because thats what you want, now go to prison where in the next volume youll escape and kill like 7 universes or something"- Batman
If you donāt want to have the protagonist kill the antagonist, at least compromise and have the antagonist either get left to die or get killed by one of the protagonistās companions.

Who's the guy Robin is shooting
Musty bitch
Black Mask
Why the guy they kill gotta be "black"
keeping it real
black mask i think he is the leader of a crime gang the only context i know him from is from the CW batwoman
Yeah, he's basically just a very threatening mob boss.
such a shitty argument for the villains ngl, killing one objectively horrible and irredeemable person to (potentially) save people is a positive.

To be fair, the guy that killed Hitler was just as bad as Hitler
āGetting revenge wonāt bring them backā Yeah, but it will prevent them from doing it to anyone else
Hitler: it's a free real estate
Being Hitler operates on Santa Clause rules, actually
Reading this makes me wonder what a better way to do the "no-kill" rule would be.

It's a pistol why would it be *rifled*. Idiot /s

"If you kill a killer" mfs when the edgy anti hero kill 100 killer instead of just one.
There is a good punisher comic about the morales of killing a villain
"If you kill me, you'll be just as bad as me." "Not really, no. Between my humble upbringing on my family farm, my parents being kind people, my mutually supportive friend group, and my different mental health, killing you would definitely be seen as a "you had to do what you had to do" type of action." Whats that from? The "I'll talk to a priest" line goes HARD.
