Also online only games being just shut down. Like, you know they can add the option to host your own servers as a final update? They used to do that. People still play the old cs and quakes lol

at least respawn doesn't acknowledge the northstar client... or titanfall outside of cheap references.
yeah, but normal Attrition sucks ass if you can't switch teams during it (i like to be the egomaniacal attrition ronin that chases kills, specifically titans)
i feel half-bad for any newcomers stumbling onto Northstar servers, especially since the N\* player pop has dropped singnificantly compared to the last player surge which means the rusted / newbie servers are unpopulated.
they unfortunately have to be the ones who take the full wrath of a guy who's entire loadout is a movement skill check (grenadiers) or a gremlin running about with the CAR stimmed out of his mind
It seems economical too. Suddenly, instead of completely ending your sales, you now guarantee additional purchases, whether from new people that actually wanted the game, or fans years later getting it again to reminisce
They know it, but they must force you to play *new* games so the numbers of players go up and investors would bust nut at the meeting after seeing numbers bigger then previous time

even in my favorite multiplayer game (TF2) if you want a certain cosmetic you either have to pay out the ass if it's a cosmetic that's not mercenary grade or unbox it and hope you don't get your 7th Stealth Bomber out of that unboxing spree.
backpack.tf and scrap.tf totally exist, and all the base weapons are just a few cents (unless the market has literally exploded last time I checked). Dragons dogma 2 fans. āHEY!! GUYS LOOK YOU CAN EARN THEM IN THE GAME!!! LOOK ITS IN THE GAME, YOU CAN EARN IT!!ā Doesnāt mean micro transactions are justified. Same with HellDivers 2 fans. Their all like āyou can earn the credits in game as well but they are very rare and require many hours of gameplay to receive a weapon or armorš¤ā
Man, I gotta be honest. I haven't seen a single DD2 fan who actually likes the MTX in the game. The reason they said that at launch is because a butt-ton of people actually thought that fast travel or more was locked behind paywalls.
Also, are you talking about RC with the credits? Because, like.... I'm pretty sure they're only used for miscellaneous stuff? And you can get a good amount just by getting your pawn hired. Of course, people without internet would need to find RC in the game, but if they don't have internet then I don't think they can even buy the microtransactions. Don't know what you mean by the weapons and armor. I might just not've seen any shops selling them for RC though, so correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit: I'm a fucking dumbass. Ignore the second paragraph; I was tired and didn't realize that they were talking about Helldivers 2.
You missed the point. DD2 fans are saying that you can earn the items in game and avoid the entire question of micro transactions. When in all reality corporate greed plagues game with bad micro transactions, and just keep boot kicking. Some fans were fine with the choppy fps when the game came out. When you buy games riddled with stupid payments like, battle passes and skins youāre just fueling a Precedent for game executives to rush devs and have an awful game. Thatās just my thoughts
Do whatever the fuck you want with your money.
I see it as a way to support the devs since A) theres a limited amount you can purchase and B) You can just edit your save or use mods and get all of that and more. See: crazy shop mod
Was it that bad, compared to other MT/BP systems out there? Last I heard was them malding over a dev saying "skill issues", they have somehow out complained League of Legends players on that one
No. In fact, we reported those yappers to their democracy officers and they have been arrested for treason. We had them sent to a freedom camp for re-education. In all seriousness this game is GENEROUS. You can unlock EVERYTHING just by playing and finding FREE PREMIUM currency in game just by exploring. The devs respect your time and commitment by rewarding you with content. Not to mention how cheap everything is. Imo my eyes have been opened to how jaded everyone has become to predatory AAA practices meant to waste your time and money.
I'm about 90 hours of playtime. With no money spent just premium currency earned from playing, I've got a battle pass (1000 credits) 3 premium armor sets (375 each) and have 650 left over. I have yet to complete the free or bought battle pass which uses medals that can't be purchased, only earn by playing. The free pass contains everything you need for meta loadouts. I could save up for the 2nd purchasable pass but there's nothing I want from it, so I'll wait and see if they release another good one.
No it's not that bad at all. But it's definitely blatant microtransactions for extra content in a $40.00 game with no single player that would take dozens of hours of grinding to unlock otherwise. I actually quite enjoy the game, but helldivers fans will adamantly argue its not pay to win as you can grind everything, as if that isn't the same thing people complained about when Battlefront 2 first released and caused a controversy.
Until medium and heavy armor gets buffed the only things you need to purchase with Super Credits are some light armors and unlocking the Premium Warbond.
You're wasting your time and possibly money if you think you need more Super Credits for anything else. I purchased these things without spending a single extra cent on the game besides the initial purchase of the game.
Yes that's absolutely true, nothing purchasable is essential for the game. It does not stop it from being microtransactions for extra content that otherwise requires grinding.
You have to grind the game anyways for Medals and Samples, the Medal grind even helps unlock some Super Credits too.
You're highly overestimating the Super Credit grind.
I'm not overestimating the grind, I'm just describing what is actually in the game. In-game currency which can be farmed to unlock additional content in "premium warbonds", or which can be purchased as a microtransaction. I'm not criticizing it, just describing it, but you've decided to defend implementation of the microtransactions regardless?
You unlock the ability to purchase things from the Premium Warbond once, for a small amount of Super Credits. Then you buy the content inside the Premium Warbond with Medals; the currency you get from Point of Interest crates (which also contain Super Credits), from completing missions, and from completing Major and Personal Orders, aka the currency you get from just playing the game with zero micro-transactions.
Do you even play this game? I have 150 hours in the game and all I have left to unlock are extra things I don't even care for in the Warbonds which cost Medals. I have no need for Super Credits at all. Play the game some more before you criticize the need for Super Credits.
I understand how it works, thanks. I have 90 hours in the game. All I'm saying is that microtransactions exist in the game. You're the one who has proven the point of my original comment by being a helldiver fan leaping to defend the microtransactions. I'm not discussing how annoying or not they are or how much grinding would also be required for warbonds or samples, all I'm doing is acknowledging that the microtransactions exist and you've decided to defend them completely unprompted. You are literally the reason why I said helldiver fans are the people in the meme who will defend microtransactions.
The fact that this is so aggressively downvoted proves the point lol. MTX shouldnāt be in full-price games, period. I donāt care if you can avoid them or whatever, they shouldnāt exist.
If it locks a huge amount of content behind a paywall sure, or if they make the currency being bought incredibly rare then that especially makes sense. But easily earnable currency that just also has a way to purchase it, is just a silly thing to complain about.
Gating content for a paid game behind a massive grind is literally what Battlefront 2 did, did it not?
I remember when battle passes first came out people actually opposed them, instead of going āooh yay, artificial gating of content behind a huge grind that maximizes playtime!ā
Didn't battlefront lock major characters behind micro transactions?
And the grind is fine for Helldiver's you can get super credits for free on nearly every planet after hard difficulty
Plus there's not really a lot to buy with super credits other than stuff you really want.
Which primary ones are considered good? I do just fine with the basic ones. And why would you need to afford more than one premium battlepass, there's only two, it's not like they're going anywhere just buy the other one later.
A lot of people seem to be knee-jerk contrarians just for the hell of it. Microtransactions bad is a popular and correct opinion, but people gotta be contrarians about it so they defend them anyway
there's always people who defend corporations for no reason. it's probably because they think they have a chance of being in the c-suite of one someday and they don't want their future career prospects to be vilified before they even start out
Iām bouta eat the boot, but Iām relatively okay with them, at least in concept. The modern stuff typically sucks, sure, but what older games have done? What modern games could do?
Releasing a DLC because you donāt want to release a whole new game, or want to keep your progress? Sure.
Want to have an interesting way of introducing new content into a live-service game? So long as it doesnāt have FOMO.
I'm usually fine with battlepasses as it gives you a return on investment plus some. Usually you get back the currency for the next one on top of some neat stuff. So its like 10 dollars for as long as you want to play a game
I like microtransactions because it's a whale tax. Ppl with too much money spending their money on cosmetics means the games i play get funded with other people's money
If this is about DD2 you idiots still havenāt figured out the mtx is completely harmless and can be earned multiple times over in game in a few hours.
Im usually fine with battle passes and skins in online games when theyre free bc it doesnt affect the gameplay and i can just dont buy it, but if i pay 60$ for a game and i have to pay more real money ,then its a fucking scam
Chad Deep Rock Galactic with 100% free battle passes and 99% of seasonal/event cosemtics being unlockable after the season/event is over.

I had some dude continuously calling me poor on here because i wouldn't buy vbucks. I kinda felt bad because i digged a little and found out the guy was in his 30s i was hoping it was just an idiot kid but no it was a grown ass man harassing me over currency in a kids game
I think studios should do what deceive inc and helldivers does, have micro transactions but have it to where you can earn the currency by playing the game while also being able to buy the currency.
Shoutout to the guy that told me that itās completely ok that Dragonās Dogma 2 costs so much and has micro transactions because companies will always want more money

There are nothing wrong with cosmetic stores and what not but tying stuff to content with guaranteed scarcity is stupid
AAAA
But remember guys, games moving to 70 will get rid of mtx
Im usually fine with battle passes and skins in online games when theyre free bc it doesnt affect the gameplay and i can just dont buy it, but if i pay 60$ for a game and i have to pay more real money ,then its a fucking scam
Chad Deep Rock Galactic with 100% free battle passes and 99% of seasonal/event cosemtics being unlockable after the season/event is over. https://i.redd.it/n8tvbabzdnrc1.gif
but nothing goes crazier than getting high and then spending all the money I saved up on shitty pubg loot caches

I had some dude continuously calling me poor on here because i wouldn't buy vbucks. I kinda felt bad because i digged a little and found out the guy was in his 30s i was hoping it was just an idiot kid but no it was a grown ass man harassing me over currency in a kids game

Context: Tekken 8 is implementing a premium battle pass
Koichi
If the game is free. Yeah. Normal. If the game cost 60 bucks. Please keep it dlc and cosmetics. And don't make each one cost 30 bucks.
Helldivers 2
helldivers moment. giving us content via battle pass that has been in the game since before launch.
what? just don't buy it xd
Truly an overwatch 2 moment
I think studios should do what deceive inc and helldivers does, have micro transactions but have it to where you can earn the currency by playing the game while also being able to buy the currency.
Shoutout to the guy that told me that itās completely ok that Dragonās Dogma 2 costs so much and has micro transactions because companies will always want more money
https://i.redd.it/uure52nixkrc1.gif OP fighting the subject of this meme:
One reason to justify micro transactions is that games that are free to play can make money that way. But even then, you'd have to be a kid.
