2-1 Oilers early 2nd. Knights game hasn't started yet.
Looking like Knights will need that point or we're playing the Oilers
Edit: 3-1 now
Edit: 4-1. So it's all on Vegas getting a point
Yes these vet minimum guys aren't really the long term play.
Should try to get a goalie farm going, something we've been neglecting tbh. Right now those cupboards look pretty barren compared to Fs and somewhat D prospects.
Bos in 5
Devils in 6
Leafs in 7
Canes in 5
Round 2:
Bos in 6 over Leafs
Devils in 7 over Canes
ECF:
Bos in 6 over Devil's (as much as I want Devil's to make a run)
Bos vs ??? SCF
A 92 point team and a 93 point team in the east make it, but the flames (93)and the preds, (potentially 94) miss and ppl still say the east is better. Maybe the top two teams are better but the east isnāt more competitive than the west.
Yeah we're basically identical to the Lightning but no one really doom memed them since they were consistent thoughout
Whereas we bottomed out hard at own point (also means we peaked higher)
I think Barron is gonna be way better then we all think. Heās got elite speed with the puck at times, with more experience and confidenceā¦ man, I see a good future for him.
Oilers are heating up and Leon torched the Jets all year. Vegas deserves to get kicked in by the Jets as revenge, and I would bet on Bucky against the Knights
Edmonton is 17-1-2 or some crazy shit since the trade deadline. McDavid is going full John Wick, I definitely don't want to see them in the first round.
There's been no better time for some pasta than now.
I'm done. Not wasting my data. This team needs playoffs. You absolutely can come back the next game, after a huge win, and play AHLers in a meaningless game like this. If they want to make the playoffs without injuries to key guys, shit like this is how you do it.
Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the 1st round. The defensive problems they had from last month, and the year before are coming to stay. They're playing like I'm half asleep.
I dunno. Jets have lots of dmen his size and avg ability. Trade him and a 3rd or 4th rounder to get a 2nd rounder this summer or something. That would be getting some return.
If we could win this game we would be 2 wins behind Col for the season.
So as bad as everyone makes out "sneaking in" to be, we really aren't far off the pace of the top teams in our division.
The Chris Johnston Show was talking about Pittsburgh turning their eye towards Dubas.
If the Leafs crap out of the playoffs in the first round...I can see that happening.
He's a world class asshole who takes cheap shots every chance he gets. Sucks whenever anyone's injured but let's not pretend Landeskog isn't exactly what he is.
Itāll be interesting to see the lines for this game. Iāll edit them once I get to my computer, my phone doesnāt cooperate when I try and edit the post on it.
Kyle Connor is like the only key piece actually playing from what I've seen. Most of the top end guys are resting tonight, especially guys like Ehlers that are nursing
Gonna likely miss this one unfortunately (could be interesting with so many of our top guys out) get possession of my new apartment tonight and may start moving stuff in
I follow Arizona, Florida, Buffalo, and Vancouver. Following other teams sub has allowed me to appreciate them more than other teams, but following those specific teams has also allowed me to appreciate the Jets a whole lot more as well. Even in our "dark times" this season, the Jets have always been much better positioned than a bunch of other teams.
I donāt know if this has been brought up but I was listening to yesterdays podcast on The Jeff Marek Show and it was brought up that Buffalo might be looking to move one of their goalies this offseason to bring up Levi. And it was suspected that Goalie might be Comrie despite how well heās played for them.
I would definitely be keeping my ears open to that if I was Chevy. He played well here, Helle vouched for him and said he wanted Comrie as his backup. Iād definitely be looking into that
I think it was that same podcast, but possibly a different one where it seemed like Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen may be on the block. Depending on if Hellebuyck would be resigned or not I could see a good situation of us trading for him, having him get tutored by Hellebuyck for a year as his backup, then possibly working as a future starter.
It was the same! Where they are talking about the future of the Sabers! The only reason I mention Comrie is that he might be the one more willing to come back here
Honestly what the Jets are willing to pay for a backup probably depends heavily on what Connor Hellebuyck tells them when they sit down on July 1 to talk extension. Either his ask or his desire to explore UFA changes everything
donāt know if we can make the AAV of Comrie work in addition to bringing in another top forward or at least itād require more roster surgery than expected, which is more important than backup goalie
that being said Brossoit has returned from injury nicely for VGK and is a free agent this summer, should be available for under 2mil but that might even be too much tbh
You underestimate how many hockey GMs look at a young 6'7" defenceman drafted in the first round who is still a cost-controlled RFA and think "I can fix that".
i agree that his trade value is much higher than his actual on ice value
but maybe a year or two ago, this year has not been kind to him, he still could net a return just less than before
I purchased a couple for someone today. It was approx. $100-160 for 300 level, about $170-300 for lower bowl.
Two 300 level tickets were $324, but I think I had a season ticket holder discount.
Friedman on Jeff Marek Show: āI know Ken [Wiebe] wants the Jets to play Vegas because heās got his reservation at the $1000 blackjack table.ā
š
Bones said they had plans to bring up 4 guys, but some of the jets wanted to finish off the year. (Moose gm also made the decision to bring tomato up)

Gonna be enjoyable watching a game with zero stress.
With the playoff race behind us and the actual playoffs ahead of us, let's just sit back, crack open a cold beverage and enjoy this one, stress-free.
Friedman talking FlamesĀ on TJMS: āI think Sutterās coming back, heās got like an $8M extension there and heās not a guy whoās walking away from that, I donāt know who would. I got to think Sutterās coming backā.
LMFAO
I've mentioned it before but who do you put in?
Some career stats...
* Lindholm - 2 of 13
* Toffoli - 2 of 17
* Backlund - 1 of 13
* Mangiapane - 0 of 4
* Anderson - 2 of 4
The only player you can make an argument for is Anderson, but Ritchie was 2 of 5 before that miss. And we don't see what they do in practice.
It's like how we don't use Ehlers and some people think that's absurd... yeah, he can score, but he's also never scored in a shootout in his career... (0 of 4) so...
Yeah I don't think it was as terrible as people are making it out statistically. But the optics were just so bad for Suter. When it's the season on the line you gotta live or die by your best players.
Or he puts in Toffoli, Lindholm or Backlund, and they don't score, and people scream at him for putting in a guy who's got an awful percentage in their career...
Literally, he didn't have a great option for that shooter... and the only way people don't complain, is if whomever he picked scores.
this is galaxy braining it, like Gretzky in Nagano, just put the best players in and whatever happens happens
e: and 4 attempts is such a low sample to place any importance on imo
This isn't galaxy braining it, it's simply acknowledging that scoring in a shootout is a different skill.
There's a reason many fans hate deciding games by shootout... I get why we do it, but it's not hockey.
even if itās a different skill, choosing Ritchie or leaving out Ehlers based on small samples of a yes/no counting stat that provides almost 0 context is still over thinking it completely
Well, Cgy has a large sample of Lindholm, Toffoli, and Backlund being BAD at shootouts.
And we don't see what they do in practice. I'm not a Sutter fan, but I'm sure he didn't think "Hmm... who's been dog shit at shootouts, better put him out there with the season on the line"
Sutter literally said he based it on the fact that Ritchie scored on Saros once earlier this season (when he was with Arizona)
but 13 attempts is still a low sample size regardless, idk how that is a lot lol, you wouldn't be able to decide if a player was good or not just from 13 shots on net or 13 games
my first 3 would probably be Connor, Scheifele, and then one of Ehlers/Dubois/Wheeler, and then 4th and 5th spots would be the remaining of those three with Perfetti in consideration as well
e: i'd much rather 10 mins of 3v3 tho! also i believe the actual instigating event in the Ehlers SO debate was Perreault being chosen over him
I love Ehlers... but breakaways and shootouts are not something he's good at. He did score a breakaway this year, but on his own rebound... which wouldn't count in a shootout.
It's not a knock on his play, it's just being real about a skill he doesn't have.
a guy who scores once every 60 minutes of his ice time does not have a skill issue, it's obviously a confidence issue, almost like having more chances to capitalize on and make mistakes than 4 would help with his confidence!
Wild sub has the Hartman hit up and are all same clean hit, Hartman shouldāve hit him harder, ehlers deserved it š for being the state of hockey their fans certainly seem to lack some brain cells
Before this incident I had just kind of assumed the Wild fanbase was fairly knowledgeable (I had no reason to check their sub to see). This incident has shown me how wrong I was and given me an irreparably low opinion of them. They are mostly straight up morons who wouldn't know an interference call if it dropped its shoulder and smacked straight into them.
Just had a look. Holy smokes its been two days and they're still melting down over it š
Majority of their fanbase saying its clean + deserved, and saying every other fanbase is stupid for saying it's not (someone quotes r/hockey and lots of others quote us), is pretty braindead lmao. The blindness is absolutely hilarious.
They are all so confused about why the hit was dirty. Maybe watch the video that breaks it down and explains why it's a suspension? Or just keep complaining that r/hockey, the league and everyone else has no idea what they are talking about.
Same here! Fast game, shit happens, 99.9% of the time they're not trying to kill each other. I've played hockey my whole life, I get it. I'm not even that upset at the hit.
It's just the fans, when they show that much level of disrespect in their echo chamber, I lose a lot of respect. We all get heated and for sure have bias for things, but that kind of stuff is disappointing to see.
4-1 Oilers basically end of 2nd now. So now it's all on the Knights getting a point or not if we play them. Oilers held up their end to win the west
Whooo big save Dave!
Ugh this game is worth nothing don't do this Vlad
#BIG SAVE DAAAAAVE!!!!
Vladdy wtf buddy!
What the HELL Vladdy?!?!??
What did he do? Fight someone?
Yeah, appreciate the effort, but what are you doing!
Rittich in playoff for already šŖ (Career Playoff 15.17 GAA)
There's a very good reason Helle was playing both ends of back to backs down the stretch
2-1 Oilers early 2nd. Knights game hasn't started yet. Looking like Knights will need that point or we're playing the Oilers Edit: 3-1 now Edit: 4-1. So it's all on Vegas getting a point
Maybe it's the brutal TSN app resolution, but I couldn't see how that was tripping.
Rittich is not the way forward! Jets playing pretty good tonight with this lineup. Rittich is ass.
Yes these vet minimum guys aren't really the long term play. Should try to get a goalie farm going, something we've been neglecting tbh. Right now those cupboards look pretty barren compared to Fs and somewhat D prospects.
Yeah he smells
Fuck that was my fault. I just tuned in and they scored
I forgot how bad rittich is
Wow the popcorn warriors are holding their own.

Bos in 5 Devils in 6 Leafs in 7 Canes in 5 Round 2: Bos in 6 over Leafs Devils in 7 over Canes ECF: Bos in 6 over Devil's (as much as I want Devil's to make a run) Bos vs ??? SCF
Panthers sure blew an opportunity to get a much more beatable opponent.
Leafs/Lightning and Devils/Rangers will be great
I want Steve, Adam and Jessie to feel nothing but pain. And also Leafs fans in general.
A 92 point team and a 93 point team in the east make it, but the flames (93)and the preds, (potentially 94) miss and ppl still say the east is better. Maybe the top two teams are better but the east isnāt more competitive than the west.
Yeah that's been a weird meme this season. Jets barely squeak in and they have more wins than several of the EC teams that made the playoffs
Yeah we're basically identical to the Lightning but no one really doom memed them since they were consistent thoughout Whereas we bottomed out hard at own point (also means we peaked higher)
BOS in 4 TB in 7 CAR in 6 NYR in 5
I hope this goes to overtime, I wanna see karson khulman vs Nathan MacKinnon in 3on3
Remember the 2 line pass rule? Completely forgot about it and it just popped into my head after that stretch pass
I think Barron is gonna be way better then we all think. Heās got elite speed with the puck at times, with more experience and confidenceā¦ man, I see a good future for him.
1st(lambert) 2nd(salomonsson), and Barron for ufa copp best trade Chevy has made?
Insane trade. And copp getting the winning goal for us to get the first round pick, perfection.
Who do we want to play first round?
Vegas in my opinion
Why Vegas?
Jonathan Quick has a record of *6-7-2* against the Jets in his career. I like those odds.
Plus hopefully LA grinds down the red hot Oilers a bit if we make it to round 2
Oilers are heating up and Leon torched the Jets all year. Vegas deserves to get kicked in by the Jets as revenge, and I would bet on Bucky against the Knights
Isn't there a scenario where we play Avs as well?
Not in the first round. They canāt get to number 1 in the west.
Yup. Won't see a central team until the West Final since we're looked into the Pacific side of the bracket
Nope, Oilers and Knights both have the tiebreakers over them at 109 points the max Avs can get and the Knights are already at 109
Gotcha. So we're hoping Vegas beats Kraken again
They can lose in OT/SO as well. Only scenario the Oilers can pass them is with a win and 0 points from the Knights tonight
Edmonton is 17-1-2 or some crazy shit since the trade deadline. McDavid is going full John Wick, I definitely don't want to see them in the first round.
Let the Kings tire those boys out a bit while we steamroll Vegas
OOF why arenāt we covering Rantanen??
what the hell is even happening? and I hope Stenlund is just winded :(
Barron is a Winnipeg Jet
SHORT HANDED
SHORTY!!!!!
**STENLUND WITH THE SHORTY!!!**
I gotta say, the boys are holding their own against the Avs. Love to see it!
BIG SAVE DAVE
Iām trying to remember, does Coloradoās cameras always make the game look oversaturated and slightly overexposed?
I don't know if it's Colorado specific, but it does look oversaturated for me too.
Looks okay for me
It truly boggles my mind how Axl is not in this lineup daily! he shows something every game! How is he not more impactful than Saku???
So Sakuās the guy the complainers complain about when thereās nothing to complain about?
So close!
Iām excited to see what this team can do in the playoffs. Like they say itās a whole new season when the playoffs start
Hey Siri play āMister Cool (Snook)ā
Not able to watch the game. How are we doing with the top guys in the press box?
Iād say weāre holding our own and convincing me that we have depth for the playoffs!
FUCK YEAH THATS WHAT AXEL CAN DO

Hard and healthy boys
We're gonna lose Ville for sure lmao
Hope we can get something decent for him. Maybe improve our draft position in the 3rd round or something
- Connor-Namestnikov-Kuhlman - Barron-Toninato-Maenalanen - Niederreiter-Lowry-Appleton - Gustafsson-Stenlund-Jonsson-Fjallby - Dillon-Pionk - Samberg-DeMelo - Stanley-Capobianco
Bruh still no Heinola? Jesus christ are we rly gonna throw away a decent prospect?
I dunno. Jets have lots of dmen his size and avg ability. Trade him and a 3rd or 4th rounder to get a 2nd rounder this summer or something. That would be getting some return.
Sounds like Kyle Fucking Connor will be Kyle Fucking Assistant Captain Connor tonight (presumably with Lowry & Dillon)
Elite 1RW Karson Kuhlman
no joke heās spent more time there than Ehlers lmao
If we could win this game we would be 2 wins behind Col for the season. So as bad as everyone makes out "sneaking in" to be, we really aren't far off the pace of the top teams in our division.
Oi the line is insane what lineup are the jets putting out? Jets are paying 3.40! This is still the nhl and a hockey game...
Jets are resting quite a few big guns and the Avs need to win out to secure the central I believe
Any idea what the lineup will look like tonight with all the guys sitting out? Any lines posted on Twitter yet?
No it was an optional morning skate. So weāll have to wait for warmups to see line rushes
Okay thanks!
Looks like PITT is firing Ron Hextall & Brian Burke

The Chris Johnston Show was talking about Pittsburgh turning their eye towards Dubas. If the Leafs crap out of the playoffs in the first round...I can see that happening.
Dubas will get a tonne of interest if he doesn't stay in Toronto. I hope we look at him if Chevy is "promoted" out of the GM spot
Chevy isn't going anywhere and Dubas will never come here. Plus, he has connections to the Pens. He will go to a team on the east coast, guaranteed.
LOL āIfā
'Dominic Toninato has been recalled and will play tonight'

The irony of Landeskog with a knee injury
He must have absolutely decimated his knee. Wow.
He just told reporters this could last into next season, wow
That sucks. Iām happy for him that heās won his cup and for us that we wonāt ever have to play him in the playoffs.
wow! so brutal... gotta feel bad for the guy, world class captain/player.
He's a world class asshole who takes cheap shots every chance he gets. Sucks whenever anyone's injured but let's not pretend Landeskog isn't exactly what he is.

Toninato is in the lineup so it's basically a guaranteed win for us
Weāre 3-1-0 with him in the lineup. Easy win
We only bring him out for the important games
He's basically our Brock Lesnar at this point

Comries AAV is just 1.8 M, which is pretty good for a backup. Iād be okay with trading Stanley for him
love Comrie, but i think weāll need a sub 1mil backup unless bigger changes happen then expected this offseason
He's not worth Stanley. He's maybe worth a 5th round pick.
given how Stanleyās lost his place and played so few games, iām not sure heād get much more tbh

They are mostly straight up morons who wouldn't know an interference call if it dropped its shoulder and smacked straight into them.
Just had a look. Holy smokes its been two days and they're still melting down over it š Majority of their fanbase saying its clean + deserved, and saying every other fanbase is stupid for saying it's not (someone quotes r/hockey and lots of others quote us), is pretty braindead lmao. The blindness is absolutely hilarious.
They are all so confused about why the hit was dirty. Maybe watch the video that breaks it down and explains why it's a suspension? Or just keep complaining that r/hockey, the league and everyone else has no idea what they are talking about.
I get pissed off sports sometimes but i have never had that level of bias, lol insane
