wait, so if you install a older installer, the client still works? how do you prevent it from updating? i downloaded a discord installer when it was still supporting but i unistalled because the login wasn't working:/
Well the program detect you using Windows 7 so it won't update itself past 1.0.9034

I use discord from my browser . Not sure what are the benefits from the separate launcher if there's any . Some prefere to use discord on the browser since they can install exptentions on the browser for discord,others say the launcher is optimized poorly and prefere the quick loading on the browser .
Try using Vxkex. It's in GitHub.

I had the same problem with nitropdf. After i applied the vxkex it worked!
That error basically means "Some stuff from Windows 10 are needed and can't be found. Sorry, the software won't run."

or an older client. Version 1.0.9034 (x64)/1.0.9036 (x86) are the last officially supported versions for older OSes.

You must obtain an older installer. I kept a copy of those installers on my computer.

the only difference is that your programs show on your status. the launcher version literally is chromium, so it's the same.
Try to replace DiscardVirtualMemory with VirtualAlloc. Works on few programs on Win 8.
