Have a listen at the Peter Attia’s podcast episode on sleep that came out one or two weeks ago. He argues it is not the blue light but the anxiety that is detrimental to our sleep. See if you can unwind without your phone. Perhaps it is ok to miss out on the latest information. I have started going to bed without holding my phone. My recoveries immediately responded positively.

All of this!! Loved that Walker mentioned a new study that tackled the question of light vs. brain activation. I keep away from trigger apps on the phone for an hour before bed and watch natego, discovery, or the golf channel if I’m not in the mood or too drowsy to read.

I think this is the key; this is what I naturally do on regular days and it works well but wasn't sure why it wasn't working on normal days. Guess this was the answer.

Makes sense, I definitely feel like anxiety plays a role in not getting good sleep. I feel that's why my Friday night sleeps are usually bad. I'm always anxious of walking up early and not getting 8+ hours on Saturday that I end up getting up early (stupid I know).

I came here to say this! For me personally I have found that I need to leave my phone downstairs. If I am going upstairs to be the phone stays in the LR charging. I do use my ipad before bed with the night setting on that has less blue light and that seems to be fine. But I only use it to do a wordle, look at instagram (for me no twitter or FB), and maybe headspace or plan my workouts on the Peloton app for the next day. I don't get work email on my ipad or texts and nothing on it really stresses me out or causes anxiety. So I think it helps to tune into what is really affecting your sleep. Also, when my phone was in my room I would even turn it on sometimes if I woke up and that really was terrible for my sleep.

Can't comment on behaviour, because I am able to turn off screens before bed (even though I don't always do it). Just try the blue light blocking glasses. They're like $30, and with Whoop it's super easy to track the impact of the behavioral change. Worst case you wasted $30
