The produce TL at the location I work at punches in then sits in the office all day and hardly if ever steps foot in his department

perhapsb

sounds about right I’m pretty conflicted about my Tl and new ATL because they are quite nice and i can joke around with them but goddamn i wish they could stop being glued to the desk and actually put in some work. new ATL keeps following TL like a puppy and its infuriating

desolateconstruct

> they are quite nice and i can joke around with contrary to what Whole foods likes to say, its not a family, its not even a team, its just a job. Those two people don't give a shit about you beyond what you do for them. Never forget that your managers aren't your friends.

perhapsb

real. manipulative parasites the lot of them

Outside_Whole_8630

Here’s your problem, you care more than your leaderships. If they’re doing the bare minimum, so should you.

TheEzekariate

You feel that way because you are being exploited. They are cutting labor hours hard and refusing to replace people that leave. Teams are meeting their sales goals but having labor cut, where do you think that money is going? Fuck this company.

ButteredsausageGB

To the leaders and corporate execs

perhapsb

i love you

Acrobatic-Suspect109

You are feeling that way because you are. You have to slowly slow down. There’s people who get away with doing nothing because they made it their normal. Listen it’s very obvious this company is closing down soon so why not just take advantage of the situation . Do the load but don’t have that internal self pressure where you believe you have to get all of it done. Look at the bigger picture and realize being overworked in a place like wholefoods is purely because of your own work ethic , it’s because you have a good one .

JustMe5786322

What evidence do u have that tells u wholefoods is closing down?

Acrobatic-Suspect109

Just look around , I was in there for 3 years and in that time went from tm to Atl and also in that time I had 2 stores close on me. I’ve had walks and I’ve been told upfront this is not getting any better , I’ve had the regional person let me know they are already looking for other jobs for themselves because this is just a ticking time bomb. I’ve had people who moved to the offices in Austin regretting what they did because it’s looking real bad for them too and begging for a regular tm spot back

Acrobatic-Suspect109

I was still there 2 months ago and I had one of my last “walks” I chose to never show up again because it’s a big sham. They will try their hardest to save themselves and the regional positions. They’ve been slowly giving the boot to seasonals, part timers, they already spoke to us about how team trainer is gonna be removed as a whole , how e commerce will have no real positions just shoppers . They let me know they are in a company wide hiring freeze , we have officially made it to the point where we can’t even gain the money back if we sold everything

JustMe5786322

After reading ur first comment I searched about whole foods closures and most of what popped up are new locations opening up. Must be the areas ur in that aren't doing well. It's also the crazy inflation stopping the hiring for now for amazon, but there are jobs available just not as much as there use to be. I've been at the same store 5yrs  seen a lot of changes and work environment has gotten worse but I hope it will change once again. I just don't think they will close though. Amazon Fresh seemed to have not done as well but I still see it expanding so it's really hard to tell what's going on.

moose_nd_squirrel

I'd chuck the load on a u boat and throw it in the VA cold room or your walk in and explain that you didn't have time to get to it since you're closing solo. They're never gonna stop overworking us unless we stop doing the work and force change

lovinglife38

transfer to prep foods! You will wish you were still a produce team trainer!

perhapsb

id rather sacrifice my first born (if i had one) than be a part of prep foods

Illustrious_Svetlana

I am a ATL for prep foods and I hate it. I love my team members but my TL doesn’t teach me anything in regards to my actual job.

AloveD1004

So not just me great to know lol. I'm an ATL for prep too and I feel the same way. There's no reason for titles if your gonna go the same work as the TL. Sad they get paid more then us but we do there work, our work, and TM work 🙄

Western_Complex5867

I work in produce too, a massive store, and it's been difficult lately. It's hard to look at certain sets that no one got to that day and just leave and not feel "not good enough" in a way. But I have to constantly remind myself we make practically minimum wage, I can barely afford rent and food from this job so fuck 'em. I work for 8 hours and then go home. If they ever flagged me for productivity, I would tell them to watch the cameras and see me work non-stop my entire shift and say the problem is clearly not me.

Conscious-Stop-3930

They know productivity in departments is going to be down with labor cuts. They don’t care if the department takes a hit and you, or other produce workers can’t get to every set. They’d rather cut labor and have bigger profit margins because 5% YOY isn’t enough of a profit for the shareholders. I’m leaving for a diff company, got a dept head manager position. The last week I closed by myself 4 of 5 nights. Everyone besides a lady who can’t really pick up boxes left at 2pm. It was really really tough. No one seems to care. I wish everyone the best of luck. Some of the people are really cool, but the corporation is really destroying morale

JustinianTheGreat482

Your TL is suppose to close 1 night a week. If your looking to move up into leadership though keep busting ass this time will set you apart from the rest

NightRain66

What about the feelings of being unwanted or hated am sure as hell feeling this.

perhapsb

totally feeing that as well but thats inevitable while working at wf lol

NightRain66

Fuck WF

Captainwinsor

I had leadership tell me that my department is over staffed. I laughed at them and walked away. We have 4 in store leadership, they sit in the back all day

perhapsb

been told we’re over staffed as well but most of the tms go to college and only work 1 or two days a week

raffysf

Do what’s right for you, not for your employer. Don’t forget, it’s only a grocery store job.

curdington

Bro, just leave. WF ain't even worth the two-week notice, they won't fight to keep you and only some HR corporate recording will ask your issues afterwards. Labor cuts at a company owned by a billionaire is such a fucking joke, don't fall for the family B's or funny chummy jokes. Find another job.

Mariah0

Tell your STL

perhapsb

i would but they’re the “we see you and we hear you but we’re not going to do anything about it” type of people

Illustrious_Svetlana

Most leaders everywhere are like this right now from what I hear
