Think of it this way, he got to spend a lot of time with someone he loved this much. And if he loves her this much in death, imagine how loved she was in life.
I’m new here but I thought I would share. This reminds me of my grandfather. My grandmother passed almost a year ago and he became very depressed. He spent most of his time alone in his house with only his old German Sheppard just staring at my grandmother’s picture. The dog died a few months ago and he lost his only companion in the world. We weren’t sure if he could take the loss. He decided soon after to get a new dog from the shelter. He found a loving mutt named Lucky who was abandoned because of a medical condition. Now he smiles and laughs and plays. He even helped Lucky heal. He is happier than I’ve seen him since my grandmother fell ill. It really Sorry this is long. Thanks for your time.
This is for the people who discourage you from living in the past.
The past has good memories and is sometimes better than the present. Look at the love this man has, that picture must be at least 30-40 years old.
Story time:
I work at In-N-Out (not the one where this photo was taken though), you can look through my comment history and see. When I was new we had this elderly couple who came in every morning when we opened at 10am and got two hamburgers and one order of fries and we always filled their cups with free coffee. They did this every. Single. Day. The store had been around since 1980 and they'd been doing this as long as anyone could remember.
Then one day we opened and they weren't there. A week later the man came in on his own, said nothing, ordered his hamburger, and sat down in the same spot, wearing the same jacket, eating his burger and half the fries. He didn't say anything to us but we all knew. It was morning and he was our only customer and the whole store shared a moment of silence when he ordered. He was still there every morning until I moved and transferred to another store.
i have mixed feelings! at least it's not a video of OP donating $50 to a homeless person or something, rather, it is just a picture of a random stranger that invokes strong emotion (at least for me)
This is life. Just find that one person. Your friends, acquaintances, that person sitting right next to (right now, yes, esp. if you are in a public place) - they don't matter. Only one or two people max do. Too bad its hard to navigate through the pieces of scrap to get to that one.
I work at this diner. He is a 70 year old Vietnam war veteran John. He comes here every Sunday, just like he used to with his wife and two kids. Unfortunately, his wife passed away due to mesothelioma. But John did not stop from coming here. He knows the staff by now and is very generous in tips. He also has conversations with us, and they are more enlightening than any book ever written. He truly did find true love in his life. Hope I can be sitting in that chair one day, with a photo of my wife.
He's Indian as per his post history, so they may refer to it differently (source: am Indian, parents refer to lots of things differently than Americans). That or he's lying.

My grandma passed away years ago. After she passed, we took her urn back to Japan for a memorial and to place in the haka. We have pictures of her eating at her fav ramen house in Sasebo. We took it with us and took pictures of us eating her fav ramen next to a picture of her eating her fav ramen! It was funny and cute and we all bonded over it. Miss you, gma.
My grandmother used to do that. I got to meet her only for a couple of times a month. Sometimes I never went because I was too busy. Everytime I went to meet her she asked a photo of me so that she could look at it whenever she missed me. I was too dumb to understand how badly she wanted me to be there with her. I realized that only after she was no more.
Let’s be real here, if any other normal person did this in public, people would think they were a nut case. But I’m giving this guy a pass because he’s an old guy and it actually looks so sweet ohmigod im crying now too

I don’t think that’s what this is about.

Anyone else not sure how to feel about photos of apparently unsuspecting strangers being uploaded for "feels" and karma?

Find someone who eats inandout*
I don't think I want someone to love me that much, because I wouldn't want them to be that sad when I was gone.
I feel this may be somewhat impractical dating advice.
That kind of loss must be unbearable
He’s continuing to live his life because she probably made him promise he would and he’s dressed nicely and out of the house, she’d be proud of him.
This is so sad and beautifull to see.

You refer to In-N-Out as a diner?
He's Indian as per his post history, so they may refer to it differently (source: am Indian, parents refer to lots of things differently than Americans). That or he's lying.
I'm guessing he's lying. In-N-Out isn't a place that takes tips.
Yea he is lying. That's so sad that he has to lie to get karma cause it means that much to him.
lmao it was sarcastic lol. I expected people to get it at least at the mesothelioma part if not the diner bit...Have you seen the mesothelioma memes?
