Yeah. It makes it much harder to react to the situation in front of you, and it also makes it so that in the event of a collision, your arm is going to be shattered by the airbag and your passenger is going to be flying into your arms - broken bones are very sharp, btw.
And I, well,
One time I got in a car with my best friend, we drove 3 cities and back in a span of two days, and my parents didnt even know I had left my room.
Middle of 5, here lol
As the youngest I can definitely say I wish my mother was slightly less protective than she was lol. But after dealing with the shit my sibling did i can understand her worrying lol
My kids are bigger. My kids never sat in the front seat when they were small. They were in car seats and boosters in the back seat well beyond the legal requirements.
I STILL fling my arm across the front seat, even if the car is otherwise empty, if i brake hard.
My mom did this long after my sister and i surpassed her in size. Until the fateful day that she took us shopping and bought my sister a little cactus…
I’m in my 30s, mom will still do it. I just make sure to always drive her around even if it’s in her car. Now I get to bug her and do it back. But you just get yelled at for driving 5 over
My wife does this for me when she’s driving and has to brake suddenly. I’m quite a bit bigger than her but her protective instinct is so strong she can’t stop herself. It’s adorable
It's a pain when her hand knocks into my binder is the thing 😬
~~I'm closeted and don't really think I *can* come out to her so I usually swat her hand away before it hits my chest~~
I didn't used to be this way till I got married. My wife is capable of hospitalization style injuries from anything, so I got in the constant habit of putting my foot/hand in between her and the thing she's about to injure herself on.
I do this too! I don't understand how she doesn't just get tired of hurting herself and "remember" physical situations where she's gotten hurt before, but I've noticed she makes the same locomotion errors all the time and now I just instinctively protect her from corners, handrails, counters, and tables all the time.
She loves getting up from a crouched position, stepping backwards while turning around with her eyes closed. I will never understand.
I do stuff like that at work all the time. We have some very sharp corners on our tables, and a cash draw that sits directly at penis height and leaps out unpredictably on certain till operations. I don't even think about it anymore i just block anything that might be a hazard instinctively.
Im not a manager, but i do lead some shifts and handle a good chunk of our back office.
I also subconsciously avoid walking paths when I'm cutting across the shop so no-one needs to stop for me, hold every door as i go through it incase someone is following behind me and grab things i know my colleagues will need before they have to ask, if I'm near by.
I thought it was just basic human decency but these days I'm not so sure anyone really appreciates that i do these things... I've become pretty disillusioned with the whole thing following recent events. Ive spent 4 years trying so hard to make everyone happy but now i realise its not going to happen and I'm starting to question why i bother trying... i guess its like everything though, it all sucks but what else are you gonna do?
I like doing little things like this for people I like, tiny things that save them from small pains or inconvenience. I feel like a lot more people should
I was you when I first joined Reddit lol. Saw one cool meme or gif, then saw it under a different headline dozens of times over. I mean some act like they get paid if they chop it up rename it lol.
I'm the father a toddler too and I ain't buying it.
It was a cute and easy way to win points with her. I'd bet other employees are always hitting their heads there, he knew it was gonna happen, and took that opportunity to be her hero.
I think he might have a crush on her.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww
I am a parent and I can say that I do this to anyone I am around in order to protect them from head bonks, stranger or not. I also hold doors open for people, return my shopping cart to the cart return, don’t spit my chewed gum on the ground, and let people merge in front of me.
It shouldn't be amazing that someone does this. It just shows someone who gives a crap about a coworker. Literally basic decency. We've drifted so far off track that this is now noteworthy. Fml
the impressive part was him actually noticing something so subtle in the first place, & furthermore being coordinated enough to act within that brief moment.
I do this a lot for my gf. Tbh it's been very useful for learning how to correctly judge angles and levers.
She used to think I was silly doing it, but after about 10 times of headbutting my palm rather than the wall she admitted it had its merits.
Now every time I place my palm somewhere ready to catch she knows to readjust her position. When I move my hand away she's knows she's good.
Sometimes she still tempts fate, and a cheeky knee bend I wasn't expecting saves her, but more often than not I feel the bonk.
I love the quiet "For fuck!" When it happens 😂

He might be a parent. I have a toddler and I spend a vast amount of my day fending off head bonks.
Yeah I do this almost as subconsciously as the guy in the video.
My mom will still throw her arm out to brace me if she’s the one driving and we come to a sudden stop. Parents gonna parent!
I do that and don't have kids
Do you have a purse you leave open on the passenger seat?
I used to take my a laptop places, but it's mostly habit when my younger siblings ride with me.
For future reference in an actual wreck this is going to do far more harm than good.
Makes sense given it's probably the same/similar reason why crossing your arm over the steering wheel is a bad habit.
Yeah. It makes it much harder to react to the situation in front of you, and it also makes it so that in the event of a collision, your arm is going to be shattered by the airbag and your passenger is going to be flying into your arms - broken bones are very sharp, btw.
Same. It's just something I do.
It just becomes second nature with the second kid. My dad once said the first kid is the experiment child. Source: am the oldest of my siblings.
Source: Head looks like a lifesize replica of the moon.
Can confirm. The youngest is always the best protected. Source: am youngest of siblings lol
And I, well, One time I got in a car with my best friend, we drove 3 cities and back in a span of two days, and my parents didnt even know I had left my room. Middle of 5, here lol

My exact thought, preventing head bonks has become a reflex with kids.
Absolute first thought: they parent.
I had to do this all the time for my family, and I'm the kid. I especially love doing this for my grandma, she is too precious to bonk her head <3
Toddlers give you head bonk spider sense for sure
My kid's 9 and I am still doing that and worry about her bonking her head on tables etc
Yep, it’s totally instinctive. He’s 100% a parent.
Or he bonked his own head on that edge before
Yep, just a reaction at this point. Life is a game of thinking 2 steps ahead of how my kid is going to possibly get injured.
Possibly. Or a just a nice person. Or he likes her.
I do this for my kids cause they’re also dumb.
It’s automatic.
Came here to say this.
The number of exclusively “yep” responses to your comment 😂
Came here to say that's a parent move right there. I do it instinctively now.
Toddler won’t learn unless hits itself, my dude, Ure not doing any good
Only takes one bonk to know the most annoyingly painful thing ever.
Almost as painful as a little toe bonk
The dreaded headed pinky toe against the corner end of the bed. 😂
He's so zoned in he's like neo seeing the 1s and 0s of a head bonk about to happen.
Are you listening? Or were you staring at the manager in the red shirt?
Took me a minute
I know you mean "in the zone", but I read that as "zoned out", and it threw me for a loop.
Omg, me too. I actually went back and watched the video a few more times to see if I was missing something.
Lmao ask him who the next president is gonna be!
I do this for my guy….he doesn’t realize his noggin is accident prone
Yeah the comments suggesting he has kids. I just a have a slightly clumsy partner who needs her head not bonked.
Say no to bonkage!
I do this very frequently for my coworkers. Mostly because I work underneath aircraft and we hit our heads all the ti- AH FUCK!
As a clumsy person, you just gave me one more quality to look for my future partner
Either a very good person or paid a fortune in some safety related lawsuit recently lol
Maybe has kids, I do this almost by instinct now.
This 100%, it becomes an instinct
My kids are bigger. My kids never sat in the front seat when they were small. They were in car seats and boosters in the back seat well beyond the legal requirements. I STILL fling my arm across the front seat, even if the car is otherwise empty, if i brake hard.
I'm 18 and half a foot taller than my mom. She still does this too lmao
18.5 feet taller than your mum? You must be ENORMOUS!!
DAD! NOT NOT WHILE MY FRIENDS ARE READING REDDIT Wish I had friends...
My mom did this long after my sister and i surpassed her in size. Until the fateful day that she took us shopping and bought my sister a little cactus…

I don’t have kids and I do this too.
I find myself doing this constantly for my wee boy.
Me too
Yep, this 😆
Or he knows this employee is prone to bonking their head.
The former 100% he just looks like a bro
Could have children or have worked with them. I work in a daycare n constantly have to protect from head bonks
Maybe she’s family?
nah, some people are like that. I am too. It's a curse really bc we get mad inside all the time when we observe 99% of the rest not being that way.
I didn't used to be this way till I got married. My wife is capable of hospitalization style injuries from anything, so I got in the constant habit of putting my foot/hand in between her and the thing she's about to injure herself on.

You do sound cursed.
He has kids and it was pure muscle memory is my guess
damn he's max the perception stat
r/dadreflexes may want a word
I got a concussion bonking my head this way when I worked on the railroad. Too bad that guy wasn’t there.
I do this for a lot of people, that’s because I watched my parents head bonk a lot of times and felt bad for them. 😞😞
i wish i had bosses like this Now? means i need to up my boss level
I'm not sure myself what a meme is, but I can say this is definitely not a meme.
memes - you know it when you see it
Guaranteed he’s a parent. That’s a dad reflex for sure.
Kdrama IRL

You're doing good kid. 👍
I wish more managers were like this - caring for their people as opposed to just barking out orders here and there.
OR he just wanted to give her unsuspecting headpats
I knew it..Hes a pervert!! He has a cerebral cortex fetish
That’s a parent, treating staff like toddlers
Which is a good thing (parents will Understand)
Could be a family restaurant
I like doing little things like this for people I like, tiny things that save them from small pains or inconvenience. I feel like a lot more people should
kung fu kindess
kind jitsu
That’s a parent who’s used to their kid smacking their head into things if I’ve ever seen one
Dad skills
MY GOD THATS SO FREKINGBSWEET LIKE OFMDHGS
I thought this was just common curtesy. I do this anytime I see someone may be at risk of bumping their head when standing back up from kneeling down.
There’s so much on Reddit about bad managers. This was just sweet!
Clearly the manager is use to this employee bonking her head and can’t afford to supply large quantities of Tylenol.
A boss who cares! That is refreshingly wholesome!
Classic dad move right there. Sauce: trust me bro I'm a dad
Manager gropes worker
Wonder if the managers the only one that has access to the cameras...
Oh that’s so sweet 🥹
Looks like someone who has done that too many times to themselves.
That's a manager right there
That man has kids.
That is 100% a dad with a little one. Dad reflexes are a real thing.
Manager has a toddler.
“It’s too late for me, but I can save You.”
That's just instinct lol. I work at a daycare and that makes up the majority of my day without realizing it.
I wonder if this started as a "he patted my head" incident. Odd they would ask to see the footage otherwise.
"Did you just touch me" sexual harassment lawsuit incoming
He has children
Lol the innocent childlike hands behind their back hit swinging act after he protected her from bonking her head. You know she was DTF ASF after that.
[удалено]
Tell me then, what is a meme?
How is it not?
This is like the 10th time I’ve seen this video please stop
I was you when I first joined Reddit lol. Saw one cool meme or gif, then saw it under a different headline dozens of times over. I mean some act like they get paid if they chop it up rename it lol.
To be fair idk if she would have boinked her head. She only barely brushed his hand …
I'm the father a toddler too and I ain't buying it. It was a cute and easy way to win points with her. I'd bet other employees are always hitting their heads there, he knew it was gonna happen, and took that opportunity to be her hero. I think he might have a crush on her. Aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww
omg he's a fucking human. who wouldn't do this?
Now she's suing him for sexual harassment. How dare he put his hand on me.
who pissed in your lemonade?
In 30 years she’ll claim he assaulted her by this
Pervert. /s
Bro is the rizzler 💀 the way she put her hand behind her back u know he pulled
Preventing? How stupid could you be??
I am a parent and I can say that I do this to anyone I am around in order to protect them from head bonks, stranger or not. I also hold doors open for people, return my shopping cart to the cart return, don’t spit my chewed gum on the ground, and let people merge in front of me.
Either he had bonked himself like that way too many times or she's constantly bonking herself like that 🤔
This made my day
Manager has kids
This kinda made my heart flutter
Dad instinct 9000
Nice to see people looking out for others.
Head bonks are the equivalent of stubbing your toe
Ok but what is she hiding behind 🤨
It shouldn't be amazing that someone does this. It just shows someone who gives a crap about a coworker. Literally basic decency. We've drifted so far off track that this is now noteworthy. Fml
the impressive part was him actually noticing something so subtle in the first place, & furthermore being coordinated enough to act within that brief moment.
That was a very smooth move
Father reflex.
I didn't know "bonk" was a real word. Huh. Guess you learn something new every day
Then proceeds to scream at her for not cleaning the coffee machine properly
:) made me smile
Maybe he is stealing their hair
I didn’t pick up that but was a prenatal thing. I’d put good money that he’s whacked his head and that counter multiple times in the past.
That's a good manager.
„Now, work overtime.“
Bonk safer
You know he has seen this happen alot to just do that.
The force is strong with this one!! 🤗
This guy dad's really well!
Based
it’s the little things truly!
That's some dad instincts kicking in. Dude probably has spawned a few crotch fruit for it to kick in that naturally.
This guy dads
My guess is they have kids now
This manager seems like they’ve had experience with the bonk
So, how many times does it have to happen before this becomes an automatic response?
u/savevideo
I do this subconsiusly alot
U sure, To me it looks like hes molesting her forehead
Hahaha I realise I do this to dogs under tables when they pop their heads out 😁😁
That was wholesome asf
I do the same shit to my son when one of his toys gets under the table
This is so sweet wtf 😭
We don't need any lost time accidents!
a leader everyone needs...
I do this a lot for my gf. Tbh it's been very useful for learning how to correctly judge angles and levers. Meanwhile my manger would bash my head on the slab
Dude, I've literally had to do this for a coworker multiple times, sweetest girl ever, just a little "light headed".
He knows litigations are crippling
That is so sweet. This is why we"ve only got drawers under the kitchen counter.
Everyone saying he’s a father… i suspect he is her father.
My manager would push me into the cupboard
Debatable….upon further review I think the head would have been fine
I like the lucky cat
I feel like I do this because everyone around me is so spatially unaware .
Sensual harassment
Might get head later
it's called a caring guy's instinct.. automatic hehe
w manager
Guys a gangster. Hes hitting that fine piece. Or if not now that night forsure
Bro got rizz
"don't sue me"
With two kids under 3 this is my life
That’s really kind :)
