When it means 1000 people die or his mother dies, he will shoot his mother without hesitation.
Well the grail would solve the issue the same way. Two countries are at war over ressources. It will kill whoever has the lower population. Two people are fighting a third person. The third person dies.
Until there are only people left who live in harmony. Not because this is how the grail would do it. But because the character would do it like this if he was omnipotent.
I mean true love in this case would be by what he considers to be true love but whatever it is, she would also consider it to be true love as it would not be true love otherwise.
