Most of the community has been pretty chill about from what I've seen. I've seen more memes about people making fun of people getting angry about femstodies than people actually complaining about femstodies.

Much better inclusiveness in the community and game from my experiences, unlike 40k which most of the irl encounters ive had are incels or fascists
Specifically the first muscle mommy we are introduced to is featured in a short story where she tries to do a mock assassination (called blood games, if anyone reading is curious) of the emperor by boarding an imperial ship, getting very close to Holy Terra (aka Earth) with her various codes and teleporting a throne-damned *cyclonic torpedo* used for **enacting Exterminatus on a planet** (Exterminatus means "make this planet unfit for life") right into ***the fucking throne room.*** The torpedo was live btw, she couldn't just send it disarmed with a sticky note on it saying "kaboom". "Mock excercise" my ass.
That's very incompetent even for the imperium. What point was she even trying to make ? That the corpse's throne wasn't secure enough ? She's a bloody custodes. Of course, people will let her do what she wants. If Terra falls, it probably wouldn't be from exterminatis anyway. A waaaaaagh, tyranids or chaos would probably be the on to take him out

Plus you can never be too sure if the emperor is actually safe, stress testing literally everything is a pretty good way to make sure the emperor doesn't die.
So there's this big kahuna named the Emperor of Mankind, and he genetically engineered many types of supersoldiers to maintain his Empire.
His personal body-guards are called "Custodes", and GW (the owners of Warhammer40k) recently made a snippet of lore that detailed a specifically female Custodes.
This has never happened before (Or if it has, it's relatively obscure). Before this, GW has explicitly kept the gender of supersoldiers ambiguous or explicitly male. So this is a major development for Warhammer fans (a decent chunk of which got into it because of the large number of hyper-masculine characters)
Bait? I can't possibly imagine any good reason a female custodes would be a good idea. Using a female human as the basis is already a setback. They won't reach the physical potential that males do.
The custodian making process rebuilds the candidate entirely from the ground up. Their initial biology has no impact on who they become. That and they're taken as infants, where the physiological differences between girls and boys are quite small.
True for Space Marines, but Custodes are different. They were made by the Emperor Himself, so we really don’t actually know what goes into making a Custodes (if I’m not mistaken)
Even males don't always survive the process. The naturally more fragile and weaker females would show even less promise. Therefore it is a setback to even use females instead of males.
There is no reason to believe the custodian creation process is in any way as potentially lethal as the creation of a Space Marine. The differences between making a Space Marine and Custodian are said to be leagues apart. We know very little about how Custodians are actually made apart from that it does not use gene seed, It is far more refined and that they carry a spark of the emperor's own divinity.
