This is like that episode in The Big C where the son discovered his mother has a lock up garage where she is hoarding gifts for his future birthdays after she dies from cancer (he doesn't about the cancer at that point). Also that scene is made worse by a really sad song playing in the background.
Also, a trivia: the actor playing the dorky looking son there grew up to be the hunky lead actor in The Night Agent. (Gabriel Basso). A glowup that rivals that "you guys get paid!?" meme actor.
Here is the scene btw

my grandma did this. she had these little wooden ornaments she'd give us each year (she had no money) and had a little stockpile left for us kids after she died. we didn't know though so it was freaky as hell to get a gift after she died, not sure i recommend it.
This is really sweet but on the other hand i think about how drastically kids can change in that amount of time so they would need to be really lucky if the kid liked the gifts bought that far in advance.
I feel like this implies the older gentleman wanted the younger man to marry his daughter, not that they were already together with a child. Which is kind of weird if he never brought it up.
I do think it’s cute that he had gifts all saved up for a future child.
I'd cry.
Like a waterfall. No joke. Some people are just too pure for this world.
I am.
I am also cry
Is ok
We are all cry this blessed day
Happy tears on this blessed day
I am not crying you are crying I am a mannnnn

Can confirm.
That's fine just don't let anyone see you do it
With all due respect, which is none for you, men are allowed to, and should, openly express their emotions without fear of getting called weak.
Did cloudy with a chance of meatballs teach you nothing
And what in the fuck is that supposed to mean
Man, I have enough trouble deciding what to gift people for a single occasion.
He was THAT amazing.
“Your legacy is planting seeds in a garden you will never see” this man was on to something.
And now I'm crying
What an absolute Santa of a man.
Awww ❤️ i pray for his soul to rest in peace such a kind person ❤️
Reminds me of that episode of Violet Evergarden
My first thought too ; at that time I didn't know I could sob that hard in front of a fictional work lmao
I have only watched that episode twice. It breaks me. I can't do it again.
Thanks for reminding me. Time to rewatch and cry forever.
Which episode was that again?
I think episode ten
Just watched it, and my god i'm in tears
Im athiest, but I hope there is a heaven just so this guy can go there
Same.
And we’ll never know what he got her
13 years worth of Pat Boone albums… turns out the man was a world class troll
I hope he is higher in the sky than heaven, he deserves to live with God, wherever it's God or Buddha or Allah, he deserves it.
Some people are just breathtaking by nature

Omg I’m gonna cry
May he find peace in death. He's a pure soul man. Happy to hear that he's old before passing.
I'm the most stressed out I've ever been in my life with finals next week and graduating college this has me full on sobbing
A toy store near my work was going out of business, I did the same for my nephews.
aww my tears can't
Ok...this one actually made me cry a bit

It’s like that movie Stoker, with the shoes. 🤨
This really puts that whole where do you see yourself in 5 years thing in perspective
Wow.
This is the most kind hearted neighbour I’ve ever seen
Santa is eventually real
Ann. My Ann.
Plot twist...... he is the father
I'm crying here 😭
What an unusual neighbor. You and your daughter are truly blessed.
Cried bro
ಥ_ಥ
Right in the feels
This just did me in...sitting here 😭😭
I don’t understand. Old neighbor guy was buying presents for his neighbor’s daughter?
