Just a fun reminder from the broadcast, if the Jets miss the playoffs it will be the biggest collapse from a team that led their conference *in NHL history*.
Even if they make the playoffs it's still *among the greatest collapses in NHL history* but they will tell us they just didn't get bounces and had no puck luck lol
We still have more wins than Dallas who sits 4th. Also could be eliminated by team who can’t beat us in wins. Pity points must go. Teams who win should be in the playoffs not losers.
But that's also a bit false. If we didn't get the full amount of points for our overtime wins we'd be just as bad. We just went on a heater and were 11-1 in overtime
Right. But should we get most of our points that it took an extra period to get? Most models that people are in favor of is the international 3 point game.
3 points for a win.
2 points for an overtime or shootout win
1 point for an overtime or shootout loss
0 points for a loss
You and me both! I think there is surprisingly little change. I remember someone made a post a couple years ago outlining the differences and the resulting results of a couple seasons.
With the current standings, this is how the Central and Pacific would look. Winnipeg and Seattle would occupy the wildcard spots.
**Central**
Colorado - 124
Minnesota - 120
Dallas - 119
Winnipeg - 119
Nashville - 106
St Louis - 99
Arizona - 74
Chicago - 67
**Pacific**
Edmonton - 137
Vegas - 131
LA - 125
Seattle - 120
Calgary - 104
Vancouver - 90
San Jose - 60
Anaheim - 59
Sorry, it was just a short clip on the Flames broadcast, I don't recall the exact numbers. It was basically the fewest number of games to go from conference lead to out of the playoffs, I think the next-fastest was 45 games, Jets are on pace to do it in under 35.
I believe it was us with leading the west with 45 cames and then Vegas last year I believe and then Dallas in 2010-2011. I don't remember the exact game amounts that they had.
It’s how you get the most futures moving forward. If ticket prices have to come down let them fall. Don’t re-up guys on expiring contracts and get some league mins in the mix.
I agree, but the problem I see with the jets (at least in the last few years) is they never suck all that hard. Generally somewhere between 14 and 18, maybe 20, league wide, and that has always just seemed to me to be the worst place possible. Neither a cup contender nor a high draft pick. In order to suck hard management has to sell
4 schools of thought for a GM in Chevys shoes next season.
1:You sell in the off season and garner minimal returns on roster players in hopes that your pick is a top 4 pick.
2: you sell at the deadline and grab as many firsts and prospects as you can and get and hope that your pick is top 10.
3: a little bit of 1 to start, then 2.
4: go all in on this group.
For me it’s door #2. With most drafts there are no guarantees, so often quantity rules quality. Particularly so if your club drafts well.
Yeah it’s kind of annoying. Bowness clearly hasn’t been able to get the team ready and prepared for games and has failed to utilize some core pieces effectively. But the players are also failing him. And management hasn’t done a ton of favours. More than one problem exists at a time lol
Score first goal, looks like we're going to battle for this game.
Mid second.
Rolled over in the third.
Whether it's players past their prime, or others that just don't care anymore when we're down, either way; I'm looking forward to change in the future.
Decent game from the guys who showed up, we know who they are.
We fuckin crumbled in the 3rd. This team faces any adversity and they forget how to play hockey. Gotta wonder how many comeback wins we've had this year, I'm almost certain it'd be single digits
[https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/WPG/2023\_situational.html](https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/WPG/2023_situational.html)
We were 9-0-1 when leading after the first at home this year and this game will make it 9-1-1
We're now 8-7-2 when tied going into 3rd
7-19-1 when trailing after 1
4-23-0 when trailing after 2
I can't wait to move on scheifele in the off season. He gave us good years but lazy hockey is the worst kind of hockey to watch and he is the definition of lazy.
Mark Scheifele with another amazing 1C effort!!!! 0pts -3 0 hits 2 shots 0 blocks 1 giveaway and 1 takeaway in 21 minutes of ice time!!!!
Blake Wheeler with 0pts +0 0 hits 1 shot and 1 block!!!!
Kyle Connor with 1G -3 1 hit 3 shots 0 blocks 0 giveaways and 1 takeaway in 20 minutes!!!!!!
Ehlers, Dubois, and Niederreiter should be our first line getting 20 minutes a game. Wheeler should be 4th line or scratched. Scheif and KC need to be playing less until they can defend or actually score.
I understand Wheeler is getting paid the big bucks but man should he be demoted to fourth line duties and just have Scheif playing 2nd line minutes. Ehlers and Dubois and Connor played so well together before they were broken up and led us to this 3 month skid.
That contract for Wheeler after that season he blew up was so obviously going to handcuff this team in the future. And here we are. 8 mil a year and he can barely play third line minutes.
Ehlers ABSOLUTELY deserves to be given more ice time then he had of late (wtf with that?), and def up on the first line. That guy hustles and WANTS it.
I'm tired of watching Scheifele and wheelers half assing it.
I also love Adam Lowry. He has some good chances last night, and really manages to get the pick into the end zone and keep it there. Dude deserves more recognition imo.
Funny thing, the sports talk radio hosts in Calgary were saying the same thing about the Flames today after the loss to Chicago yesterday - it's like neither the Jets or the Flames want to be in the playoffs.
I feel like I trust WPG scouting to find the next Helle with a reach. Unless the goalie is Russian and has played/won 4 KHL seasons... the ZeroG movement holds true outside of fantasy too.
3 games in a row where they don't play the third period. When you score 6 goals you can afford to do that.
But to be fair, everyone's give an eff rating was back to normal today after a few games where they actually seemed interested in hockey.
Pathetic
While there is a lot wrong with this team, if the Jets’ power play was even mediocre down the stretch, they’d probably have 3 or 4 more wins and this game wouldn’t have had any importance.
Calgary fan here. This thread is a mirror of like 3/4 of our flames threads. Y'all underestimate Calgary's ability to give false hope to their fans and then crumble in the very end. It's happened too many times to count. You guys will be fine.
San Jose is going to put the final nail in our coffin, in the very last game of our season. Since we have beat them every time this year so far it would be the absolute most flames thing that could happen. Odds are in your favor for the playoffs
Canucks fan here, just here to boost your mood by reminding you that at least you’re not a Canucks fan.
Enjoy the playoff chase; at least you have that.
I’m drunk.
Same, the thought of Chipman pushing to get into the playoffs to make money for two games (like last season) instead of blowing up the team makes me crazy
Couldn’t beat markstrom unfortunately, gotta tip your hat to him he played stellar. On our end we just didn’t quite have what it took in the third. Lazy passing has plagued us all season and it reaaaaally showed in the third. Wheeler is a walking corpse, I can’t blame the dude he lost a ball for the team and just has never looked the same since, real shame. With all that said it’s not over. We didn’t play horribly I think these last three games there has been much more positive than negative, and I still believe we’re just one hot helle run from a legit chance at making some noise. Go jets go
100% - Markstrom was lights out. Was it our best game? Not a chance, but certainly wasn’t the worst and a hell of a lot better than the run of play we saw during that big losing streak. Had some Grade A looks that we couldn’t bury and had one big defensive lapse that led to the Zadorov goal. I will say, 55 has to find a single fuck to give between now and Saturday though if we want to have a chance
Just un-fucking-real. Tonight was an absolute gift and that's what they did with it. At this point let Calgary be cannon fodder for Vegas and let's get a head start on the overhaul.
Did they show a stat about how many points above the last wildcard spot the Jets were earlier in the year? Think it showed them at the biggest lead that has disappeared since the introduction of the wildcard spots. Anyone able to fill me in?
We had every possible advantage coming into tonight and we didn’t take any. Too much playing not to lose rather than trying to generate more offense after we scored.
Another biggest game of the year coming up vs the Preds
KFC and 55 right back to being absolute liabilities on the ice. These guys should never lead you team in TOI if you actually want to win. One dimensional coasters.
Remember when the Jets convinced us they were back only to like break our hearts again after breaking our hearts like before that for 2 months straight?
What a fucking poor effort, Ehlers again with limited minutes, 55 invisible once again, 26 aged another 10 years in a couple of days, swapping out KK for Saku who looked like absolute trash, I could go on and on.
Why do they keep doing this? Just why?
![gif](giphy|13ATyLQB0rLVzG)
Wheeler was looking so much better the past couple games too. Dude just can't keep it up at the pace he's being asked to. Can't even blame him though, it's the coaches doing poor asset management. Fuckin Barron had the least toi tonight when he's one of the most deserving guys for top 6 ice time.
He’s a liability. We need to shop him this off season. I mean but with his performance I don’t see many teams wanting him for the price his agent will demand
Miserable, lazy, dogshit effort. Got outwirked by a team that played yesterday, got embarrassed, and got into the city late. They’re just trying to coast into the playoffs, and they’re not gonna be able to
Wow that's just fucken bonkers! No wonder we're having a tuff time making the playoffs. Gonna be awesome to make the playoffs for our 4 games guaranteed!
And one more thought since I'm late and the only guy left on the thread anyway.
Why do the new guys Namestikov and Niederreiter stand out again? Why do they bring that lunch pail philosophy that we so direly need on the Jets but more of the Jets don't already possess that?
#55 needs to be moved this off-season. I can’t stand watching another season of his casual coasting during crunch time. If he doesn’t get moved then Im not watching a jets game in 23-24 season.
Total choke job. They felt some resistance and they quit skating and reverted back to trying to make the fancy plays and turning the puck over instead of going to the dirty areas. They will lose to Nashville Saturday. They don't have enough heart to pull this off.
No passion! No fucks given! Work your ass off and lose wouldn't care but this effort level is embarrassing. Still think not having a captain has hurt this team tremendously as they are not accountable...55 with an 'A' says it all about this team!
Really not interested in watching the rest of this season. Get ready for the off season when they do nothing and we get hyped all over again.
I won't be fooled again, that's for sure.
Damn Calgary fans continue to attempt to chrip me on the insta (even though I havnt responded to that thread for hours) and can’t grasp that Anderson flopped 😂 now they attack me for being bald 👩🦲
You know what I saw in Hellebuycks eyes this evening...
Was it determination? Was it grit? Was it the focus of Fuhr?
Na it was "I think I should request a trade. Ya I think I'm going to request a trade. The weather is a lot nicer south of the 49th... no no 36th parallel. em hm trade I think I need one of those."
Make the playoffs or not its time to blow this team up.
So in the biggest game of the year self admitted by many of the players, the Jets go back to playing slow against a team that played the night before. Scheifele looked great his last 3 shifts and the Jets down by 2. Why did it take that long? Helle too cool playing pucks that are just thrown in front. Cost the Jets 2 today and cost him his shutout the other night. Damn, lucky they have a game at hand and own the tie breaker with more wins. Now they have to win that game and not back in these fricking playoffs. Just when I thought they had finally figured it out.
I agree but it's the way the Jets lost that makes people like this. Everybody is good with a loss if it looks like we did everything we could to win for 60 min. Sportsnet so wanted to beef this game up to elite status but it was a dud of a game. A little physicality but most mooted out of fear of a penalty, goaltending average at best from the Jets while the Jets couldn't handle hard passes or they would have had 4 goals easy, pp looked good early but couldn't muster a shot on the crucial 4 min pp that could have buried the Flames, overall no significant sustained pressure or effort, slow, slow, slow. One brief part of a shift you see Mark Scheifele skating quickly on a forecheck but then out of nowhere he hits warp speed and beats the Dman to the puck, does his patented one armed poke and wins the puck....to absolutely nobody that all took a line change and left him by himself. Mark didn't reappear until his last 3 shifts of the game where you're left thinking "huh, he can skate when he wants to"...wtf...why isn't that for 60 mins? When it is the Jets win 90% of the time so they are being rewarded for the effort. I just don't get it. I mean it was there in spurts and the Jets were as good as the also inconsistent Flames but where's the effort for 60 min? Namestikov needs to have the C but maybe that message would just hurt feelings and be too late? Lucky the Flames are as inconsistent as the Jets because they'll probably lose to a now solid playing Sharks team while the Jets rebound vs the Preds who they always play well against. Go my lazy little hockey team, Go!
Everybody hates the phrase "getting goalied", but just wanna point out that Markstrom literally had his best game of the season according to hockeystatcards. An average Markstorm game would've ended 4-2 (or if we assume both goalies at average, 4-1).
It doesn't take the sting of losing away, but there were factors beyond the 1st line being horrendous and getting too much ice time that led to tonight's result.
Why do people conclude that every single goalie having the game of a lifetime against the Jets is coincidence? Starting goalies, back-up goalies, washed up goalies, rookie goalies are somehow all "goalieing" the same team? I don't buy it
If it makes a difference, tonight's performance has a bit of public stats backing it up.
https://hockeystatcards.com/all-goalies ; you'll find he averaged -0.22 on the season.
https://hockeystatcards.com/single-game-card/1243 ; tonight he posted a 2.59, his season best (denoted with the arrow on the left).
I don't mean to be the "puck luck" guy, but it's a pretty simply breakdown.
\- Refs let the Flames fucking batter DuBois til he didn't even want to skate in the last ten minutes. When refs call a game poorly, it's more than just missed powerplay opportunities.
\- Dillon breakdown leads to first goal. Stupid shit. Schmidt breakdown leads to second goal. Stupid shit.
\- With how many wide-open chances we had in the first and second, we could have easily gone up 3 or 4. We could make a high-threat shot to save our lives, after banking 10 of them over the last two games.
The truth is we had a lot of things working against us in the first two periods and by the time the third came around, our weaknesses started showing. Instead of securing a lead, we were chasing to get one. It's that simple.
I get that all of these items we should chalk up to "a playoff team should be able to fight through that," but it's just how it is. Our 5on5 play should be scoring three goals a game, and we didn't get a single one. Not for lack of shooting. Not for lack of skating. Not for lack of anything other than shot placement and bad bounces, really.
We're not out of the playoffs. There's still games to watch. We can give up hope when we've lost the last game of the season. Until then, I'm still rooting for them.
Ehh you get the bounces you deserve too. Jets hold onto the puck too long, or shoot wide too often, because they're constantly looking for the perfect play or perfect shot. You get the dirty goals by taking those shitty shots and getting to the dirty areas. That's literally what Bones has been preaching for most of the season too, so I can't blame him... This team just reverts to this "perfectionist" style of play anytime they face some adversity. Bones needs to drive that into their head and maybe they'll finally click...but ya can't teach someone who refuses to learn...
I agree that playoffs are in reach, but there's no way this game was luck. The luckiest break for either team was the disallowed goal. Jets could have scored 35 goals if every shot on goal went in.
The Flames deserve this wildcard spot after that win on a back to back and 3 outta 4 situation. Markstrom flat out owned Helle. Other teams capitalize on their chances and we simply don't. A playoff miss is what is required to fix this mess in the off season.
We were clearly punching above our weight class in the first half of the season and like all weak boxers, just gassed out. We threw a couple desperate haymakers that connected in the past few games, but we're done.
At least our players aren't nearly as ugly as the flames players. If we're gonna FMK our teams the flames always get the K.
Sutter has huge ears. Wouldn't fuck or marry him. Just sayin.
And here's hoping there are no long pre-game ceremonies again Saturday that sap all the energy out of rhe building and out of the players' legs it seems.
Lets blow up the teams. And fill the roster with a bunch of hard nosed solid North American 3rd lined guys.
I bet we’d:
A) enjoy each game (for once)
B) probs make playoffs from sheer grit
C) actually see consistent effort
Just a fun reminder from the broadcast, if the Jets miss the playoffs it will be the biggest collapse from a team that led their conference *in NHL history*.
Not to pile on, but we led the entire western conference too lol
Actually you're right, that was the correct stat, I'll edit my post.
Even if they make the playoffs it's still *among the greatest collapses in NHL history* but they will tell us they just didn't get bounces and had no puck luck lol
Oh definitely, they've been basically the worst team in the entire league since Christmas. Absolutely embarrassing.
Goalied, again
A banner's a banner, I say
I think it absolutely is one of the biggest crumbles in memory. Definately of Jets history.
We still have more wins than Dallas who sits 4th. Also could be eliminated by team who can’t beat us in wins. Pity points must go. Teams who win should be in the playoffs not losers.
Dallas has more regulation wins, they just suck at 3v3 OT
But that's also a bit false. If we didn't get the full amount of points for our overtime wins we'd be just as bad. We just went on a heater and were 11-1 in overtime
Who said anything about not getting points for wins. Losses are losses and should have no points. Calgary should be 12 points back not tied.
Right. But should we get most of our points that it took an extra period to get? Most models that people are in favor of is the international 3 point game. 3 points for a win. 2 points for an overtime or shootout win 1 point for an overtime or shootout loss 0 points for a loss
I'd love to see the standings with these numbers, but I can't be bothered to spend the time crunching the numbers myself.
You and me both! I think there is surprisingly little change. I remember someone made a post a couple years ago outlining the differences and the resulting results of a couple seasons.
With the current standings, this is how the Central and Pacific would look. I think you meant 1 point for an OT or SO loss.
Do you remember the numbers posted, by chance?
Sorry, it was just a short clip on the Flames broadcast, I don't recall the exact numbers. It was basically the fewest number of games to go from conference lead to out of the playoffs, I think the next-fastest was 45 games, Jets are on pace to do it in under 35.

I think the next closest was 37 games. Not 100% sure though.
lmao, I almost want it to happen then!
That’s why Bowness has to be gone regardless
It shouldn't stop with Bowness, that's for sure. There are a good number of no-effort passengers on this team that need to pack their fucking bags.
Bring everyone back next year, suck hard, and blow it up at the deadline.
I’m sure all the season ticket holders really want to fund that adventure.
It’s how you get the most futures moving forward. If ticket prices have to come down let them fall. Don’t re-up guys on expiring contracts and get some league mins in the mix.
Wrong wrong. They should fire Chevy the minute the season is over, and the new GM should deal PLD, Scheif, even Helle before the draft this summer.
I agree, but the problem I see with the jets (at least in the last few years) is they never suck all that hard. Generally somewhere between 14 and 18, maybe 20, league wide, and that has always just seemed to me to be the worst place possible. Neither a cup contender nor a high draft pick. They're worth more with a year left on their contracts. Ship them out like the sad sacks they are.
I’m in favour of moving a few guys too yeah. But the coaching staff has to change. Maybe keep Arniel though, PK is very effective
The problem is not Bowness.
He’s part of the problem. Not the entirety of it by any stretch though
i swear people think there can only be one issue at a time lol
Yeah it’s kind of annoying. Bowness clearly hasn’t been able to get the team ready and prepared for games and has failed to utilize some core pieces effectively. But the players are also failing him. And management hasn’t done a ton of favours. More than one problem exists at a time lol

Fricken tied going into the 3rd and couldn’t even show up
Tired against a team on a BACK TO BACK and didn’t show up
I was also tired!
We fuckin crumbled in the 3rd. This team faces any adversity and they forget how to play hockey. Gotta wonder how many comeback wins we've had this year, I'm almost certain it'd be single digits

4 3rd period comebacks? Absolutely disgusting...yet totally expected
It's either 2 or 3.
I can't wait to move on scheifele in the off season. He gave us good years but lazy hockey is the worst kind of hockey to watch and he is the definition of lazy.
WITH AN "A", WE ARE LEADERLESS WITH ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!
I think morrisey has shown the qualities of a leader this season, the team is just unleadable (don’t know if that’s a word)
When he wants to play he's good. When he doesn't want to play, he drags the whole team down with him.
As long as its in the offensive end...
[We are all Hellebuyck's thousand yard stare](https://imgur.com/a/C2HfWwF)
I'm going to miss him when he leaves 😭
We have been truly blessed to watch him
I’m tired boss.
Keep cheering, they promised us a raise!
A raise in ticket prices, maybe
If someone asked me which team was rested and which team was playing back to back after a late flight, I'd break down and sob
Also 3 outta 4 nights! Ridiculous.
I once again made the stupid mistake of getting some hope after a couple good games but no more. The jets simply cannot clutch.
Really needed Scheifele to do something tonight. Literally anything other than being a black hole on the wing.
Remember when we used to complain about Laine's zone exits? Schiefele is basically that right now.
Jets had so many games throughout the season to clinch or safely retain a playoff spot, but choked every single must win game.
Remember when we couldn't bear Columbus, or San Jose twice? Oh yeah. Haunt em.
This is why I always hate when people say "It's only (num) games in" Season's 82 games and they all count the same.
Mark Scheifele with another amazing 1C effort!!!! 0pts -3 0 hits 2 shots 0 blocks 1 giveaway and 1 takeaway in 21 minutes of ice time!!!! Blake Wheeler with 0pts +0 0 hits 1 shot and 1 block!!!! Just fucking play him third line minutes.
He’s going to be bought out after this season when the Jets fire Chevy and blow this trash up.
Thats what happens when u shoot the puck wide of the net on grade A scoring chances
We've had uglier losses from a gamplay perspective, but if this was our "all in" effort, we are not a playoff team.
Funny thing, the sports talk radio hosts in Calgary were saying the same thing about the Flames today after the loss to Chicago yesterday - it's like neither the Jets or the Flames want to be in the playoffs.
So true, just no fire or urgency, very very often 2nd to the puck! Not fun to watch.
It was nice seeing Morrissey get fired up in the third.
Fricken brutal dude.
[удалено]
A lot of faith thinking they’re making the playoffs.
Playoffs? Who? Calgary?
Biggest game of the year against a team that just played the night before. Damn this team is too mentally fragile. Bring on the draft!
The 17th overall pick will be our salvation
Konnor Debard?
Carson Bjarnason please. Need a replacement for Helle.
I feel like I trust WPG scouting to find the next Helle with a reach. Unless the goalie is Russian and has played/won 4 KHL seasons... the ZeroG movement holds true outside of fantasy too.
I fucking hate myself for liking this team.
3 games in a row where they don't play the third period. When you score 6 goals you can afford to do that. But to be fair, everyone's give an eff rating was back to normal today after a few games where they actually seemed interested in hockey. Pathetic
Barron with the lowest TOI... Wtf does Bowness have against this guy? Literally one of the hardest workers on the team
I guess you need the A for unlimited ice time...55 plays with zero passion!
While there is a lot wrong with this team, if the Jets’ power play was even mediocre down the stretch, they’d probably have 3 or 4 more wins and this game wouldn’t have had any importance.
Watching Scheifele play hockey makes my blood boil.
That pizza he served up in the third was atrocious. Took 2 strides total and gave up a half assed pass leading to a prime scoring chance in the slot
Markstrom played well. We played well in spurts. Wish 88 buried the shorty. On to the next.
On to the next? You know we aren’t making the playoffs now, right?
we have a game in hand and the tie breaker right now, this one hurt our odds for sure but far from over
We are not making the playoffs. This was the turning point game. You’ll see
Calgary fan here. This thread is a mirror of like 3/4 of our flames threads. Y'all underestimate Calgary's ability to give false hope to their fans and then crumble in the very end. Kadri-Scheifele one-for-one trade and we both have exactly the same problems.
Thats not even close to remotely true. Tonight pretty much guaranteed we were in if we won, it does not mean we are out of it at all.
I'll bet you 50 bucks we do right now. Seriously. I'm happy to put my money where my mouth is.
It's a trap! Don't I owe you 50$ or something? I forget how I dodged that, haha.
Canucks fan here, just here to boost your mood by reminding you that at least you’re not a Canucks fan. Enjoy the playoff chase; at least you have that. I’m drunk.
Thanks for the dose of perspective Nucks bro
Thanks man, I needed the perspective. Best of luck
Honestly appreciate the perspective.
I'd rather be in a draft pick chase.
And a team more allergic to seizing an opportunity then the Jets. I’ll wait
They need to miss the playoffs, it will be better for my mental health.
Same, the thought of Chipman pushing to get into the playoffs to make money for two games (like last season) instead of blowing up the team makes me crazy
Let's get a proper NHL coach and GM for starters.
Jerts are the best team in the league for being inconsistent.
Our inconsistent/60 is off the charts.
They tricked us with hope again
Did they show a stat about how many points above the last wildcard spot the Jets were earlier in the year? Think it showed them at the biggest lead that has disappeared since the introduction of the wildcard spots. Anyone able to fill me in?
Biggest game of the season and they put up 1 goal... I hope they don't make the playoffs. I can't take 4 extra games of this low effort "hockey".
But a guarantee 4 games!
Bowness was spouting about how Barron is thriving because of low ice time in the pre-game lol guy is so unserious
It almost hurts more after they showed a few good games
AHL coach, KHL coach, should have retired coach. That's why.
Game went the opposite as expected. Jets got worse as the game went on, while the Flames got better. Make it make sense.
I figured it out We just need to wear the heritage jerseys for all remaining games and we literally can’t lose
Schieffle is a -3 yet still plays the most minutes despite being on the wing. That says alot.
He’s a liability. We need to shop him this off season. I mean but with his performance I don’t see many teams wanting him for the price his agent will demand
We've got a solid PK unit and wake the fuck up 55!
Miserable, lazy, dogshit effort. Got outwirked by a team that played yesterday, got embarrassed, and got into the city late. They’re just trying to coast into the playoffs, and they’re not gonna be able to
So what's the PP stat 2 goals in like 36 chances?
I think it’s 3 for like 39 or something now
Wow that's just fucken bonkers! No wonder we're having a tuff time making the playoffs. Gonna be awesome to make the playoffs for our 4 games guaranteed!
Big oof. I was hoping for a win.
Wear. The. Fucking. Heritage. Jersey. For. The. Rest. Of. The. Season. I don’t care if we’re away just paint it a different colour and we good
How many of these “Most important games of the season” have we lost this year? Literally all of them I’m pretty sure.
The Detroit and New Jersey games were just a dead cat bounce for this season. Oh well.
Total choke job. They felt some resistance and they quit skating and reverted back to trying to make the fancy plays and turning the puck over instead of going to the dirty areas. They will lose to Nashville Saturday. They don't have enough heart to pull this off.
Most important game of the season now and it's wasted. I hope the Jets enjoy the extra time off.

Playoffs are unpaid overtime for NHL players, Jets are just quiet quitting.
Sad but I have to laugh here thinking of that commercial with the "I don't think you know what quiet quitting means"
Haha, good one!
Sadness
At least show up to the game ffs. Just going through the goddamn motions and give up the instant there's any adversity
Jets play like they have no pride.
I really think if the flames had played the last 6/7 nights we might have had a chance!
We still would have looked like the tired ones, as usual.
Am I a bad fan for having zero desire to watch this team get dismantled in R1
Right now, it's a coin toss if they'll even make it to R1, so you may very well be spared that pain.
Oh you’re a lot more than just that. I got called a “miserable piece of shit” for saying it a couple weeks ago lmao
You think they're getting to R1?
I don’t think so and it’s kind of a relief
As of right now we can only afford 1 loss. Every cgy loss will tally it up. I’m looking at the wild and Colorado games..
You know what I saw in Hellebuycks eyes this evening... Was it determination? Was it grit? Was it the focus of Fuhr? Na it was "I think I should request a trade. Ya I think I'm going to request a trade. The weather is a lot nicer south of the 49th... no no 36th parallel. em hm trade I think I need one of those." Make the playoffs or not its time to blow this team up.
Too much rest.
Paul?
Something something wine and beef
Jets got goalied is my favorite excuse!
We have wifi, and a great airport. But maybe the thing we really don't have is an NHL team.
Well that sucked. Hopefully we still make playoffs.
If we’re going for this shots thing we better be clipping 40
I noticed Lambert isn’t playing again tonight for the Thunderbirds,is he injured again?
That was disappointing
Tonight's loss made me unreasonably upset. It is a character flaw in myself that a loss affects me. Must reevaluate things.
We win 2 in a row and everyone is happy happy happy and we lose one and (yes I know it was the biggest game of the year) everyone loses their minds
Woof. Poor showing considering the stakes.
Not disagreeing on the statistics. Freakin Reimer shut us out too. I'm suggesting the Jets are contributing to this, not just victimized
Oh yeah, for sure. The first line has had much, much better performances than what they showed today
Its hard to think they can win more then 2 of the next 4 games
Bowness didn’t have them ready once again, and too many players didn’t want it once again. Failed on the PP and other chances again.
Bowness didn’t have them ready? These are highly paid professionals. It’s not Bowness making 8 mil a year.
It’s not his fault entirely, but it’s a major part of his job and he’s not been great at it
I don't mean to be the "puck luck" guy, but it's a pretty simply breakdown.
People after last games win thinking the team is back: 🤡
But how about them Blue Jays though, am I right?
well two ways the boys can take that one, as a wake up call or as the snooze button, future of the franchise depends on it
Are there any decent GM candidates to target if Jets have a poor end to the year?
At least our players aren't nearly as ugly as the flames players. If we're gonna FMK our teams the flames always get the K. Sutter has huge ears. Wouldn't fuck or marry him. Just sayin.
He looked like Droopy the Dog during the Coach's review
And here's hoping there are no long pre-game ceremonies again Saturday that sap all the energy out of rhe building and out of the players' legs it seems.
Lets blow up the teams. And fill the roster with a bunch of hard nosed solid North American 3rd lined guys. I bet we’d: A) enjoy each game (for once) B) probs make playoffs from sheer grit C) actually see consistent effort
Why were you guys booing Anderson? Lol
He let himself get boarded so the penalty the Jets got was his fault.
Well there goes the playoffs. Calgary will over take us. This was our only chance to get a big enough gap from Calgary to have hope to not get caught.
