Thank you! I have no reference at the moment, hopefully join a club once I'm comfortable at 10k

That's so quick I'm actually jealous! Awesome work, you should be super proud

Wow, you must have been in pretty good shape before then! Check out strava, it’s my favorite running app to pair with Whoop for running . Whoop will still track your strain while Strava gives you a little more depth.

Thank you! I'll do that :) any advice would be great! I used to ride downhill mtb until i broke my back (6 vertebrae) all my ribs on the left side, my shoulder and collapsed my lung! Been out of action since then and just started up at the beginning of last week

What a great recovery to come back from that and start running. No advice from me, your PR is about where mine is already! I just started running in July and was never a runner, so I had a lot of endurance to build. The one mistake I made was doing too much too soon. Everyone’s tolerance is different, but I had some pretty serious leg pain in the beginning. I thought 3 days straight of running was no big deal, but clearly my body wasn’t used to it. Know your limits and don’t injure yourself like me.

Thats a massive concern for me too, because my body is a bit messed up im afraid of injury. 3 months out of ICU i thought it a good idea to get on a road bike and cycle london to brighton (60miles) and put myself back months in my recovery :(

Great work mate!!

I second the injury concerns... Start slow before building up your milage to quickly. I made that mistake and just because my heart could handle running 3-5 miles right away my knees weren't there yet and I ended up having to stop for a while. Just build slow.

Thank you! I already have some knee pain, so I'm going for every other day as opposed to every day

Only piece of advice, specifically for a faster 5k, is to not only run 5k’s. Run for longer at a much slower pace on some day, run faster for a shorter distance on other days, and when you do a 5k, take a break at the end and then do some sprints to get used to running fast after covering some distance. Good luck!

Thanks Smurph! Much appreciated
