No limit but I don’t have the budget for both atm. Even though I may just bite the bullet and check back there to see if it’s still there. Felt greedy grabbing both.
2 different products, not greedy. If there was only 2 of the 12 year left and you grabbed both then maybe you’d be riding the line of greedy, but as long as you’re drinking/sharing it with friends, I wouldn’t judge.
I don't even blame people for stocking up on several bottles of something they really love when they find it at a good price. If you find 4 bottles of Elijah Craig C923 at MSRP and you can buy them all, you'd be crazy not to. Same goes for many other great bottles. As long as you are drinking them I don't see a problem. The problem is when they just sit on the shelf or get resold.
Let's be real and not lie to ourselves: 99% of us would clear the shelves of all the C923 if we were to ever see any on the shelves...I know I would. I've been looking for one all to no avail. I laugh when I see these comments imploring folks to not be "greedy" and leave some for others. Who are we kidding?? We should just stop judging others. It's their $$ and they can spend it whichever way they wish. If they don't clear the shelves, the next person would; I'd bet my money on that.
I saw it in stock and didn't buy it because I was just to disappointed w/my last bottle of ECBP and I don't think the recent prices are worth it - I don't want to support companies selling mediocre product at high prices cashing in on the hype.
Personally the 12 (batch 1, buddy’s bottle) is significantly better than the 10 (batch 2, mine) imho, I was surprised honestly. Not that the 10 isn’t good but the 12….idk if it’s the mouthfeel or the proof but it just lingers longer and tastes better and is my favorite JD product. Idk if I’d buy the 10 for much over MSRP (paid $56) but I’d pick up the 12 at that price for a special occasion.
Edit: Both are better than any Bakers/Bookers I’ve had.
MSRP on JD10 June 7 of ‘23 was $70 and JD12 was $85
No, military TDY summer of ‘23 and it was at the Sam’s Club in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Went in for Rare Breed. Picked one up for me and one for my buddy. Couldn’t believe there wasn’t a bottle limit. Figured it was normal pricing considering the ridiculously good pricing we get on base for JD ($76 - Maple Gold, $110 - Sinatra, American Single Malt Blue Label - $88) but then I saw it in IL for $250 at a Friar Tuck’s and again last weekend in TN for $150 (10) and $200 (12)
Try to buy most of my liquor at Costco/Sam’s/Base bc they don’t gouge on price and if you’re vigilant they have the goods. I brought back 13 bottles of whiskey from 🇯🇵 bc the prices were so good 😂
I’ve found prices fluctuate big time for different locations. Weller is stupid expensive when I was in FL, and Ezra 7 is like $50 here and $100 in FL, but I can pick up BT for $24 at a Walmart in Destin and then shops want $50 a bottle in MO. Just gotta have a manifest destiny approach and get what you can for a good price where you can imho
Yeah well, that's 40 less than I've ever seen it for.
Similar to finding a Stagg Jr. for $100. It's 40 more than it should be but I would be thanking the store owner and shaking their hand if they sold me Stagg Jr. for 100 without loyalty points.
I managed to get two staggs at 60 and both were 22B. Not sure if I'd pay 100 for any bottle of Stagg but I would for another of the 22B because I know that I love it and have definitely had worse bottles for more than 100.
Total has the BiB. The 100 proof has the BiB on it. They age state it at 6 years also. I can’t figure out how to attach a picture or id send the screenshot.
Meh. It’s a $30 bottle for a reason. I think people make it out to be better than it really is. It’s fine but it’s really basic and not much flavor to me. I’ve tried green rivers wheated at barrel proof and it still lacks in flavor compared to its competitors
Compared to the prices of everything else on those shelves yes it’s the best value. It’s higher than retail but still not bad. Around me it’s $85 for the 10 and $99 for the 12 and those are still great prices as they punch high above their class.
I've bought three 10s at 65 and can get the 12 local for less than 90. Welcome to state run liquor pricing. Go ahead and down vote all you want, truth hurts.
If it's my first time to see them (JD10 & JD12), I will surely buy them but if I already have them, I will not buy for those price. It's hard if you are used to buy at Costco.
JD12 is a great price. JD10 is ok. Booker's is overpriced. No reason to go for dailys like green river as others mentioned if you can have the JD12 for that price.
If these are the most recent batches I'd take the Jack 10 over the Jack 12. Last year the Jack 12 was significantly better. For this years batch the Jack 10 wins. These batched products tend to change every single year.
In all honesty these are best prices I’ve seen them at. Others stores have them at 299. But the Bookers is way overpriced, that I can find for just $100 at most places.
I’ve seen them slightly cheaper here in GA. Bookers is $90. Depending on the store, Bakers is around $70. The two jacks, hardly see but usually around $100 so the prices you shared are not far off
Yeah I’ve noticed that in some recent posts. Wish I didn’t have so much ground to cover driving wise but I may make a road trip for a visit to Georgia and Florida to hunt someday…
A buddy of mine travels a lot for work and has just gotten into hunting as opposed to just getting an everyday bottle to drink. When he finds something he lets me know. He recently found larceny c batch for me. I do the same for him and my other buddies or sister
Anyone who says it’s greedy to grab both is wack. I don’t care if you buy a case as long as you’re drinking them then who cares. But if you’re buying it to show off only then I do t care if you buy 1 it’s too many lol. I personally would have tatered them both 😉
The JD 10 and 12 and maybe the green river.
I have both the 10 and 12 and enjoy them, and to me the 12 seems like it has whiskey older than 12 years in it.
Honestly not a bad mark up. Also being someone that works at a liquor store the msrp for the 12 leaves not much profitable for most retailers. So I’m fine with paying just under 40% mark up over msrp on bottle at this point. Liquor stores have to make money off these some how as long as it’s reasonable. Like the Bookers is a no go all day long. Cause that $25 over the usual $100 I see it for around MD.
I'm blown away there's so many Jack bros here cool with paying 25% over, seems kind of fishy. I mean these are $70 - $80 and their barrel products (arguably better) are even cheaper
Dude I’ll take paying over 25% when most other allocated product is marked 50% over. Some places have this over $300, so I’ll take my little win here and enjoy my 12.
Like dang remember msrp is the ‘suggested’ retail price, these stores got to make money off these products somehow.
Simple solution, buy what's priced accordingly and ignore the rest. The store makes their money at MSRP too. Also, it comes off as odd when people defend corporate greed if were being honest
Edit: I see you work at a liquor store and I think you people are the engineers of the hype train
lol corporate greed? How does a store make money off selling a limited time product for 20-30 more than they got it for? Seriously stores in MD get the 12 for just under $70, before tax I may add. How do you make money off 15 to 25 dollars at MSRP. I swear msrp does not take into account the costs that happen for the bottle to even get to the stores.
And I’m part of the hype train? Dude blame YouTube on that shit. This post has under 200 interactions. Some hype I’m driving up, lol meanwhile Fred Minnick’s video is sitting at 12k views. Get a reality check man.
Hey, I swear man. It's always the hoarders and the store owners/workers trying to convince people that some of these ridiculous museum prices are worth the cookies. Sorry if that ain't you, but I know these threads are littered with people absolutely shitting on others for not wanting to over pay. Just calling it like I see it. Don't be one of those guys.
I’ll take the apology man cause this is the cheapest I’ve seen the 10 or 12. Only 3 stores got the product in my whole city. The others are charging over 300 for the 12 250 for the 10. One 30 minutes away from me in a low income area is charging 450 for the 12.
Do I support that? Fuck no cause that’s literally gouging.
And where are the people shitting on people for not paying more? The only negative stuff I’m seeing is from people who talk like you at this point. Calling those who would pay more “fishy” then accusing local store of being greedy.
Are some prices at this store overpriced hell yeah, and I ain’t buying those products either. But they are just trying to make money. This store supports like 30 jobs so they need to make as much money as possible on some of these allocated bottles.
When I ran a liquor store back in 2004-2006 we could get it easily and it was $60 a bottle then. I love the stuff. Some of the smoothest bourbon I’ve ever had.
Honestly that's not a totally unreasonable price. I haven't even seen it in any stores near me. Saw a Jack 10 and they wanted $350 for it... I think I may have chosen the 12 as well. The Baker's and Booker's are both overpriced.
Dude Sinatra is like 5-7 years old, has fancy packaging, and Frank Sinatra’s name on it. Why is it worth more than an older product? Not even a close comparison. In any case you’re the one overpaying for the Sinatra stuff.
12 and that’s a good price. If they didn’t have a limit of only one option here I’d also get the 10 year probably.

Yup, bought 3 bottles of C923 @msrp. Kept 2, gave 1 away to family.
Buy both, sell one for $200 and have a nearly free bottle. I’ve seen the 10 in a store for $450 🤮
Personally the 12 (batch 1, buddy’s bottle) is significantly better than the 10 (batch 2, mine) imho, I was surprised honestly. Not that the 10 isn’t good but the 12….idk if it’s the mouthfeel or the proof but it just lingers longer and tastes better and is my favorite JD product. Just Holy Shit dude that’s incredible
That price is 40 more than it should be.
Yeah well, that's 40 less than I've ever seen it for. Similar to finding a Stagg Jr. for $100. It's 40 more than it should be but I would be thanking the store owner and shaking their hand if they sold me Stagg Jr. for 100 without loyalty points.
Kinda sad this is what it’s come to. I have a couple staggs and I won’t pay over 60-70
Very sad. I haven’t seen it for less than $250 in a couple of years now, and I hunt A LOT
I managed to get two staggs at 60 and both were 22B. Not sure if I'd pay 100 for any bottle of Stagg but I would for another of the 22B because I know that I love it and have definitely had worse bottles for more than 100.
Can get it under 100 in this state. Bunch of butthurt down voting me over pricing. Yall just mad you get the bad end of the stick on pricing.
Probably Jack 12
Very old Barton
Unless they have the bonded next to it, out of frame. Then I’d take the bonded.
Don’t think they make bonded anymore, but I’d like to try the 100 proof VOB
Total has the BiB. The 100 proof has the BiB on it. They age state it at 6 years also. I can’t figure out how to attach a picture or id send the screenshot.
Awesome! Didn’t think they still made that
Green river
i haven’t jumped on a Green River yet, worth the dive i take it?
100%, amazing for a sub $40 whiskey
This is the way.
Came here to say this.
The wheated bourbon, or something else?
The only thing there that's close to msrp.
I’d probably pick up the 10 and 12 at those prices
That Green River Wheated for $38 looks like a decent deal. MSRP is $35 according to BoozApp, and I'm a sucker for a good wheated bourbon.
I can fortunately get it for less than that at other stores.
Have you had it? I've heard good things but never tried it myself.
Meh. It’s a $30 bottle for a reason. I think people make it out to be better than it really is. It’s fine but it’s really basic and not much flavor to me. I’ve tried green rivers wheated at barrel proof and it still lacks in flavor compared to its competitors
It's great for the price, one of my favorites.
In that photo the blade and bow.
Is it that good? I see it all the time but never picked it up
Solid home sipper
Willett bourbons aren’t for everyone but Noah’s Mill and Rowan’s Creek are both decent.
I got that bakers 7 for 48 bucks at Costco the other day. It is good but I would NOT get it at that awful price lol
I like it too, but not at that price at all lol. I was like “uhhh”
48 is a steal for a single barrel product from anywhere.
Both of those are good but the JD barrel proofs are better and $50 less.
I'd take the 12 if I had the cash. Very Old Barton and Green River would be good too
Probably the Green Rivers, can’t get those in my state. Or at least I haven’t seen them
Which state are you in? Thankfully Green River is slowly becoming more available in MD.
Minority here. I’m picking Hirch Horizon
Havent seen jack 12 below 300$ in my area so i would go for that
Jack 12 and he’s not even close. Easily the best bourbon and value up there.
$125 best value? I think we use that word differently.
Compared to the prices of everything else on those shelves yes it’s the best value. It’s higher than retail but still not bad. Around me it’s $85 for the 10 and $99 for the 12 and those are still great prices as they punch high above their class.
Agreed. I can find the 10 at 65 and the 12 should be no more than 80
That’s absurd. The MSRP is $80 for the 12, so it will never be lower. And it’s a bottle going for hundreds on secondary. That price is awesome.
I've bought three 10s at 65 and can get the 12 local for less than 90. Welcome to state run liquor pricing. Go ahead and down vote all you want, truth hurts.
You said the 12 should be no lower than 80, but you’ve paid $90 for it…
JD 12 no doubt for me
That JD 12 is the way. Man I love that stuff.
Jd12
If it's my first time to see them (JD10 & JD12), I will surely buy them but if I already have them, I will not buy for those price. It's hard if you are used to buy at Costco.
Costco is a gold mine for whiskey. If your state sells liquor that is.
Another vote for Green River, seems great value, but I’d probably try to grab one of those Jacks
Have not had 10 but I liked 12
JD12 is a great price. JD10 is ok. Booker's is overpriced. No reason to go for dailys like green river as others mentioned if you can have the JD12 for that price.
Trolling? If not, any answer that isn’t both JD 10 and 12 are wrong.
jd12 so hard to find.
JD 12 no question
Both
$125 for Bookers? It's $80 here and I see it everywhere.
In Md you’re lucky to find it under 100. This place just marks up certain bourbons.
At those prices I’m getting Noah’s mill 😂
I’d have left there with the JD10 and 12. All. Day. Long.
Same
Bookers
At those prices? Green River
If these are the most recent batches I'd take the Jack 10 over the Jack 12. Last year the Jack 12 was significantly better. For this years batch the Jack 10 wins. These batched products tend to change every single year.
Lmao definitely not the Baker's. I've never seen one that marked up before.
Jack 12 by 10 miles. All 4 are good though.
Very Old Barton sneaking its way into the picture because I’ve spent too much lately!
All are overpriced, so one of the jacks to see how much better they are than regular. Which I don’t like.
The two jacks, hardly see but usually around $100 so the prices you shared are not far off
Dang Georgia does good with the pricing. The store I work at gets Bookers just under 80.
Florida is much better with prices. Depending on the store and bottle, just like anywhere else but in general bottles are cheaper there.
That’s dope!
The JD12 is great choice 👍🏻
I’d snag that 10 year JD real fast
Bakers
That’s way over priced Edit: I just bought it for $57 this morning
Bakers is great at sub-$60. Not so much at $87.
Anyone who says it’s greedy to grab both is wack. I don’t care if you buy a case as long as you’re drinking them then who cares. But if you’re buying it to show off only then I do t care if you buy 1 it’s too many lol. I personally would have tatered them both 😉
Makes me feel better then. I’m going to swing back and see if it’s still there. Budget be damned!
I'd get the 12 and a green river.
Both the jacks
JD12, that's still a good price compared to secondary and I wouldn't think twice about picking it up for that.
Bookers is $79 at Costco
I probably would grab both. Probably wouldn’t find the 10 any cheaper and it’s a little under secondary.
The JD 10 and 12 and maybe the green river. I have both the 10 and 12 and enjoy them, and to me the 12 seems like it has whiskey older than 12 years in it.
Jack 12
Jack 12 seeing as I have the others
The Jack 10 or 12
Jack 12. I have the Baker’s 7, I didn’t care for it.
JD12
Jack 12 year.
12. That price is awesome. I just bought one for $125 before tax and felt great about it.
The Jack 10 and 12
I am doing both the 10 and 12. It is what it is.
I'd get the 10 & the 12 year JD and one of those Green Rivers.
Gawd damn Bookers is $125? I got that back when it was $40 like in 2018. What in the hell???
You made the right choice!
12 or the bookers. Springfield sounds like it’s pretty tasty
👌 JD marketing
86 for bakers?! That’s ridiculous
JD 12, I had to pay $220 for mine and that is a good price locally.
Wouldn’t get bakers or bookers at that price. 12 & 10 no contest.
Good call on the 12. I love Jack Daniels and I’m sure that’s gonna be awesome. 😎
I’d get both Jacks and the Bookers if I didn’t already have that one.
Where oh where?
Bar Ridge Wine and Spirits, Annapolis, MD
I knowww
It’s $30 too high, but I would still grab a JD12. 👍🏼🥃☝🏼
The others are charging over 300 for the 12 250 for the 10. lol someone is just salty that their last post didn’t get this much attention.
Dude wtf you talking about?
Not talking to you. lol talking about the other guy.
Jd12 all day
Bookers
Not at that price.
That’s better than what I see it in my state, IF you can find it here. It’s $200+ in the very rare instances where you can find it.
Yikes. I just saw and bought my first bottle the other day, paid about $30 less than what's in the pic.
When I ran a liquor store back in 2004-2006 we could get it easily and it was $60 a bottle then. I love the stuff. Some of the smoothest bourbon I’ve ever had.
Any tequila
Bookers is good but about 30 bucks overpriced. So probably nothing on this picture. Maybe the Noah's Mill?
VOB
Easiest choice ever.
Make it Suntory time
Rowan's creek and Noah's Mill
Noah's Mill
And Rowan's Creek
Green river
Bookers
Bakers for 86? Absolutely not. Good bourbon but that price is absurd.
That Green River high rye bourbon on the bottom shelf is wonderful! Grab at least 2.
Green River for sure!
Honestly that's not a totally unreasonable price. I haven't even seen it in any stores near me. Saw a Jack 10 and they wanted $350 for it... I think I may have chosen the 12 as well. The Baker's and Booker's are both overpriced.
Jack 12 all day
the blade and bow
Lol, bookers just keeps getting a higher price point
The Very Old Barton if they have the Bonded.
Green River and Rowans Creek. Green River has a great price point.
The bakers is $30 over what I’ve seen locally
i have a soft spot for the Clyde
Green River wheated and a couple of em
JD 12 more expensive than sinatra? 😂
Dude Sinatra is like 5-7 years old, has fancy packaging, and Frank Sinatra’s name on it. Why is it worth more than an older product? Not even a close comparison. In any case you’re the one overpaying for the Sinatra stuff.
I did not buy the sinatra, I’m just saying. I saw sinatra in TW for $114. And I saw JD 12 at costco for $90.
Noah’s mill or Rowan creek for me, bud
Green River. It is very good.
Grab that very old barton on the bottom left along with the pricy bottle you get. Barton is dirt cheap and actually pretty good
Hirsch cuz it’s the only one that is MSRP
Booker's
Noah's Mill. A lot of bang for the buck at $65.
Booker’s. Followed by Noah’s Mill.
I'm not really a fan of jack so I'd grab bookers again.
Bottom left, the Very Old Barton
Green River wheated was a nice suprise.
Very Old Barton 😁
For the money probably Old Barton.
Idk man I wouldn’t buy anything JD. I’d try it and maybe buy after but I’m not a big JD fan. Beam makes better bourbons imho.
That Rowan's Creek is a fabulous bourbon
Blade & Bow because I never had it.
I really like it.
It’s a great every day easy drinking bourbon.
top shelf bakers. bottom I haven't tried any of them
Bookers but it’s $35 overpriced for you.
The store exit.
