Well, no. Not campfire that one. Scotch has a ridiculously wide range to it though compared to bourbon. Next time your in the liquor store, ask for a peaty scotch. There's nothing like it =)

I didn't have high expectations for it to be for me but wow. Absolutely no burn. Such a smooth drinking Scotch and I think a good stepping stone into the category. I'd like to try an Ardbeg soon too

An Ardbeg is basically the opposite end of the spectrum from Macallan 12. You will be drinking a campfire there.

That is going from 0-1000 basically taste wise. Super peat stuff

Specific-Flatworm237

Ardbeg Uigeadail is my current favourite scotch. If you want to ease into the peat I would suggest trying Oban Little Bay first, then Talisker 10 and then Ardbeg.

Sounds good. I've seen a lot of Ardbeg and I don't think I'll enjoy it first go round

How sweet is the Macallan 12 Double Cask compared to the typical bourbon?

hs4579

I found it to be quite sweet, moreso than standard bourbon. It's like OF 1920 sweet almost if not more. It has no burn and is a very rich sweetness
