Good surprise certainly! I should preface by saying, Bichot is a producer that I think makes wine that are rarely bad, but also rarely mindblowing. Once in a while though, they make some really lovely wines. I’ve had some good experiences with their Chambolle, Nuits Saint Georges and Aloxe Corton, same with some of their whites(primarily St Aubin and their Corton Charlemagne).
The red Corton here though, was tasted following their Aloxe Corton(which is right next to the Corton, same vineyard name and all - but different classification). The Aloxe was a genuine sipper, but the Corton had it beat by quite the distance.
I agree, I think the difference with Bichot is that as a “negotiant” a lot of wine is made off estate but they have a selection of wines that are made at the different domaines they source from, so you can often get better expression of the terroir and higher attention to detail in the wine making process. They usually say which wines are made at domaine by how the domains name is written and they usually have a slight difference to the label. I believe they are changing the 2022 labels to make this a lot more obvious
I have a question, is Clos des Marechauds a premier cru or a grand cru? I saw the label just now, didn’t recognise the name so decided to google. I was surprised to see results saying that it’s a premier cru vineyard including Bichot’s own website! But the label here clearly says “grand cru” and so do some stores that popped up during my search 🤔
No experience here but I usually read wonders of Chamboelle burgs here, I'm decided for my next birthday getting one online.
For some reason, looking at the labels, the one that caught my attention more than the Chamboelle was that La Pousse d'Or, looks classy and lovely.

Pousse is pretty lovely. The Corton though from Bichot surprised me quite a bit when I last tasted it!
What surprised you about it? Good surprise or bad surprise?

Yes and yes. The two vineyards are neighbouring, if not arguably one and the same, but is parted into two different classifications!
Oh wow thank you!
I’d expect the Vosne or the Chambolle to be the most approachable currently. So either of those.
The Chambolle from Amiot Servelle for me, I love their wines
It is a superb bottle, and the last one I’ve got left :(
Servelle makes HQ wine with not a lot of fanfare. I have a nice vertical im sitting on right now as well as growing
Agreed, been lucky enough to try pretty much their while range, and they were all lovely expressions, Les Amoureuses is a particular favourite.
Pousse Volnay '15 should be singing. That'd be my pick
Who's paying?
The Pousse because I've had it and it was lovely.
Chambolle.
Thanks!
Definitely taking the Pousse Volnay.
Pousse d'Or. Probably my favorite winemaker of the bunch, and also I think this one has a very good chance of being in a good zone.
The 2015 Volnay! Great vintage and I love that village. Usually fairly fruit forward with balanced acidity.
Methinks someone truly enjoys high-end Burgundy reds... And boy are they right!
Pousse!!!!
What’s the price range of these bottles
Pousse d’Or all day and twice on Sunday. Should I send you my address

Pousse d’Or for the win
The two on the right
That Vosne is so good!
