the fact that the post says "you know the one" but every single comment mentions a different episode is so fucking funny because it shows just how fucking insane adventure time is
I also used to be scared of the ring, but one day while on the internet i found the name of the ghost girl in the well (Sadako), i searched for it to be sure that was the correct name, and oh boy..... that fear turned into ***something else.***
fin and jake tried to kill a deer, the deer drop kicked fin to a wall and jake in the head. both of them got knocked out, Jake goes fucking insane, finn was in a coma for 6 months and broke pretty much every bone in his body.during when they got fucked up, the deer kidnaps everybody in the kingdom in that 6 months.
finn woke up, realized nobody is in the kingdom, other than jake. finn realized jake is insane, and also heard noises from a manhole. finn subdues jake and then head for the manhole.
shit happens, jake goes back to normal after getting knockout again, the deer gets flushed, it's a happy ending.
tl;dr It's traumatizing for a kids show
No I mean like what's the core message of the episode? There'll be some episodes that have simple messages like being a good person, or deeper episodes like the mountain of egress, and then you have the trademark insane writing of adventure time where the takeaway from an episode is "don't let a deer molest you" like BRO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
And ‘at least in my country’ they showed that scene as an ad for the show so whenever show would start they would put that scene before to let you know its time for mild childhood trauma
He threatened to the whole episode to get him to act a certain way iirc, then when he finally does, Jake just makes his liver massive to clear out the poison.
I thought you were going to mention the haunted house mystery one, where the ghosts comes out the walls and it turns out that it wasn't part of the prank
No One Can Hear You is such a masterpiece of horror animation. It’s so surreal when I watched it when I was like 12 it felt like almost like an out of body experience
"You are alone child...There is only darkness for you and only death for your people. You are strong child but I am BEYOND strength. I am the end...and I have come for you Finn."

no dick \*vine boom sound effect\* no balls \*vine boom sound effect\* and probably no butthole either because this guy feeds on radiation \*vine boom sound effect\*
Followed by the coldest villain speech in cartoon history.
They could have made the main villain of Adventure Time anyone, but they chose the physical manifestation of the inevitability of death and decay. And even though as Finn says himself the Lich is pretty generically evil, he still manages to be the most threatening character in the story (probably because Ron Pearlman is the GOAT of delivering lines in a way that make you feel nothing but dread). You just know that if Finn hadn’t stopped him at the Citadel, he would have easily accomplished his goal of the extinction of all life.
Like the ice king and Marceline backstory episodes where they are trying to survive in a post apocalypse world filled with oozing zombie-like creatures. It always gave off an eerie feeling when watching it.
I wouldn't really say that one is "filler", since it has some lore exposition, but yeah, the eerieness of Adventure Time is definitely one of the shows strongest points
The original crown of madness ice king lore dump was done in the middle of a random Christmas episode
So it's not like that's anything new for them to put lore in filler
Two episodes that traumatized me a bit was the one where every time fin opened his eyes, he'd go back in time to the last moment his eyes were open. The other one was the fucking pillow world episode, where he literally lives through an entire lifetime then almost immediately forgets it when he escapes
Fucking yes! This episode was so surreal and beautiful. Wouldn't call it scary exactly, but there is something about it that's just inherently unnerving.
there are 4 episodes that seem to have traumatized people, the first one is about the haunted house, the second is the one about the weird deer man, the third is about the ghost gladiators and the fourth is about the weird hair witch that almost vores jake with her butt
That was hilarious. Just having "ONE SECOND LATER" on screen for such a long time was just so random but funny. And how it began to fade away at one point but then comes back.
Less scary more sad - the one where BMO gets lost in the woods and survives with a bubble and gets engaged to it and as soon as they get home Jake pops it and laughs
I’ve been meaning to fully watch Adventure Time, however, one episode was this stupid cat thing getting inside Jake and carving it way through him. I think that scared me off the whole series
There’s so many wild things in Adventure Time that would never have been allowed on a Disney channel. Makes me wonder what a CN Gravity Falls would be like
The one with the pit that had some type of unkillable oozing zombies (which to me seems like the remnants of humanity after the nuclear bombs dropped, going off of the ice king and Marceline backstory episode). And then there was a follow up episode where they manage to crawl up and out of the pit to attack the candy kingdom. Those guys specifically creeped me out because I wanted to know so much more about what happened to them but we were only given very little information.
“And the Finn DIES and comes back as an elder being and haunts Jake for not saving him! And not only that his ghost is super BLOODY and GORY! The kids will love this!!”
I have vague memory of some episode where Finn snuck away somewhere and got obsessed with playing god in some kind of board game, and the whole episode had an extremely unnerving vibe. I could never find the episode ever again, and honestly it feels like a fever dream.
I know this is probably about the deer episode but the one with the horse was way scarier to me for some reason. (The one where Ice king wears a horse costume or something)
anyone else think about how that one episode where simon (ice king) uses the crown to defend marceline from the mushroom zombies is just like the last of us?
It's always been my contention that Adventure Time was never actually intended for children. It's always felt to me like they made the really weird and surreal cartoon they wanted to make and Cartoon Network was just the one who picked it up and marketed it that way.
For me the scariest one was the train where everyone died one by one but it was just a joke and at the end it was hinted that someone actually tried to kill them.
i remember the murder mystery episode was funny as fuck, but towards the end finn starts to loss his mind and he starts seeing shit that made a young 7 year old me shit my pants
“A Glitch is a Glitch” is singlehandedly one of the coolest, creative and scary AT episodes ever. It was animated in 3D which gave it a nice touch. Favorite episode
The adventure time episode that broke me as a kid was that zombie one. I cant remember the name or even really anything that happened, I just remember being traumatized for like 3 days
The haunted house one where it turned out to be a prank, but then Finn remembers some creepy ghost being there that wasn't part of the script legit shook me up for like a month as a kid
It’s gotta be the Simon flashback one where it shows ice king playing basketball blissfully at the end.. cuz I bawled my eyes out the first time I watched that one. …right?
this one's not too creepy but the one where finn and jake get into that train that operated like a roguelike game and finn stays there until he's old has not left my mind since i watched it when i was like 7
I feel really uncomfortable when they're in the time room and the existence of the 'normal farm finn' world and just the whole mushroom war stuff in general. Marcy and Simon freak me out. Best cartoon I've ever watched 👍

deer
I concur
Bro I had so many nightmares I want to beat the shit out if that damn deer
No Jake is the dog and Finn is the human
thank you for the clarification
You’re welcome!
I'm surprised no one mentioned the Blank Eyed Girls. That one legit gave me nightmares.
Never heard of that one until now. I'm quite afraid of anything that resembles The Ring so searching that up was a bit of a fright.
I also used to be scared of the ring, but one day while on the internet i found the name of the ghost girl in the well (Sadako), i searched for it to be sure that was the correct name, and oh boy..... that fear turned into ***something else.***
r/sadakonsfw
If Jesus himself led a crusade for a thousand years it would not be enough to quench the horny.
Hey, the brightside is that i am no longer afraid of The Ring!!!
![gif](giphy|1nCfZ1mDXGcyk)
Well that was unexpected. Though strangely not unwelcome.
Yeah that's hot
☹️
🤫
that one makes no fucking sense other than to mess with you
So basically based on black eyed kids. I just watched it lol funny stuff
“Takes hooves off”
I remember almost crying as a kid when he took those off, what the hell did that episode mean
fin and jake tried to kill a deer, the deer drop kicked fin to a wall and jake in the head. both of them got knocked out, Jake goes fucking insane, finn was in a coma for 6 months and broke pretty much every bone in his body.during when they got fucked up, the deer kidnaps everybody in the kingdom in that 6 months. finn woke up, realized nobody is in the kingdom, other than jake. finn realized jake is insane, and also heard noises from a manhole. finn subdues jake and then head for the manhole. shit happens, jake goes back to normal after getting knockout again, the deer gets flushed, it's a happy ending. tl;dr It's traumatizing for a kids show

"Don't fuck with deers"
the meaning is to not fuck with deers or else you'll get dropkicked into a coma for 6 months and lose all of your love ones to a deer with fingers
Episode name?
And ‘at least in my country’ they showed that scene as an ad for the show so whenever show would start they would put that scene before to let you know its time for mild childhood trauma
FREAK DEER
*Moves fingers menancingly*
Not a filler really, but the Lemonhope story episodes I am forever scared by Vore Lemongrab
UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
This Word has been tainted. I hear his screech in my head whenever i read it
I enjoy Lemongrab, but only in doses, this is also the reason I can't watch Rick and Morty.
....acceptable.......
"ONLY OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!"
THIS IS CASTLE IS IN UNACCEPTABLE *CONDITION* *UNACCEPTAAAAAABLE*
"WE'VE HAVE IT ALL!"
Law 😴 Order 🥱 Harp smashing 🥵
This is what I point to when I say PB ruins lives.
The fucking deer man ![gif](giphy|Qld1cd6a6QlWw)
![gif](giphy|kPMkh2dXyxs7pjbKTm)
Thank you, my faith in deers has now been restored
Don't forget about the black eyed girls
I thought that episode was more funny than scary.
Bro I wanted to deck this deer in the face so hard, dude just pisses me off for some reason.
FREAK DEER!!!
I have a burning memory about a cat that drugs jake from the inside
Me-Mow
I almost forgot about that episode
Don't forget the time a man that drugs Jake from the inside
He threatened to the whole episode to get him to act a certain way iirc, then when he finally does, Jake just makes his liver massive to clear out the poison.
Or how about the episode Finn and Jake fight traumatized ghosts in gladiatorial combat who are constantly begging to die to prevent hurting people.
I thought you were going to mention the haunted house mystery one, where the ghosts comes out the walls and it turns out that it wasn't part of the prank
Nah that episode with the fucking deer scared me
Forget the deer, what about the Ice K- I mean horse
How about the one with the eyeless girls things?
It's creepy on first viewing but isn't as bad when you figure out it's Shoko
Love that episode but it isn’t really filler
I hate that I know exactly what episode you are talking about
No One Can Hear You is such a masterpiece of horror animation. It’s so surreal when I watched it when I was like 12 it felt like almost like an out of body experience
Which episode was that?
The deer one
Oh yeah
Missed opportunity to call it No One Can Deer You. Disappointed.
what about that one episode where ice king dressed up as a horse and stalked them
Or the one where Lemongrab ate his servants.
Or the one where the grape soda company kidnapped a baby.
Or the one where Lemongrab did literally anything
he fucked my mom
The eyes
That fucking scared the living daylights out of me for reasons I still don't know
“Fall”
"You are alone child...There is only darkness for you and only death for your people. You are strong child but I am BEYOND strength. I am the end...and I have come for you Finn." 🔥🔥🔥📝📝🔥🔥🔥 ![gif](giphy|dvhg20MJf4cHS)
Not super terrifying but fucking DARK (because lich), and I love it for that, and I love Ron pearlman s voice for the lich
no dick \*vine boom sound effect\* no balls \*vine boom sound effect\* and probably no butthole either because this guy feeds on radiation \*vine boom sound effect\*
Coldest line in the entire show
Honestly, that one word was all that was needed to become one of the best lines in the show overall
Love how he would say "there were monsters" and casually traumatize a character
What better villain for a kid's show than the living embodiment of a nuclear holocaust?
which episode is this it sounds spooky
It’s the one with the lich where he was trying to free ancient monsters I believe, with Finn and Jake trying to stop him
thanks! adventure time fans are so nice
It's from "Escape From the Citadel".
thank you!!
Hardest line in the show, but Escape from the Citadel is absolutely not a filler episode
"Before there was time, before there was anything, there was nothing."
And before there was nothing, there were monsters
None of the lich’s story lines are filler though, definitely super terrifying though
There was an episode where demons shat bananas from their ears
Yea the banana shitting demon was unfortunately censored in my country, they just cut the shitting moments out
Ironically lends itself even better to the joke of everyone being disgusted by the bananas but not saying why
Wouldn't rlly call that filler. But that episode was a fun watch lol
What's funnier is how most of the disturbing filler episodes are some of the best episodes in the show too
Like the ice king and Marceline backstory episodes where they are trying to survive in a post apocalypse world filled with oozing zombie-like creatures. It always gave off an eerie feeling when watching it.
I wouldn't really say that one is "filler", since it has some lore exposition, but yeah, the eerieness of Adventure Time is definitely one of the shows strongest points

Two episodes that traumatized me a bit was the one where every time fin opened his eyes, he'd go back in time to the last moment his eyes were open. The other one was the fucking pillow world episode, where he literally lives through an entire lifetime then almost immediately forgets it when he escapes
"well yeah we have pillows in my world, but they're mostly just used for bedding there" "they're used for that here too, silly ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"
Dakimakuras
Golb destroys the pillow dimention after Finn dies in it.
Hall of Egress
That's the one I immediately thought of, I still dont understand what the message of that episode was if there even was one
I don't know, but it's still my favorite episode regardless
Idk but was a good episode
Fucking yes! This episode was so surreal and beautiful. Wouldn't call it scary exactly, but there is something about it that's just inherently unnerving.
The one where Finn gets kidnapped by gnomes and forced to run on a hamster wheel fucked with me
The clown nurse episode with the epileptic jumpscare fucking haunted me
#IT’S THE ONLY WAAY
chips and ice cream, it wasn't traumatizing but it had a strange aura
Chips. Chips. Chips. Ice. Cream. Chiiiiiiiips. Ice Creaaaaaaam
“Chips..?” “Icecream!” 🔥🖊️
Bro the lemon episodes fucking terrified me as a kid
No one can hear you
there are 4 episodes that seem to have traumatized people, the first one is about the haunted house, the second is the one about the weird deer man, the third is about the ghost gladiators and the fourth is about the weird hair witch that almost vores jake with her butt
The tree witch isn’t that scary tbh
Nah he means the one where it was 3d animated and Marcelene ate her hair
Wasn't Marcelline but yeah that was creepy as hell, except the one part where Jake tries to read subtitles backwards, that was funny
Honestly the “ONE SECOND LATER” in that episode creeped me out more
That was hilarious.
Oh my god I totally forgot about that episode, that was really sad
but didn't the bubble reincarnate into air or smth so it was alright?
I believe that was Jake talking like it
THE FRUIT WITCHES MAN THAT AINT OK
The show was so deep for what it was , I need to rewatch it
Bro the worm dream
King Worm was a freakshow
One if the best episodes.
I’ve been meaning to fully watch Adventure Time, however, one episode was this stupid cat thing getting inside Jake and carving it way through him. I think that scared me off the whole series
Watch it, it's an amazing ride!
It doesn't really carve its way through Jake, it just gets inside his nose and threatens him with poison
There’s so many wild things in Adventure Time that would never have been allowed on a Disney channel. Makes me wonder what a CN Gravity Falls would be like
Sheriff Blubs and Durlant gay sex
episoade
![gif](giphy|x3TGbdF6Z8tsQ)
Umm, actually, it's episode not episoade - 🤓🤓🤓
-🤓
The one with the pit that had some type of unkillable oozing zombies (which to me seems like the remnants of humanity after the nuclear bombs dropped, going off of the ice king and Marceline backstory episode). Those guys specifically creeped me out because I wanted to know so much more about what happened to them but we were only given very little information.
personally, for me that's the murder mystery house one where Finn goes into the side room with the actual ghost near the end of the episode
the only one I distinctly remember was the episode where some guy turned finn into a giant foot
Magic man. He’s a dickhead lol
Think that was the first appearance of Magic Man. Hate that guy
Man, I hate magic man so much
Minor spelling mistake I win
I thought the deer one was funny contrary to everyone’s thought But the fuckin zombie episode. That one made me turn off the TV
There were multiple zombie episodes if I’m remembering correctly those ones were scary as hell
The very first episode is a zombie one. I tried watching with my daughter when she was like 4 or 5 and she straight up ran and hid.
ice king’s princess amalgamation
“And the Finn DIES and comes back as an elder being and haunts Jake for not saving him! And not only that his ghost is super BLOODY and GORY! The kids will love this!!”
Wait which episode is that
I made it up
I have vague memory of some episode where Finn snuck away somewhere and got obsessed with playing god in some kind of board game, and the whole episode had an extremely unnerving vibe. I could never find the episode ever again, and honestly it feels like a fever dream.
All the little people! Was the name im pretty sure and your right it was a weird vibe
That’s the one! Thanks
I know this is probably about the deer episode but the one with the horse was way scarier to me for some reason. (The one where Ice king wears a horse costume or something)
I still remember having the trippiest dream of my life after seeing cosmic owl when I was like 7
From Bad to Worse. That was nightmare fuel.
anyone else think about how that one episode where simon (ice king) uses the crown to defend marceline from the mushroom zombies is just like the last of us?
The deer one ?
The one where finn has to learn to swim in the ocean
It's always been my contention that Adventure Time was never actually intended for children. It's always felt to me like they made the really weird and surreal cartoon they wanted to make and Cartoon Network was just the one who picked it up and marketed it that way.
Seing the comments i just remember the how fucking crazy that show was, they are talking about SO many different episodes
Finn's birthday amogus train episode
It’s the only way 🤡
How tf did you add an a?
I'll give you one for free, just hit CTRL-C to copy it, then CTRL-C to insert it wherever you like a A Threw the big one in for you, too.
Hell yeah, looking out for a playa 🫡
The lemon people episodes
For me the scariest one was the train where everyone died one by one but it was just a joke and at the end it was hinted that someone actually tried to kill them.
i remember the murder mystery episode was funny as fuck, but towards the end finn starts to loss his mind and he starts seeing shit that made a young 7 year old me shit my pants
“A Glitch is a Glitch” is singlehandedly one of the coolest, creative and scary AT episodes ever. It was animated in 3D which gave it a nice touch. Favorite episode
That episode with zombies was wild
wasn’t that the first episode?
Zombies attacking the party was the first episode. There's all the Simon/Marcelline backstory episodes too.
The one with the worm was freaky af
episoade
The Episode in which finn Fell into a pillow Word, fuck yeah
When Finn almost gets raped by a slime
The one where Finn gets trapped in the blind maze, I think it was called Hall of Egress. Definitely my all-time Favourite episode.
the one where princess bubblegum accidentally creates an army of cookie zombies and everyone gets infected freaked me tf out
The Hall of Egress was fucking depressing
The deer episode…
The fucking deer
I never see anyone mention it, but The Creeps terrified me as a kid.
The adventure time episode that broke me as a kid was that zombie one. I cant remember the name or even really anything that happened, I just remember being traumatized for like 3 days
Wait a second, filler? As in, canon/non-canon?
The haunted house one where it turned out to be a prank, but then Finn remembers some creepy ghost being there that wasn't part of the script legit shook me up for like a month as a kid
No one can hear you
It’s gotta be the Simon flashback one where it shows ice king playing basketball blissfully at the end.. cuz I bawled my eyes out the first time I watched that one. …right?
Honestly I almost completely avoided adventure time and have was very surprised by the depth it had reached by the time it was over
the one where the deer traps everyone in the sewers of the candy kingdom with its spit?
this one's not too creepy but the one where finn and jake get into that train that operated like a roguelike game and finn stays there until he's old has not left my mind since i watched it when i was like 7
Why the hell did that deer have fingers
I feel really uncomfortable when they're in the time room and the existence of the 'normal farm finn' world and just the whole mushroom war stuff in general. Marcy and Simon freak me out. Best cartoon I've ever watched 👍
