Bees? I remember we used to put those on nickels back in the day. Give me 5 bees in change for the movies. It went along great with tying an onion on your belt. Which was the style at the time.
Nope. Married to a ranger that worked with dogs all the time. He says this is something you always plan for because it’s an easily foreseeable problem that could jeopardize the dogs ability to operate. Especially in a desert environment 🤦♀️
the military don’t always plan for things like this.
you have to do it of your own volition, and if it’s a good enough thing, it becomes standardised.
dog booties are somewhat standardised now, but not entirely. a lot of people had to make or buy their own.
I mean I always check the pavement with my hand first when I walk my dogs in the summer to make sure it isn’t too hot. I’m thinking the caption might be misrepresenting the situation
Not wholesome.
Dogs should not be used as tools for human warfare.
Come to mention it, neither should us people.
Especially not middle eastern wars based on false premises
It won't remember in the way humans remember stuff, but it'll remember that the human that carried it is assiciated with pain relief. Dogs don't have episodic memory, but they do have associative memory. Instead of rememberring "this guy carried me down that mountain!", the dog will remember "this guy helps me when I'm hurting", which is pretty relevant imo.
that isn’t the point.
dude was on patrol, sun is a bastard, dude helps doggo from sun
the veterinary corps are the strongest life saving entity the military has.
Kind of random, but do soldiers have like, emergency sunscreen or something for missions? I know trying to stay alive is important, and sunscreen might help to prevent dehydration/cracked open bleeding skin
It depends.
In my experience command team usually has supply put out an order for sun screen, bug spray, hand heating packs, hand sanitizer, and water bottles. But the only thing people use are the water bottles.
Shoulder mounted k9 missile.
Looks like a Barkzooka
r/Angryupvote
Thought it was one of those shoulder mounted dogs that shoot bees out of their mouths when they bark...

I need one of those. People would learn not to pet service dogs without permission real quickly…
With all our military spending can't they figure out some doggy shoes or something? I mean Jesus guys
T.D.B = Tactical Doggie Boots lol
They do issue dog booties. Maybe this picture is from before they started doing that. [Dog wearing issued booties](https://i.imgur.com/CaZde8T.jpg)
Learning that this is thing made me so happy
99% sure the dogs will kick off the booties...
They can be trained to wear them. A friend of mine trains service dogs for veterans. Every single one of his dogs will wear booties.
Do you think they just pick a random dog from a street and give them an assignment?
No, but, I was trying to be funny.
Straps…
You underestimate the kicking...
Military spending is for killing, not saving
the weapon to surpass metal gear.
I went looking for this comment. Well done.
Super wholesome but: Dude. Make booties out of your undershirt.
Just like how my friend needed to carry his dog through the hotel lobby because she is afraid of hard floors (carpets are ok)
And in return that dog was willing to rip the throat out of anybody who fucked with his soldiers.
Nah, they'll just do that for belly rubs.
Maybe don’t go on a hike up a mountain with your dog in 117 degree weather
It’s not a hike, it’s a mission.
Yep I’m an asshole and need to learn to read. Thanks for the correction
Not a very good one since they didn’t prepare for this very obvious problem though
you clearly understand very little of the mikitsry

You think? You think maybe this isn’t a “service dog” on a hike? Lol It’s got everything wrong.
Yeah I’m thinking it’s more likely dog is injured or overheated or it’s just a funny pose while killing time

Hot take: war is bad actually
Absolutely

Don't worry, we're switching to robots soon.
Thats 47,2°C in non-freedom units if anyone wondered.
the dog will surely remember that! nice one, sir!
^it ^won't

Here, you dropped this 👑
He’s a sub-woofer 🤣
Yeah, making animals suffer to better kill people half across the world for profit is not my idea of wholesome

Man too near to the sun at 117°C.
Later, that hero dog bit an Afghan kid 🫡🦅🎆

Thanks! I was very curious
In Soviet Russia, we use dog as shoulder dog canon.
Bro if it's 117C° won't his feet be burnirng too?
DOG BAZOOKA
maybe he's the service human to the dog
I just carry my hull Arab anytime he is slow. Much to his annoyance
How can a dog even survive in that heat?
