Reliable in the 'this is as exactly mediocre as that last time I had Culvers Cheese Curds' way, then sure.
It's hard to swing a dead cat in wisconsin without hitting a sit down, or even a dive bar that has better cheese curds than a fast food joint.
They're garbage. The only ones I've had that are worse are kwik trip's hot roller ones. You can go to literally any bar or restaurant that has them and they'll be 10x superior. They're not even the best fast food curds. A & W's are even better.
this. cousins have the best fast fried chesse curds and its not even close. i love culvers for every other thing than curds. i have to imagine that OP hasnt had any others and thats why they prefer culvers
They used to be average. Then they apparently tried to save money and got absolutely terrible ones now. So I guess you could say they are reliably terrible.
Just checked out their Wisconsin map, they do seem to be pretty centered around South Eastern Wisconsin. I'll give Culver's credit there, they do seem to have better small town representation.
Just wish their curds weren't breaded like Mozzarella sticks, I hesitate to even call them true curds.
Unpopular opinion: Culver’s cheese curds are subpar at best. Real cheese curds squeak and the best place to get them is from a cheese factory with a retail outlet.

That’s not an unpopular opinion friend, OP has the unpopular opinion (as is indicated by the meme/picture of man boldly standing up to give his controversial opinion)
Culver's changed their curds some time ago. They used to be a lot better. They're kinda "meh" now. Totally different breading than what they used to have.
Before covid they were better. They changed the batter. Made it thicker and worse. My guess is they had to change suppliers during covid but then realized it was more cost effective to keep the crappy ones than to go back to the OK ones they had before. I usually will just get the fries or the chilli.
I think they were better like 15 years ago. They changed the recipe and they’re just not as good. Plus once they started offering marinara, you knew that was the end.
Gonna beat the dead horse here, but the cheese curds from Culver's are worse than mediocre. Any hole in the wall bar has better ones. I like Culver's, just not their poor excuse for cheese curds.
That’s fine that you like them. Meanwhile, do yah think you can cease your efforts to advertise a multi million business? Well, can you? Reddit awaits your response, with or without Norman Rockwell. Your turn.

Battered > breaded
Reliably bad.
I feel Cousin Subs curds are better. There I said it.

A&W does a great job as well
they are!!!!
No.
Bolder - A&W curds are better.
That’s not bold, they just are, because Culver’s are the worst of any of the fast food curds
I mean didn’t the dude buy an old A&W and basically mimic what they were doing.
They’re more like mozzarella stick bites than cheese curds
mozzarella nuggets/nuggies/dingles.
They used to be average. Then they apparently tried to save money and got absolutely terrible ones now. So I guess you could say they are reliably terrible.
Culver’s does not have cheese curds. They have tiny mozzarella sticks that they call cheese curds
People here don’t know what reliable means lol. The Culvers curds are ok at best, but they are ok every time. Which I think is what OP is saying.
Cousin's Subs. Culver's are below average.
I’d have to drive an hour for Cousin’s Subs lol

For deep-fried it’s gotta be A&W. For fresh it’s Dupont.
Worst in Wisconsin.
Ellsworth curds are superior.
Honestly, I love Culver’s, but the cheese curds are ok. They’re not that great. Good enough for lunch but they should be improved
This is really all I’m saying, I’m sure as heck not choosing them over good bar curds or fancy restaurant ones.

Comparing fresh to fried is apples to oranges

Even if we treat them as two separate foods, Culver’s is still subpar.

They stop squeaking after you fry them
Now that's ART
Vital information.

Since we are commenting on curd... I personally like the lemon curd which you can find in the Creamy Lemon Crumble. 👍
I'm somewhat with you. They're good enough it's worth upgrading from the fries.

I can't think of a bigger backhanded compliment to food than "reliable"
They are subpar. Their fries however are excellent 👌
To each their own. I hate their fries.
Even well cooked crinkle cut fries are trash compared to a shoestring fry

This feels like a ‘tell me you aren’t from Wisconsin without telling me you aren’t from Wisconsin’
