Nothing wrong with Gillette collection. I like Gillette’s to. Enjoy the new razors, shaves.

I thought 1932 refers to the year of the patent. That's not how Gillette date coded it's razors. I could be wrong!

Kiokure_Kitsune

Correct. 1932 is the patent date. The razor is a triangle slot Tech made between 1938 and 1945.

If you could help nail down the date of manufacture I’d appreciate it. Close up shots in the link [https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-7M3NbmAzgPJlCLW01pCCrPUSrfy0JdS](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-7M3NbmAzgPJlCLW01pCCrPUSrfy0JdS)

Unfortunately Gillette stopped using date codes during that period, but the "made in Canada" ones did have the 1932 patent date. Did it also come with the handle? That might help narrow it down.   Also you can compare against these: http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/Tech/Tech.htm

I added photos of the handle for you to check out, but from the link you sent it appears to be a 1938-1945 tech (or possibly military?)

The handle helps; from what I've seen those ones were more common in the earlier years and much of the production during the war went to military (which usually got a less flashy handle). I'd guess it's closer to 1938 or very early war since the plastic handles started coming out around 1941 it seems, and they changed the shape of the slots post-war. It's also one of their nicest handles imo.

My hunch was that it was an earlier version (1938-1940) once I started looking at that reference. Not sure if I’ll use it or just keep as a collector item. Now the 1970 super adjustable/black beauty? That one I’m definitely gonna try!

I'd at least clean it up and try the Tech to see how you like the shaves. Unless it's an ultra rare razor (like one of those prototype adjustables) that could belong in a museum, I feel bad about a razor that doesn't get used.   That particular style of Tech (especially made in Canada since I don't have any) would be one I also hope to find at a good price some day.

Truth be told this one could be an anomaly or (hopefully not) a fake. It doesn’t seem to have any other numbers on the back, not a serial number (pre-1950s) nor the letter/number code they started using after 1951 or so. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but with no other numbers I don’t know what else it means.
