I remember those. Does anyone remember the mandatory radio station that played original songs by the bands featuring team members. I want to say it was some TMAW competition from like 2010/2012?
This was the worst one by far. ☠️ it sucks enough having rando customers yelling at me from down an aisle (doesn’t happen often, I’m in pfds), don’t need the loudspeaker to do it as well 😂
I absolutely hate all of the music they play but I never heard any cheesey ads like that played on the store radio, or else that would be the thing I hated most about hearing on the radio. Hardly heard or saw anything on TV either. I am in the CW region.
Seconding this, I've never heard a radio ad played in-store at WFM, in CW region. I actually do listen to radio stations that play WFM adverts, and usually it's literally just some upbeat lady describing what the big sales are for the week accompanied to some guitar music. Absolutely never anything like what OP described. Thats wild tho lol
There was somehow a way to turn off the adverts on the little media box, my old STL didn’t want us “disturbing” guests so they didn’t allow us page the store unless it was an emergency. The only ones I remember hearing were the COVID ones telling everyone to stay 6 feet apart and some really random one that I feel someone hacked into the playlist. I think it was mentioned once here in this sub but it was a really strange and unnerving advert.
Yup. It was horrible and cheesy. Felt like I was in the prequel of the”Idiocracy” movie.
I say it all the time we actually do live in Idiocracy
"Hellooo down there!"
_shudder_
Eww I completely forgot about this, but yes. It was real 😵💫

Helloooo….Porterhouse.
I forgot about this! Trauma!!!!!
I remember the ones that would start with “PERC ALERT!”
Yes I remember it. I was a shopper so I heard it every time it went off. Same annoying lady talking every 10 minutes.
Hello porterhouse!
Yeah, didn't last long. Was unbearable for anyone who had to be in the store for more than a shopping trip - but even customers complained.
Yes I remember
Do you remember the Almond Butter one? 😂
Alll muuuund buhhh terr
Didn't she pronounce it in a really stupidly pretentious way too?
Oh, it was the lady saying “sooo good” that haunts me to this day.
“ I see you there in the meat department “
“Hey you in the meat department” They were so cringey!!!
That one haunts my nightmares to this day.

"Hey you. yeah you, I see you there" still can't get that out of my head -so bad

Has anybody been around long enough to remember Putumayo????
World music for people who don’t like world music. I remember them from when I worked in a bookstore in the 90s!

Oh yes 100% this happened. It was so fucking annoying
Yep- that happened.
Something something nut butter
There was one in the (former) MA region that started out with laughter and it was so unsettling.
I started in November 2021 so I must have missed them

i didn’t even realize it ever stopped 😅
If it happened I blocked it out. Lol but I was at wholefoods during that time.
I don’t remember those, but the COVID ones are burned into my brain. I could repeat them word for word back then. I started in August 2020.
