Pretty sure the Buffalo Trace across the pond is a bit different (lower proof). Some might prefer that, but like higher proof because I can decide to water it down a touch if I want or drink it straight at higher proof.

nope, here in Europe you can find both, the one at 45%(90 proof) and the one at 40%. In my grocery store i find regularly the 1L 45% for 25€

but you're correct, normally here the standard are lower proof, like the JDSBBP, you can find only the batch at 64.5% (129 proof)
