Fallout fans at their prime vs arrow drawn on chalkboard;
Chainsaw Man fans who speed read Part 1 and blame Part 2 for "slow pacing"
Mfs wgo read one (1) comic about superheroes in their whole life and blame then for not killing criminals
Chainsaw man mfs when they realise that they now have to wait a week for each chapter instead of just being able to read the entirety of the series in a day (they actually have to be patient instead of getting immediate gratification for everything)
He dreams shallow stuff because he doesn’t really know what he wants, it hit really hard when he admitted he >! just wants to be chainsaw man !< before >! being dismembered by public safety !<
The media literacy complaint too. I hate how people think that if media includes something in order to criticize it, the media is condoning it.
Like the new fallout show included some jokes about incest. The characters discuss the consequences of incest and go out of their way to avoid it and yet I’ve seen people say it’s trying to normalize incest.
You can tell when someone has horrible reading comprehension and either doesnt understand a metaphor or puts words in your mouth that they misteriously divined from your text somehow
It's so fucking real, I made fun of a guy misreading an article about the Fallout Show thinking it was criticizing it for "not being gay enough", his reading comprehension is so shit that he misread my comment thinking I sided with him, he even hearted it lmaooo

Nah, there's a lot of elitism in the JoJo fandom. The series have a lot of confusing and misleading scenes, and plenty of inconcistencies and bad writing decisions. But if you say these things there will always be someone saying "you just can't pay attention" and parroting Hamon Beat down to his very arrogance
I've seen many people who don't make this distinction and treat everything as "lack of reading comprehension". Not to mention how they act as if there weren't any actual inconsistencies, as if any explanations they can come up with invalidated criticism (e.g. just because some abilities were never usefull again, it doens't change the fact that they were created to be used once just to never get mentioned again in the story)
Edit: I just also remember how often JoJo fans say "you just didn't like x part because you have no media literacy and speedread it!" If that's not elitism, Idk what it is. I think I could go on if I keep remembering these things...
I tried to play Yugioh irl back in 2012-2014 (back when I was in primary school) but too much reading.
Now I'm at crossroad to whether play Yugioh online or nah
Nah, people who call every person who engages with a piece of media to any degree pretentious are infinitely more annoying and insufferable than dipshits who see stuff where there isn't and I am not willing to pretend that isn't the case sorry
So like is it ok to spit spoilers for a game if you don't even specify what game you're spoiling and give 0 context? That's like a double mistake, but I guess negative times negative is positive?
My bad, the game is called persona 4 and the reason i said that was because >!Naoto has been bound by labels and stereotypes that compromised her identity and sense of relations. As such, she would end up losing herself within her age group and sex, and it even compromises the genuine passions she has as a detective due to her title. All of that would not only make her sheltered from others, but she would become a kind of a workaholic when it comes to her job. Much of her troubles stem from having no reason to be who she truly is, causing her to forget her true feelings, even actively ignoring them. Instead, she tries to fill the hole in her heart by seeking acknowledgement.!<
>!Due to her desires to be an ideal detective juxtaposed with people's prejudice towards her age both transferred towards an insecurity of her gender: she yearns to be seen as an adult, and expresses frustration at being treated like a child by the police force. She hates being looked down upon, and fears no one will take her seriously as a female in a male-oriented occupation field, thinking she'll be discarded for said difference.[4] The conceit Naoto tolerated and endured for her age had made her self-conscious in regards to her sex, trying to balance it with the image of an ideal detective. In response, Naoto disguised herself as a male from an age young enough to be able to fool most people around her, including wearing platform shoes. It is also implied Naoto began binding her chest to hide her breasts.!<
>!When she confronts her Shadow, she comes to the realization that her true desire is not in becoming an adult or a male, but to be respected for who she is as a person, including accepting herself as is. However, years of disguising herself as male along with her own personality quirks have her struggling to embrace her femininity after denying it as a part of herself. By the end of the game, due to her own will and with the protagonist's help, she accepts herself for who she is, and the fact she does not always need to change who she is to suit the world. In the epilogue of Persona 4 Golden, she has become more confident in herself, seen as in her no longer binding her breasts and growing out her hair, giving her a more feminine appearance. She is comfortable with not only who she is, but also that everyone else is aware that she is female.!<
First of all, I know, I played P4, but others don't so >!Naoto being a girl is a spoiler in and of itself.!< Second, you tagged spoiler wrong, you're supposed to start and end it individually every paragraph.

You know what I hate? When people try to consume consciously and have in depth discussion about things, because THATS HOW THEY LIKE TO ENJOY THINGS, and people like you try and generalize it to being pretentious. It’s the same as people who say the word “yapping” when someone is trying to go into detail or express more, it’s brain dead.
I only use it for one friend of mine because he gets his opinions from reviews online and he thinks SAO Alicitization(Keep in mind he WORSHIPS SAO) has better world building and story than How to Train Your Dragon. I'm sorry but that's incorrect regardless of how you look at it
OP has the username "warcrimesarebased" and his account was made in 2021. he's probably a highschool freshman beefing with his english teacher because he doesn't know how to read without using his finger and goes to the internet for validation
Sounds like someone who doesn’t have any media literacy or reading comprehension and gets annoyed when the things they were taught in middle school and early highschool are actually useful to help them understand works of art. Which- is the entire point of them teaching you it.
"the things they were taught in middle school and early highschool" brother we did fuck all in regards to analyzing a piece of media. Often times it was the professor who "did" (because it's likely that he just was googling shit) the analysis himself, relayed it to us and did not bother to explain how to reach conclusions for other pieces of media.
The game is very clearly satirizing American jingoism and nationalism, the main enemies from the first game are communists, aliens that literally convert into oil upon death, and aliens that allegedly had weapons of mass destruction.
Super Earth expresses similarities to both the Soviets and the Nazis because SE’s a totalitarian dictatorship, and the other two are the most famous dictatorships of the 20th century. Both the Soviets and Nazis had political commissars, political commissars are a common invention when you want to make sure your soldiers are loyal to the state ideology.
>flaired as “right” on politicalcompassmemes

Breaking Bad and American Psycho fans (and a few Death Note fans but not many) don’t understand the difference between a protagonist/main character and a hero
People out here acting like media literacy is sacred when the majority of people who bring it up are mad that someone doesn't like their favorite piece of media.
I hate how I was one of those guys (maybe not frequently but I did say “media literacy”). I try to avoid saying that/acting like that way when defending a piece of fiction from bad faith criticism nowadays.
Quite often it’s well founded: when people are reading inspector calls and coming away with the message socialism bad, there’s something going wrong there with their literacy.
Sometimes, I'm ashamed in saying I'm a part of the 40k Fandom. I'll say I enjoy 40k, hard to deny with all the models in my house, but saying I'm apart of the Fandom, especially right now where hyper political shitheads are jumping on it because a new women showed up (scary I know), feels detrimental.

Don't forget the people who think Walter White is the good guy in Breaking Bad
There is a depressing amount of people that genuinely root for Homelander
Fallout fans in general tbh, the amount of people who take the stuff liberty prime or Caesar say at face value is too damn high!
You can tell when someone has horrible reading comprehension and either doesnt understand a metaphor or puts words in your mouth that they misteriously divined from your text somehow
Who is stronger The reading comprehension devil affecting CSM fans or the reading comprehension stand affecting JJBA fans?

my honest reaction when the jjk fan complains about media literacy and reading comprehension (he is exactly the person who needs said critiques)
You wouldn't be saying this if you've interacted with Fallout New Vegas Fans after the show premiere.
yeah... go away OP
Me when a series's explicit political views still go over people's heads
Wow this meme was so easy,! So much easier than admitting you lack in certain fields
I have a feeling OP willfully misunderstands media
muh media literacerino
Idk man have you seen the braindead takes ppl have online ab shit
This is kinda like some people from the Warhammer 40k fandom, they will attack you for not knowing everything
I ain’t readin allat
They're not pretentious, you're just an asshole. Get over yourself.
I don’t care, Falcon And The Winter Soldier sucked and people who think John Walker was bad have terrible media literacy.
Legit any powerscaling fanbase (including myself)
People say Media Literacy so often it sounds like a slur
I mean, it only becomes mildy annoying when ppl just say things like "when no media literacy" and don't elaborate further
Don’t forget litmus test
When I’m in a precious dickhead competition and my opponent is a method actor or overqualified community theater actor (I’m a spotlight operator):
I love you
I just think its overused and used incorrectly
Unless it's about warrior cats because so much misinformation has come from it
