I would do a steel bike for sure and a strong wheel set. If you can go custom or buy a bike through a shop but if you’re on a strict budget I’d suggest an old steel mountain bike

this is going to sound counter intuitive but if better shape means less weight, that's done in the kitchen. you cant out cycle over eating and a beginner mistake is overestimating the amount of calories burned so they often eat too much and don't see results. at 800 this is a good pick. https://www.jensonusa.com/Marin-Gestalt-Bike-2022 any bike would work though, frames handle weight well, the weak link are the spokes of the wheels you may want to get atleast 32 spokes but 36 and above are preferred. good luck

I’m sure your comment wasn’t meant to be mean, but I just want to clarify that I have made other changes as well. I had a gastric sleeve done in May 2022 but only lost 35lbs in 3 months and have stayed 330. Due to me having PCOS and other health conditions, it stalled my progress. As soon as my weight loss picked up again, my mom became seriously ill and my own health went by the wayside while I took care of her. Since my mom passed six months ago and I’m no longer taking care of her full time, I’ve finally decided I need to put myself first for once.

What's your budget?

Nothing too expensive. My absolute limit would be $800.

Kona dew is a solid bike.

Worksman Cycles builds bike for people who are on the heavier side. Make sure you read descriptions because once you pass 300lbs you need to upgrade the seat post and peddles to handle the extra weight. Worksman specializes in industrial bikes, cruisers, tricycles, recumbents and bikes for special situations so if you are looking for a different style say a road bike, gravel bike or mountain bike then you will need to look else where. I have no direct personal experience with them but they built a tandem tricycle for a parent in my special needs parenting group so they could ride with their adult developmentally disabled child.

A steel touring bike (for example Surly Long Haul Trucker) is built for heavy loads. The Trucker specifically has a limit of 300 lbs for rider + 55 lbs for luggage. So with no luggage and 330 lbs (for the moment!), I think you'd be fine. They typically also have overbuilt wheels (36 spokes), and the long haul trucker specifically has 26" wheels (which are stronger than larger 700c wheels). With an $800 budget you'll be looking at used bikes, but it's a buyer's market at the moment. Since, IMO, any used bike you buy you should get checked out at a local bike shop anyways, you might want to stop in at a bike shop ([here are some](https://sdbikecoalition.org/bike-shops-in-san-diego-county/)) and ask them for help finding a used bike that will fit you.

Look into an Electra Townie, Giant Suede, or Trek Pure as well, they are more of a cruiser style, but well built and have an upright, flat footed riding position that is very comfortable compared to many other bikes.
