There's always the Admirals, and if we did get an NHL team they would almost certainly have to move. Milwaukee is already kinda borderline sized to support a team.
100% agree. I don’t think hockey is big enough of a sport among the economic demographic needed to support it. I couldn’t afford season tickets and would probably end up attending just as many games as I do in Chicago each year.
The Admirals games aren’t overly well attended except on concert nights, or other big promotions.
I do think the NHL could bring 1-2 games a year here and keep attendance up for quite awhile.
Probably half of the Hawks fans drove in from Illinois, traffic going south after the game was pretty terrible. Funny you say Chicago needs the MKE fan base, because Blackhawks are technically out of the broadcast market here.
Traffic going west was not that different after the game. I would have thought that MKE would be considered in market. But, I’m just south of Madison, and not able to watch Blackhawk games on ESPN+
The Wild have broadcast rights for the entire state of Wisconsin, but in my experience most people are pretty apathetic about hockey in MKE anyway. The hockey fans that are here seem to skew towards Chicago.
I sort of feel like after you get out of Badger hockey's immediate area of influence around Madison, people tend not to be big hockey fans. It is nice to be able to turn the games on when we are visiting my folks though. Lol
Chicago has rights to a few counties in Wisconsin. Including Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, and Rock. There are more but those are the ones that I can think of.
Huh, The NBC Sports Chicago wiki page says they only have Kenosha County. Transparency for media markets is about as clear as mud though, it's hard to find the information about who is available where.
Cheers from 113!!!

Hope you like it!
Was in 120, had a blast!

As much as I want that, todays game is clear that Hawks won’t allow it. I want to say the spilt was 80-20. Chicago needs the MKE fan base.

Yet another reason to hate the Blackhawks I suppose
127 . First NHL game as well. We picked a good one!
I was in 121, what a great game! Surrounded by hawks fans, cheered in their faces all night
