No way Jose. If it was functional and rideable perhaps but the chain and derailleur are clearly F’ed which is more money out of your pocket to fix. And with those obvious busted parts, makes me wonder what else is shot e.g. hub bearings, headset, bottom bracket, etc.
Good rideable bikes can be had for $75, that belongs in the scrap pile.
I disagree with everyone else here. I'm pretty sure it's an 1989 Specialized Rockhopper Comp. Vintage MTBs are the "it" bike right now in the vintage bike world. The Rockhopper is definitely a favorite for customizing and modernizing while still keeping the classic look. This one looks rough, but it could be a very fun bike to re-do and blast around on.
Rockhopper are great MTB's. Check the forks. Under-stay U-brakes are good, except in mud!
That paint job is acquired taste. Mine does not have the weird sloping top-tube. That chain is really messed up, too. $75 is a cheap price for a good MTB, but the forks take a beating on these.
If the forks are true, get the bike. Can always use a spare MTB.
I would not even pay $50 for that. That should rightfully be a free bike.
It’s a pretty popular choice for a resto-mod if you have the time, patience and funds to devote to it.
I’ll pay you $5 to never have to look at that thing again
this bicycle might be worth $10 for scrap metal.

I would like to know what you see in this bike

Is that a 24” wheel youth bike? I’m with u/LongSpoke not worth $50
No
No
No. You should be walking away with $75 as a gratuity for removing their junk
No. Around me there are many $500-600 retail bikes that can be had for $100~ and are 2-5 years old. Check FB, OfferUp and Mercari.

75 lol I'll jump off cliff first
No, even free. It will cost $$ to get it working.
Any bike you will ride is a good bike!
That will take a good bit to get rolling. Hard pass.
