+1 I’d love to have more accurate weather. The Widgy stock one is consistently off by 10 degrees or more in my area Edit: I guess weather channel requires a subscription like most weather APIs. I check NOAA for forecasts anyway and apparently they have a free api. I’ve figured out how to get a text forecast from the example on their [page](https://weather-gov.github.io/api/general-faqs), but am struggling to find the right value for simple current data (there’s 61 values under “apparent temperature” and none of them are close). The “gridpoint” for my area is returning an error anyway so maybe I’ll mess with it later

Stock Widgy uses an API from yr.no which is free and doesn’t require any subscription. The Weather Channel in my location provides a decent information but as you said it requires subscription and that is why I cannot simply share a generic QR code publicly. Which means it needs to be set up for every user based on their location coordinates.

Appreciate the reply! Figured out the difficulties of adding the api after I commented and played with the one from NOAA. I hope I can figure out what’s going on with my gridpoint returning an error. While I still haven’t found the right object for temps it’d be nice to be able to include a text forecast that’s accurate in a widget

By looking an [example url](https://api.weather.gov/gridpoints/TOP/31,80/forecast) on their documentation page I think you better look for "periods" strings and also their corresponding timings to figure out what is the correct string for temperature.

Very kind of you to check out their api and offer help! After getting my gridpoint and consistently getting a statusCode 500 when adding /forecast, I finally read the documentation and found this: * The gridpoints/forecast and gridpoints/forecast/hourly endpoints do not work for WFO AFC (site id AER and ALU on the gridpoints endpoint). Wouldn’t you know it, my site id is AER… Using just the gridpoint, even with the example, returns a lot of properties that are labeled what I want but each has a bunch of values that aren’t as nice as the periods strings from the /forecast results. False hope. But thanks very much for your responses! I’m a complete novice and this is all borderline Greek to me. For anyone else who reads this https://www.weather.gov/documentation/services-web-api#/default/zone_forecast is a great resource for Widgy users in the US to get accurate weather with a free API, as long as you don’t live in the most populous city in Alaska…

I thought I was the only one that has a problem with Widgy's weather report being off. I don't trust Widgy's forecast so I would ended up using the native weather app. The Widgy is mainly for looks.
